All Weather Public Toilet -The Dream Finally Comes True

“All-Weather Public Toilet - The dream finally comes true!” is a film on all-weather public toilets, and the importance of maintaining public sanitation and hygiene in Leh. The video highlights the simple methods in overcoming the challenge of maintaining and operating public toilets in sub-zero temperatures in the winter through this film. The all-weather community toilet at Zangsti, Leh, was conceptualised and initiated by Ladakh Ecological Development Group with the help of its funding partner BORDA South Asia and supported by Municipal Committee Leh and Leh Development Authority under the IUWM at the centre of Municipal Public Services project.

BORDA (Bremen Overseas Research and Development Association), founded in 1977, is a civil society expert organisation focused on the provision of essential public services. BORDA South Asia operates in four countries: India, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal.
According to the World Bank, 2.5 billion people do not have access to improved sanitation. Through engagement with partner organisations, BORDA South Asia aims to improve the living conditions of socially disadvantaged groups by facilitating access to basic needs services such as sanitation, wastewater management and water provision while maintaining a safe environment. This is our contribution to creating liveable cities and communities for all.

Great job, Ladakh need such more sustainable toilets in many places specially around town areas.
In fact public sometimes ate compelled to urinate in open due to lack of such public conveniences, more over all of us must use these toilets properly many people throw cigratte left overs, tissues in the urinal which is really a sign of uncivilized citizen each one of us must take our responsibility , than only we can make ladakh a beautiful place to live in we can set example for whole country.
We must learn from european tourists how responsible they are.
In fact each of us are contributing for development we some times blabe ony politicians alone we must take our responsibility too, no doubt more & more such public amenities are needed & must be planned by our bureaucrats & political representatives .
Moreover all works ate equally respectable provided if done sincerely , so i really appreciate the work specially who maintain the cleanness of these toilets.
