* Milky-Lotion Update*
I see a lot of people asking about the 'milky lotion' , 'moisturising milk', 'milk' variety so let me quickly explain - I didn't even think to include it in this video (silly me đ„Č) because in Japanese the 'toners' in this video are a completely different product to their 'milky' alternative.
Tbh I didn't even know they called them 'milky-lotions' since I always look at product info on their official Japanese website!
Lotion (English translation) = Keshousui (Japanese name) = Toner (English product equivalent)
Milky Lotion (English translation) = Nyueki (Japanese name) = Emulsion (English product equivalent)
Emulsions are quite common in Japanese Skincare since it is a step you can add in between your toner and moisturiser, since it has both water and oil content to bridge that gap.
It is great if you want to add more moisture without having to use something heavy, or even for people who have oilier skin and want to skip a moisturiser all together, an emulsion can just be a light textured moisturiser!
Hope that clears things up - I didn't realise how many people were interested in the milky version so pls give this comment a thumbs up if you want to see a video dedicated on them in the future!! đđđ
Yes, please! đ
Thanks a lot for the info! đYes, that would be nice if you could make a video about them.đ
Yes pleaseeeee! :D
Hi Tina, you forget to include the exfoliating lotion version, the tamagohada mild peeling lotion hada labo. It's a good option for beginner or sensitive skin, and quite famous in my country. Maybe you can include this lotion into your review next time.

Hi can you tell if the plastic packaging of the bottle can totally be removed? I don't know if I got a fake product.
@@twinklingni811 Sorry, I haven't bought any yet so I don't know.
Thank you đ„°
â@@twinklingni811 No, the plastic packaging is literally the label. You're only supposed to remove the plastic around the cap. Remove everything and you'll get a plain bottle.
such a great guide! loved your first video so thank you so much for the updated version
I discovered your channel with your first video on this and it helped me decide which ones are for me. Thanks so much for updating!
Thank you so much for this in-depth guide! Itâs so so helpful. Iâve been using the regular type for a while now but Iâll try another one now đ
Omg I just watched your old hadalabo video the other day! So excited to see an updated version.
Thanks for this Tina! I have tried a few of these toners but it's good to have this comprehensive video for reference.
Thank you so much for this! I live in Japan but my Japanese is terrible and I've been meaning to try this line out but was overwhelmed with the selection. This was so helpful!
Yaay! Was hoping for this content. Saw your previous video on this and since then they indeed relaunched so this is so helpful and interesting. Thank you!
Thank you! Just bought toner for the first time ever using your guide and my skin improved the next morning!!!! Subscribed!
I've used the red one consistently for the last 6 months, along with the moisture cream which is like a thick butter for your face. It does help a lot with making your skin look bright!
Hada Labo is really a brand that is simple, no frills and fragrance-free. The Premium Gokyujun lotion (in gold casing) is really very moisturizing even in the Korean winter, and I am starting to understand why even South Koreans love it.
And they also torture helpless voiceless animals. Course, I don't mean only Japan. Every gat dam country does it.
Why not experiment on convicted serial killers, etc? Why r these heinous murderers' given more compassion than innocent fellow creatures? Cuz, we are tribal.
what abt the people who are dying all over the world? go vouch for them.
@@Time_to_Stop_Animal_Abusedo they test in animals?? This is 2023⊠Itâs so ridiculous that some brands still do it (heard Laneige does it, and now Iâm sad bc they do have some stuff I like)!
@@flowerpot3787what?..
@@Tttt28882 - no kidding. I'm a reluctant liberal (hate both the left & right), but can u believe I read a decent article by a conservative org đ. It said, rightfully, that the Progressives (more like Regressives) r obsessed w/petty race/id politics when speciesism/animal issue is what we urgently need to reconcile with! When it comes to how we treat our fellow animals, almost nothing has changed since the medieval days.
U wouldn't believe the gruesome lab experiments still going on. I've read about one where 100's of cats were given large dose of Modanifil (I've taken this & it's excruciatingly head pounding), then they were suspended in water or something. If they fell asleep they drown. The cats didn't get to sleep for 30 days out of their will to survive, but they ended up drowning. Wtf is this? Sigh. Why don't they tested on convicted murderers?
P. S. The Chinese... their Wuhan market sells live cats & dogs for meat. That's not all, they r beaten & SKINNED ALIVE cuz they believe their unbearable pain makes the meat tenderer... I've heard from the person who told me, he heard the poor animal's screams/cries đ.
Itâs my first time watching your videos and I have to tell you how UTTERLY THANKFUL I am that you made these! I have been using Japanese skin care for over a decade and never realised how much I was missing out just because Iâm not fluent in Japanese. I had been Hada Labo lotions for years because they were so recommended to me without knowing exactly how to use it as there was no in-depth guide back then so I appreciate it so much more now that you have equipped me with the proper information on how best to use them and maximise their ingredients⊠so thank you so much from MontrĂ©al! I will be watching your other videos now!
You win the internet today for this amazingly thorough Hada Labo Lotion review! Thank you, Tina!
This was incredibly helpful. The HadoLabo lotions always confused me. A couple of years ago I bought the Alpha Arbutin one in error and now, after watching this video, I know which one I need.
Thank you for this updated review Tina. Very helpful. đ I avoided shirojyun because I'm allergic to arbutin, so I'm glad to know that hada labo has reformulated it. I doubt, however, if I'm going to try it despite the reformulation as I'm quite satisfied with the shirojyun premium variant. I also think the premium one is better ingredients-wise, because it has licorice root extract in addition to tranexamic acid. So it's good not only for brightening but also for calming the skin.
Thank you for comparing the Hada Labo lotions (and creams in another video). You are the only youtuber who gave an in depth description of the residue like feeling or lack thereof. That helped me a lot to finally find the perfect cream an lotion for me, as I can't stand a feeling of having cream on my face. I exhausted all the creams in Germany and finally found my holy grail in japan :)
Hado Labo better be sponsoring you cause I'm trying to form a skin care routine and you're wide knowledge and good explanation helps me a lot
Hi Tina, this is the best video I have seen on explaining and demonstrating the different types of Hada Labo lotions which can be confusing without translation. It's a great asset when you can read Japanese too, and show us what to watch for on the bottle. Thank you and well done đ·
Thank you for the update, Ms. Tina! â„
This video is soooo useful for labo lotions choices. I really appreciate u dedicate this brand. â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
I loved the old video but this is amazing Tina! Thanks for really breaking it down by range, type and the old/new versions. And the tips/tricks for choosing and usage đ„șâ€ïž it was information packed but so clear and not technical at all
great video on hada labo love the brand and its simplicity!! Also love the way you accessorise đ
Love love this đ I always get confused and Iâm so glad you made a detailed video đ„°
This is super helpful!! Thank you so much, Tina!
I just bought a premium shirojyun light version for hyperpigmentation but i don't remember if it's the old or new version, i guess the old one, so thank you so much for this video! They should hire you at hada Labo as a lotion specialist or something hahahah you're the best Tina thank you đđ»âš
Thank you so much for this very informative video đ Would love to know which lotion you use most often! Also, a review of other hada labo products like the foaming cleanser would be super appreciated!
The yellow one saved my skin when I messed up my skin barrier! Love it.
Just perfect useful video with the new reformulated products đđ»đđ»
The way I laughed when you said âare you confused yet?!â đ thank you for this amazing content!!
Very happy with this new review!!!.. I usually use them also for my body!!!.. thanks Tina!!!
So happy to see this update on hada labo lotions! đđ„° I recently got the premium shirojyun milk that has a new packaging. I've used the cream version and I like it but one tub only lasted me around 2 or 3 months (it's so small).
Now I'm just contemplating whether to get the lotion one as well because I'm still good with my I'm From Rice Toner though đ
Ooo the Rice Toner is so good too~ hehe đ
I never got into the Hada Labo lotions because I never knew which one to try out. Thank you for the informative video! Love you Tina^^
I saw ur channel to check for japanese skincare and got addicted to ur videos while going through tretinoin medication, and omg i bought ur recommendations and kept my skin glowing, my pores tighter, plumper, and at bay for new pimples. Japanese skincare is super underrated here in PH, so gosh thank u so much âĄ
Can pls share Which ones you used?
Would love if you did this on the milks/emulsions as well. I find it so informative, even though Iâve been a user for almost a decade already
Will certainly consider it!
Salam!
Im sucker for pearls and seeing your jewerely just made my day, and ofc Tyyy for the updated guide!!!!
tHE WAY I JUST WATCHED YOUR OLD HADA LABO LOTION GUIDE YESTERDAY ODSGMSKJDHG queen of further contributing to the hada labo brainworms consuming my mind rn!! I LOVE U đ„șđđ
đđđđđ
Hada labo is one of my favourite skin care and will definitely bring bunch of them with me when I leave japan in 2 weeks!
There's one more Hada Labo lotion that I think exclusive to the South East Asian market. Its the Hada Labo Tamagohada Mild Peeling Lotion. Its my favorite too. Its like a very gentle exfoliator. It does comes with cleanser too.
After work I headed off to the pharmacy to purchase the 愔最ăăŹăăąă (the gold one ). I can't wait to use it! Thanks for making the videođ
Iâm loving the hada labo moist hyaluronic acid lotion. I canât wait to try the red and blue one
Literally just watched the old lotion video today! It was an EXCELLENT guide and this updated one is so good! Thank you so much!
I looooooooooove the Hada Labo lotions!!!! After years of treatment serum and exfoliating actives I finally realised that my skin needed first and foremost gentle hydration, now I exfoliate twice a week, use the gokujyun premium before retinoid and my skin is in the best shape ever
Whats ur skin type?
I was looking for what kind of lotion is best to prep for retinol routine. Well Thankyou Tina â€
You use retinoid after using hada Lobo?
Best video I've seen on the subject so far. Thanks
Thanks for the update! I use the Hada Labo shirojyun lotions as a vitamin C serum haha (bc my skin usually canât tolerate vit c!) and was thinking of trying the premium! Excited to hurt my wallet :â)
This was so informative đ„°your videos are amazing
Finally! An updated version! Thank you for this! You're the best! And my nickname is Tina too!
Thanks for the update Tina! I love your faceđ„°đ„°
This is so helpful! Thank you, Tina đ
Dude, you're so fun. I love you. Currently binging your viddies
Hi Tina I just discovered the world of Japanese and Korean products from my two daughters 16 and 17 and Iâm fascinated I just bought one of the products that you talk about the blue one and I love it wowed in addition to the sukoyaka suhada urea and cosrx snail mucin this last one had crear my daughterâs face completely from miner breakouts, I love that you take your time to explain everything, definitely will be using your code for all my purchases, new subscriber.
Hi I have the blue premium toner and I have also a daughter of 16 years old can she use this? And my face broke out in the beginning of using it do I have to use a good moisturiser after
Thank you for the information â€. I bought the anti aging lotion because I'm already 47 now and I think it's just right to choose this type of lotion â€ïž
I lived in Japan and must have used hundereds of bottles of both the whitening and premium whitening toners, and continue to use for years. I've tried all the others as well but the whitening and premium whitening range are my HG toners that I always fall back too. I love the ingrediants and also the way they are fragrance, essential oil and alcohol free. I also used the creams from the same line and the äčłæ¶Č (lotion, but the cream lotion not the toner.... I don't know what that would be in English lol)
Do you recommend the gold bottled gokujyun premium toner ? I currently use the white bottle gokujyun light toner
@@Andrew-hr6bu It depends on what ingredients work on your skin. They are both great for sun damaged skin (right here) and of course both have the soy that helps prevent melanin formation. The white has arbutin as a whitening ingredient, while the gold contains tranexamic acid.
@@umatilla1253 what's the better ingredient between the two
Are both Versions of the "Shirojyun" this with preventing breakouts or just the light one?
They r effective, but they torture animals. That's where I draw the line.
Iâm surprised there no mention of their milky counterparts! I purchased a shirojyun set that included the milky lotion and I absolutely loved it! Highly suggest
Tina, please do a video about the shirojyun premium emulsion as well!
Hi tina!!! I hope you also do all the Milk lotion series and what skin type it is suitable for. Been watching your vlog since I discovered your channel!! I bought all the j-skincare you've recommended and it works perfectly on my acne-prone oily skin! Ive been trying a lot of skincare and none of them works for me, but through you I have finally found the skincare that works for me. You are such a big help!!! â„â„
Aww I am so glad my recommendations worked well for you đ„șđđ
Dw I am working on the milk lotions! Haha I have been collecting them bit by bit and pretty sure I have just one missing to complete my collection!
@@TinaTanakaHarris â„â„â„â„ ill wait and im so excited!!! Thank you for giving us all the infos we needed!!
Thank you Tina! This was very helpful. I just learned I've been using the wrong Hada Labo lotion. lol
Thank you! Being Japanese American, I can read only elementary school Japanese level so these type of labels are incredibly hard for me to decipher. This video helped immensely. ăăăăšăâïž
This sole video by itself deserves an instant sub to your channel.
I actually subscribed to her channel because of her previous Hada labo video!
Another fantastic video!
Very informative ! Thx Tina !
I LOVE and use the premium gold one every day. It makes a huge difference in the hydration of my skin. So glad you made this video!
Just ordered a few hada labo items because they are fungal acne safe too!
Yayyy!!!! I love when you review and explain Japanese products!!! Japanese skincare is my favorite and itâs sooooo hard to find info in English on CZcams!!! Thank you! đ
Oh no, I have two bottles of HL Gokujyun that I have in hand and they are old version. Okay, I will buy the new version when I finish them! Thanks for the info!
So informative!! Thank you!!!
Thanks for this video!!!! So informational
this is so helpful thank u so much!

oh em. haha Thank God I saw this video. Never thought that Lotion is their term for Toner :) so informative
hi tina! i have been loving your videos since you also focus on japanese products. (been living in japan for quite some time).
i wanna ask can you use them all? like can you layer them? or like everyday you use different kind of hada labo?
Thank you! Got myself the Shiroyjun Premium Moist. Been using it day and night for a week, skin feels hydrated and my skin tone is brighter now. Grateful I found your channel. Got tired of reading soo many blogs and viewing vlogs but I end up with products that dont work.
Nadya, Brunei xx
May I know which colour range are u using?
Hi Serena, itâs the blue coloured jar âșïž
Thank u for the update. You actually influenced me in purchasing this Japanese lotion brand and I'm loving it. Question, would you still apply a skin conditioner before using the Hada Labo lotions?
A skin conditioner is still considered a toner in Japan although usually has ingredients to help 'condition the skin' as I said in the video = help with breakouts so you can definitely use both if you wanted to (I'd recommend wipe of with the skin conditioner, then palm-applying the Hada Labo lotion) but it is not NECESSARY to use both if that makes sense!
Thank you for the lovely video! đ Just a question, how will we know the expiration date of the product? Thank you.
So informational! Thank you
SHIROJYUN Premium seems to have additional ingredients such as Arbutin and Niacinamide. đ probably purchasing this instead of the old SHIROJYUN arbutin formula -- my fav.
Here in Thailand, I read from the ingredient list -- which I think required to put in the labels which I find very useful.
Very thorough review! I have the gokujyun premium with the gold cap. I wanted to love it but it dries my skin out. Tried it by itself on clean dry skin, tried on damp skin, tried following it with my serums & moisturizer. It felt good when I applied it but hours later/next day my face wld always feel extra dry. It also caused irritation on my neck, it was red & almost a scaly texture. Then I tried it on my body after showering on damp skin & followed with my regular moisturizer. Hours later my skin started feeling itchy. I applied it to clean damp hair followed by a leave-in conditioner and my usual styling products. The next day my hair felt extra dry. Maybe I'll try the aging one in the red bottle.
Great video. I was surprised that you didn't mention one of the key benefits of the Gold Premium bottle - the inclusion of 3% urea! Urea is fabulous for adding hydration. I'm wondering whether the blue Premium bottle also includes urea (and if that's why it's also called Premium)?
please do a review on Sana's Namerakahonpo lotions too!! it seems quite popular in Japan but I haven't seen anyone do a full review.
Thank you Tina, this is very helpful! Even though I struggle to get this japanese products (I live in Argentina), no website to buy those here :(
Hi Tina! The Hada Labo Premium Whitening Lotion sold in my country seems to have alpha arbutin, niacinamide and 3-o-ethyl ascorbic acid as its active ingredients. Do you know if this is a different formula sold only in specific countries while globally the one sold is the one mentioned in your video, with licorice root extract and tranexamic acid as its actives?
Could you do video about hair products and hair care ? Xxx
the shirojyun premium is now available here too (Indonesia) and yeaaa, arbutin is gone and changed with tranexamic acid. but don't know about shirojyun reguler version, may be next i'll try it because the packaging is also changed here
and btw shirojyun here just 1 version (light reguler and light premium), hopefully they'll launch the richer shirojyun like Japanese version
Thank you so much for this video
Could you do a Shiseido review? And compare it to SK-II and Shu Uemura? Shiseido is my favourite skincare brand and would love to try some more of their products. Thank you beautiful
I just ordered the blue, white, and gold one.
Hi, Thanks for the review. Can you also review the Hada Labo Tokyo anti-aging? I see Priceline has them on their shelves. Thanks

I also like Kohakuhada xYamano lotion ameber extract lotion it is also Japanese brand it has natural ingredients. I can't read Japanese it all covered in Japanese only line in English amber skin natural beauty đ it is very moisturizing. Randomly found it in an Asian beauty store where I live.
I just found out that the Hada Labo lotion (the white bottle) I use is completely different from yours. Ofc, itâs not fake. It is specifically made in my country so the ingredients arenât the same comparing to the one in Japan.
However, I notice that the new version of Hada Labo in Japan has added some ingredients that my country version has but the older version not. But the Japanese version still has more ingredients than mine. So I wonder if they work the same or different đ§đ§đ§
