- Hello,
For those of you who have been waiting, here it is. Part 2 of my videos of the British Soldier on the Western Front, a part of my British Infantryman series. This particular video covers the uniform and equipment changes from 1915 - 1918 but doesn't cover all of the Anti-Gas Equipment changes as that is an entire topic of its own.
Hope you enjoy,
Matthew,

interesting about the leather webgear being cheaper back then. i imagine it would be the opposite nowadays.
Great video mate keep it up
I have a few more ideas lined up just need to get a couple of extras bits to complete the impression 😃
The PVC jerkin was still in use on Royal Observer Corps "cold weather" posts up until the ROC was stood down on 30th September 1991. I'll confess that I found them a bit stiff and impractical and suspect that the leather version would have been more effective.
Very well done. Thank you.
Great video, well done !!!
Fantastic video! Well presented and precise.

@@MatthewsMilitaryMoments you are very welcome Matthew, keep it up!
Excelente video!! Muy interesante e ilustrativo.
Un cordial saludo.
For a theatrical production we rented some ww1 uniforms and and there was something like the modified ground sheet you showed. It had a rubberised outer and a lining that felt rather like corduroy. Warmest, most useful thing.
Are you familiar with such an item? I’m wondering if I can find any more information.
From what what you've told me, it sounds more like a Private Purchase Officers Raincape. However, I shall have a look around and do some research and if anything matches it, I shall let you know. However, like I said, it sounds to me like a private purchase item.
Awesome

Great video. Do you have a good source or reference for ww1 insignia? Were the patches worn on the back of the tunic always brigade insignia?

The greatcoat in the video is an original. Are you looking to buy a Repro?
@@MatthewsMilitaryMoments oh wow it’s in great condition. yes i would like a repro
Are you looking for a cheap and cheerful one or a good quality and slightly more expensive one???
@@MatthewsMilitaryMoments i would definitely like something good quality . i saw them on WPG. But i would consider both
@@DonDon-zm3vz for quite a reasonable price, you can get an excellent Repro from soldier of fortune, although it is quite thick and heavy
