It’s more or less post production edits. Edits that are done to crisp up the performance. So stuff like pitch correct is added and other compressors and such. possible over dubbing could also be in play here
To all the people wondering about the vocals - people get sick…compromise or lose their voice…it happens. It’s the most volatile instrument. They soldiered on and put on a good show regardless. I think they should have held out on releasing this as official material until had a chance to overdub it or something (MANY bands do this) because he is clearly not at 100%, however they probably spent a ton of money on the production and didn’t want to cancel or back out of the deal, which is admirable.

If I had to guess he did these shows in 2019 sick and he's been paying the price ever since and did a serious vocal injury. He is my favourite pop punk vocalist and someone I admire but you have to be real here something is up and he's probably well aware of it. Also why it's not admirable to just soldier on because if you do you can really hurt yourself. This song isn't even that high in his register. I'd suggest listening to Secrets. It would be a miracle to sound that ill and not hurt yourself but mind you even in April of that year he had some vocal issues.

Sound guy killed it, sounds sick. Tad concerned for Derek, Derek doesn’t even sound like himself. Luckily Ryan is a very capable singer and can fill in at some points

I practice to Derek every day. My goal...which i would say I'm 70% there, is to match what he does on the CDs note for note without a mic. I'm shocked he doesn't make that more of a priority live. This is still some great footage tho. Showin my age here...but I wish this would become a state champs live DVD haha
