    Ignoring destroyers happens a lot on NA too. I end up playing gunboat destroyers or cruisers to counter them if I'm not teamed up

    • @FunandGameswithTerry

      it might well be down to the fact that I play more cruisers on NA, since that's my personal, and do more BB reviews on Asia. When playing solo, I mostly prefer ships that can deal with any class of opponent, and I'd like to see the DD that wants to take me on in an Odin :)

    You missed commenting on an interesting aspect of Dewey, the legendary commander. Precise aim duration is cut in half, but so is the cool down. You can use all of your precise aim charges with him. Allegedly, you can use all 7 if you select the level ?5? skill for additional precise aim. You need a small map to get into the action quickly for that to work out I’m sure.
    Some of the guys ran all the reload reduction math and there’s no way to get two salvos in a precise aim, no matter the commander assigned, so Dewey has the ability to get another precise aim available in half the time.

    • @FunandGameswithTerry
      @FunandGameswithTerry  Před 3 lety +3

      Yeah, I haven't run the math, but Dewey is definitely custom made for the new branch. You could almost argue for a range module in slot one to get shots on target earlier, if you use Dewey, since you'll pretty much always have precise aim on.

  • @dudditz

    I think your right, monti is more flexible and if you play closely together in 2 bb and maybe cruiser support it doesnt matter cause cv lose all planes anyway
    Also monti can react better to a rushing cruiser/dd with the reload .. citadels on both hurt.. neither is a dmg monster like yamato

    The slow american BBs are strong but their gameplay is definently something not everyone will come to like
    Im only at kansas and i have played only two battles but i really enjoyed it, good at both sniping and brawling, in my second battle i challenged a black bismarck and won
    Other people will definently find them boring however, slow speed and a reload of 29 seconds of misery is not attractive for everybody

    • @FunandGameswithTerry
      @FunandGameswithTerry  Před 3 lety +1

    Sad that you dont like the line so much, however for someone who doesnt like them, youre actually doing quite well! I have the USN tech tree as my main and the playstyle very much suits me, not much with German BB's as i struggle with them, not very comfortable witg low volume of fire, but they are very tanky ships. mileage may vary from person to person afterall. Good Job with this review!!!

    • @FunandGameswithTerry
      @FunandGameswithTerry  Před 3 lety

      Absolutely. They're not bad ships - there are very few truly "underwhelming" ships in the game, it's mostly up to play style preference. I'm trying to be fair in my reviews, although it obviously shines through if I don't like a line :)
      My personal style is on a strategic level. I like ships that can influence the outcome of a battle at crucial moments - e.g. a DD that can dominate caps, light cruisers that can take on any kind of opponent, or a battleship that can fire up the engines when I'm spotting an opening in the enemy formations, and break them. Things like the Odin or Richelieu are perfect BBs for me. That's not to say that USN BBs aren't valuable, or in any way worse - I feel them as "fire support" and AA ships, and they're really good at that, but I need things I can make a "decisive play" in, if that makes sense.

    Terry once you get to the Worcester it be would nice to see a Des Moines vs Worcester maxed video. Light cruiser vs heavy cruiser. Des Moines would have the higher alpha damage while Worcester would have the DPS. (Excluding the rapid reload on Des Moines) the AA would go to Worcester just in terms of the consumables. It would be interesting to see these two American cruisers duke it out. Definitely a comparison worth while.

    • @FunandGameswithTerry
      @FunandGameswithTerry  Před 3 lety +3

    • @FunandGameswithTerry
      @FunandGameswithTerry  Před 3 lety +1

      Not quite. Range is indeed limited, but she's a swimming no fly zone, and due to her gun layout, she's pretty hard to dislodge when in a defensive position next to an island.
      Centre cap lives and dies with the DDs, and while the BB line might not be in range initially, the DDs very much are. She doesn't quite have Worcester's utility, but can take a more aggressive stance, and the 203mm arcs are better.

    Historically the us mk7 gun(mk6 as well) fired the mk8 super heavy AP/C/BC shell. Those shells had as much hit as the Japanese 46cm AP shell, while nominally smaller they had a much higher velocity. It would be cool if the game reflected that in damage dealt. The mk7 gun could also fire the mk23 shell which is(as far as I know) the most powerful naval artillery shell to have ever existed. It would make for interesting matchmaking if that round was added to the game. The shell was developed in the early to mid 50’s so just about the time frame of the game. I don’t think they had any ships built after ‘49 but some of the ships were still in use up until the 90’s.

    ⚜️ It is suiting that the US Navy would've ostensibly named their penultimate battleships after Vermont and Montana, our country's most storied maritime states! I recall as a young child, being taught the story of how Christopher Columbus set sail from central Montana in 1492, on his fateful trip to locate a new trade route from Montana to China!
    ✔️ Of course, he located the trade route, and filled his hull with ramen & tomatoes. Then he set sail on the return trip, but was knocked off course by a Typhoon! Naturally, this caused his ship to crash onto the shores of a hitherto undiscovered peninsula, which is now known as "Italy".
    👉 Columbus traded ramen and tomatoes, which the natives used to invent "spaghetti" with. In return, they gave him 15th century Flex Seal, required to patch holes in the hull.
    It's good to mix in some good, hearty education whenever the opportunity arises. Knowledge is power!! 😉👍

    I agree with your sentiments here. I have the entire American tech tree except Montana and Gearing, and have since moved on to the Italian cruisers and Japanese DDs. Not sure if ill ever get Montana, as I found Iowa to be dissappointing (of course results vary but). I was excited to hear about the new BB line, and will probably at least get one if them, but the speed and insane reload dampened the excitement. Maybe next year...🤔🤣

      This is probably too late but Montana was my first T10 and I have over 65% WR with over 1.1k battles with it. I play solo most of the time. Even in todays meta it still holds up. It doesn't have any weaknesses and it's very versatile. Good speed, good guns, good AA, good maneuverability, fast reload. RR2 would make it even better and competitive. I have been playing since update 1.4. I agree Iowa is mediocre at best, it gets citadeled by every other BB and being T9 doesn't help.

    CZcams autoplay brought up your Vermont review where you thought doing 100k+ is tough in it.
    Well.. You proved yourself wrong. I'm a DD main so don't really know about high tier BBs. But do you like the German BBs because of thier brawling strengths? Or maybe long range mutual sniping isn't your choice?

    • @FunandGameswithTerry
      @FunandGameswithTerry  Před 3 lety

      This is a fully decked out Vermont, with a 12-point captain and historical camo, vs. a "free-to-play" vermont with a 10-point captain in the original review. Especially the APCs and improved accuracy in the maxed build can make a difference.
      Pretty much the only BB line I've enjoyed so far is the German one, and that's down to the fact that they are battering rams who can sail into enemy formations and wreak havoc, and have enough secondaries for me to cycle through the guns and be shooting at all times. The "sit back, and pull the trigger every 30s" thing really isn't my style, I feel that there's very little skill required in that sort of thing.

    • @FunandGameswithTerry
      @FunandGameswithTerry  Před 6 měsíci

      Yes.
      They're both good ships, but with a different focus & playstyle. Vermont hits really hard, but takes a very long time to reload. You'll need to make your salvos count, and refrain from taking shots that are likely not going to hit, like aiming at cruisers at range. Vermont mostly stays in the rear.
      Montana can play more mobile, lower gun calibre, but faster reload, and probably wants to get into closer ranges eventually to get more shots on target, take on cruisers etc.

    For Me american ships are for new players. Cause in these ships you dont have to much worry about fire and flood, planes, shells are good range is good, everything is pretty much good.
    For me the most tactical and professional play style for any bb player is of sovit BB line.
    They dont have armour, bad damge reduction, lose heath quickly, not good AA(except Kremlin),catches fire and flood quickly, very short range for a BB, poor citadel protection. With so many disadvantages its get very intresting to play. U have to get positioned behind the island to avoid as many shells. Always be with allies to get AA support. The best play style for this line is of Richelieu, always bow in forget u have a rear turret also😂.
