    I agree, this car would great if it had real parts instead of cheap plastic parts, and I hate how cheap the door lock is, especially when the fob stops working, JUNK BMW!! but I love the car overall

    Been there done all that…honestly these cars are just fun to drive when working properly! Parts on bmw’s are designed to fail at certain mileage and in groups so you have to do them together otherwise keep going to shop and yes that generates money for bmw with after service and parts.i have yet to see any other car which needs so many parts! Next i would go for lexus ( reliable bmw replacement)

    You forgot to mention the worst of them all, the 2 plastic pipes underneath the intake manifold. That type of job that will ruin your week and weekend combine - That job that if you ended up taking it to the a reputable shop that will charge you an arm and a leg; $1,800 just the labor itself w/o parts. Yet we haven’t mention the oil filter housing gasket and the list goes on and on 😂

      Don’t me wrong, is an excellent built car; Just don’t recommend ownership to anybody that doesn’t wrench or he/she will be broke in months

    Ive just been told that i might have a small coolamt leak while it was having a service and oil change. But he wasn't sure where from, said it could have been the expansion tank or the radiator.
    Its my first car so im pretty new to this stuff. So any advice on how to check foe where my leak might be coming from, would be very much appreciated!
    Its a bmw 316ti, 2004, if that helps

      @@WhosThatWhippin that’s such a come up haha nice man they really the easiest cars to work on, still never taken mine to a mechanic fixed a lot on her did the water pump, expansion tank and bracket, differential swap to the 3.64, window regulator, trans gasket& filter and a bunch of hoses everywhere. saved probably $7k by doing everything myself. e46 is the funnest daily you can get for the $

  • @alejandromendoza4260
    @alejandromendoza4260 Před 2 lety +3

    You guys should stop using plastic and buy aluminum pump and thermostat housing saves a lot of money and more durable car not poorly made you just need to keep up you shouldn’t own one if you can’t keep up with it

    Great video. I bought my e46 last year and had a leak the other day. SOmeone said it came from the hose near the manifold but not 100% sure. It seems this is a common problem with this cars which makes them a real pain in the ass! I shouldn't have bought one of these cars. They're badly engineered! Can't wait to fix and sell mine.

    • @idiether
      @idiether Před 2 lety +14

      They are greatly engineered, and absolutely very easy to work on. Sometimes time consuming but definitely not hard or bad engineered. These are great cars just keep up with maintenance and you’ll be fine

    This car is a extremely poorly made leaking bucket....correction expensive leaking bucket. I made the mistake of buying one. These BMW’s should be classified as toys with the amount of plastic parts they use on the engine...cheaply made plastic parts that cost an arm and a leg! Stay away from these.
