Fun fact: There are 256 galaxies. The game is obsessed with 16. Multiply 16 x 16 = 256.

One key thing is to NOT go into freelook once you are at a gateway system. Keep your view on galaxy core and the line still points to the center, your view may not be looking toward the core, but that is not necessary. Move your mouse to orient the circle to the line pointing to the core.
Also there approximatly 6 Gateway systems in each galaxy and you may need one of the three colored hyperdrive modules to get to the gateway system. But that is all the indium, cadmium, and emeril drives are needed for if the gateway system is not a yellow system. Once at a yellow gateway system, you will see that those three drives are not required from there to the core. You hyperdrive range is not required to be any certain range. Your drive can be 50 light year range and you will still make the 3000+ ly jump to the core. Only a full hyperdrive is needed.

I love the galaxy change theme music and the animation. The first time you do it, pulling back at an increasing pace from the center of Euclid, seeing all the stars fly by reminds of all the explorations you did there. Moving through empty space and then entering the star clouds of the second galaxy reminds that there are now millions of new systems to discover.

No. You can use a teleporter at any time to return to any base, regardless of the galaxy it resides in. Be sure to build a base in your new galaxy before doing so, so that you can return there also.
Bases that exist in a different galaxy to your current one have the name of that galaxy after the name of the base, in the teleporter list.

If like me you have been doing everything correct and still the warp drive won't charge, simply jump to the core from another solar system. Its that simple. I warped away from the last planet closest to the core, like 40 solar systems away, then set a course back to the core and look at that, the charge happened immediately when jumping from a different planet / solar system.

I have 3500 hours in NMS, am on my 7th save slot (bought it twice) and i still have never been able to get this to work
The bit that confuses me is when you said ".. and im holding it towards the core" i have never seen my cursor look as yours did and im not certain where or what i should be clicking
Do you leave the system you are in as "selected" or do you try to select the core itself? Do you right click to deselect your current system? Is it Left Mouse Button you click and hold? (im guessing it is but want to be sure)
Im sorry for the long questions, but this is the first explanation that has come close to teaching me this, before everyone ive asked has said "your hyperdrive isnt full" or "are you sure youre at a gateway system" and havent realised that ive understood that part, its the actual clicking that has always baffled and eluded me

Reload & try again. First by NOT leaving the system you're in in galaxy map; then if that doesn't work, try coming out of system.
      ALSO, as always:
      - Make sure Hyperdrive is 100% full.
      - Make sure path to galactic core is selected & it doesn't lead you to another system first.

    • @NoMansSkyResources
      @NoMansSkyResources  Před 2 lety +1

There are 256 galaxies. You move onto the next galaxy in the chain by reaching the centre of current galaxy.
The main storyline also offers you a one-time shortcut at the end; where you can pick what type of galaxy you would like to go to & it sends you to the next one of that type.
Using a teleporter, you can go back to any previous bases you have, making it possible to travel between any galaxy you have built a base in.

nice tutorial, sadly i knew all of it. i just was searching for a way to do that faster - i mean -
starting: finding a monolyth, cracking the riddle, getting to the portal, jumping to the middle of the current galaxy, cwitch ship and multitool when at gateway system then jump to the core.
takes a while... and im on course to 130 - Broomerai and after that 239 - Yuwarugha. with the current method i calculated for me the shortest possible time to be 114hours to 239 and if not entirely committed (playing with friends or doing something else here and there) a medium of 274hours - it could even take longer if i lose my committment to the task completely once in a while.
btw. use living ships for the jump you dont have to repair anything and the jump is verry cheap - only 12 chromatic metall for each galaxy
also, how did you increase your inventory to this insane amount? ive never seen a bug like this before or is this some sorcery of creative mode (and/or a modding tool)?

Yes to all of this. You'll need a base in any other galaxy you wish to return to. Use the teleporter to go to any base you have, regardless of galaxy. Nope. A common misconception.
The end of the Artemis Path offers a shortcut to one of 4 other galaxies; but it's not the centre of any galaxy; it's just an Atlas Interface.
Originally, going through the core was the only method of travel between galaxies. The story (and the one-off shortcut with it) was added later.
