I like to PvP, and PvE. Usually wearing an Exo Suit nowadays. Unlocking it is easy with no cheats needed anymore, and usually on a server, official or unofficial, I'm not fussed. Single Player is great though, certainly with a guide for any platform be it switch, xbox, ps4, ps5, pc, steam, epic, it's great. Sometimes play MTS, and usually post patch/update. But a survival game needs some community news and that's what I do, giving you the latest on events, small tribes, usually covering all maps from Island to Fjordur. And one day. ARK 2!

Really nice that they decided not just to create a new game completely for the new Switch version, and didn't leave the older players in the dust.

Lots of bugs still. Specially for players with old save files. Trees moved causing beehives to float all over the middle part of the map. Structures/workbench not working properly & unable to craft. I will try remaking them on a new character and see if it fixes some of these bugs

I love the new game play I can see what I am doing including seeing the predator Dino’s before they see me lol. I still get the pounce by raptors but I laugh it off and continue to play if they kill me. My family of jerboas have saved my character a few times from the heat and I was able to get back to base in time before the extreme heat hits. Scorched Earth is hard but I fun it a fun map. I better tame me some raptors, sabers and thylas cause I want to start caving soon.

A lot of the loot crates are bugged. When they land there isn’t away to interact with them. They will land inside rocks or cliffs or just not show up.

Its doing the same thing to me that the old version was doing. All of my settings get reset every time i restart the game(and my character/save file just randomly disappeared too. I never got my old save and my new one just is gone)

Think you could do a stress test? Ark tends to crash on me just when I have like 5 raptors following me on the original Xbone and I'm sure people would be salty if their game kept crashing/lagging when they bring their 20 rexes to a boss

Really quick question how do I make a new singeplayer server on the new switch version I can't figure it out please help or do we have to wait to when they do add save games

Been on the grind I see, unfortunately I'm feeling like quitting ark lol just defeated the dodowyvern with a whole giga army and then got three zombie lightning Wyverns along with all the other rewards however the game decided to delete all of that when transferring back to fjordur, wish I could have backed it up but I'm on ps4.
To add more bad news, I was going to fight the dodorex and just spawn in the gigas since the game destroyed them but couldn't find it, even when flying around a super sonic speed so now I've lost everything lol.
Anyone else having trouble with their difficulty settings? I set mine up to the maximum of 1 but my Dino’s are maxed at level 120 not 150. If anyone has a solution please let me know

I too set mine to 1 and turned on max difficulty, and as you were saying : Lvl 120 for the highest. Are you on nintendo switch too ?

To me it seems that it looks better if you turn off vivid in system menu. Too colorful with it on. For oled owners 😁

Does the new scorched earth ascension add 15 max levels to your character?
The settings for your world always get reset whenever you go to menu, hopefully they’ll fix it in the future
Also when I got blinded by a Dino’s roar n ran away scared the screen messed up n split in two n didn’t shade/darken regular.
Actually, I do has questions. I usually play on PS5, so I can handle the console foibles.
But does it actually run OK? Decent fps and whatnot?
And...could one just fudge a bit and buy one of the older physical copies for cheap, and still get the visual upgrade? :P
Yes, the FPS is decent now, and Old Physical copy will still get the upgrade, as it is an update and not a new game

Hi I have a problem on my solo game I can't find level 150 dinosaurs anymore, yet I have activated the maximum difficulty I have this problem since the ARK update Can someone help me?
I'm having the same issue worked fine until they released the new patch. I think the max dino tick box is not working but it'd did use too. Hopefully it will get sorted soon. Also wish they would get the settings to save. That has always been an issue.
I own Ark on both switch and steam deck -- is there any reason why I'd want to play the switch version other than the young explorer mode? Not being a troll, legit asking. I was super hyped for this but after getting a steam deck recently I'm wondering where I should invest my time and I'm guessing probably the steam version
For me it's genuinely the young explorer mode, as well as an early look at the new content. Beyond that it's certainly preference mate(If a switch is all you own).
Well on steam deck you can have mods.

Do we get an equivalent of .ini files on Switch? Eg I've been trying to make the dino levels in increments of 5 like the official servers, but I can't find the setting to do so on single player Switch.

Island levels are normally quite difficult to manage through mate I'm afraid. You'll have an easier ride on later maps if it follows the same rules as other platform's

so i have purchased ark for my switch a while ago and it recently got a nice update and and i was wondering is how to join non dedicated bc i have the option to make mine into a non dedicated and i can find it but i for some reason cant join on my brothers switch. in the video it says their is no option to make it a non dedicated surver but on both of our we have the option but cant seems to join even tho we see it???
I refuse to buy any of the DLC maps currently has eyes on the day one launch of arc on my Nintendo switch by scorched earth is not available to Me at all it is locked and there is zero option for purchase or for the free download that I understood was supposed to happen for people who owned the original version of arc that was released.
I just found out that Ark on the Switch got a major update yesterday, and I was wondering if that upgrade is still free to this day because I have ark on the switch and I checked but I can't really tell if it still is or not. I would love it if someone told me if it was or not.
If you owned the game prior to the update then it should give you the update.
I just tried the new update and it’s great. I kinda want to start a new single player play through on The Island because I started up my old version’s file and got a little overwhelmed having not played Ark in ages. I got quite far but none of my dinos were over level 100. Is there a way to make a new save file on the Switch version? (If it’s possible to have two I might use the old one for creative mode or something)

I noticed you got only one of the witch hat, bunny ears, santa hat, etc. Does that mean they work for both players and saddles in one item instead of 2 separate items?

Am I the only one who finds skins to be incredibly annoying when every single time you die you end up with an inventory full of useless skins but if you forget to drop before you go find your character to retrieve your inventory you have to look through 30 different skins to find your armor while you are being attacked😮

You probably can create a new character and do the kill all command and it should destroy all structures and Dino’s and wipe your map clean

Exactly how stable is the frame rate?
Been a solid 30fps for me mate
All you need to know about Ark Nintendo is that it sucks and needs loads of work on. Drops are bugged, servers keep on failing, there are terrible rollbacks going on, couple of times a day and they may take you up to half an hour back in progress, four five times in a row….Animal spawns are broken, the map is basically empty, there seems to be problem with cryos as well. Etc etc, I hope the devs will work on it asap. Otherwise it’s a decent experience, basically a PC version with bad quality.
Ark is a broken game it always has been it's an amazing broken game but anytime you have to have a team of people to save your character from being eaten by the map and your own constructions on the map it's a broken game
