The cork board was a good idea to display your pins. Was surprised to have gotten a kind of/sort of glimpse of the inside of your Celebration homestead, in this video. That shrimp dinner looked awesome.
HEY ATW...ONE MORE THING...I JUST WATCHED DISNEY'S ANIMATED SLEEPY HOLLOW LAST NIGHT! I used to have to listen to the vinyl record when I was a kid! It still scares the @#$& out of me! Nothing is better than the old animated version!!
I'm partial to the Figment section. He was my favorite as a kid in the mid 80s visiting my grandparents down in Central Florida. Miss those days. Wish I still had my Figment plush, pins, glass, whatever merch I had. I still have a Captain EO plush from it's grand reveal somewhere though! Also LOVE those orange, red, purple, yellow, pink etc colored stripes from Epcot and such. Those simple designs just bring me back to the mid 80s! Magical time!
1980's Epcot was a magical time which makes me immediately think of Figment, Orange Bird , and Caption EO. I still have my Figment plushie,but the rest is gone 😔 I grew up in Central Florida, but my parents were never onto theme parks. We still regularly visited the parks though because we always had relatives visiting what wanted to go.

Straight Talk is one of my other Dolly favorites aside from 9 to 5! Having to find the soundtrack in person was hard long before iTunes released it. I’m so glad you found that movie!
We also love thrift stores. Super fun to reminisce and see all the fun stuff. There are quite a few on SR52. Not sure when you are coming this way, but worth the trip. We also have lots of pins. My dad collected a bunch that we inherited and have added to over the years. We have a wall hanging with the pins behind a MK castle cutouts. It looks awesome.
Eisner *was* the best. I enjoyed this one SO much dude, I'm so happy you decided to dump out that blue Disney bag and show us the rest of your carded pins. And DVD hunting! And thrifting?! I myself just bought a dvd set last night for something I could easily stream right now on HBO, because what happens if the internet goes out, amirite? haha. There are 4 Hope Thrift Stores in the Central Florida Area. Many have a lot of Disney stuff because they go to the Auctions when Disney remodels one of their properties. I have a few pieces from those stores. All 4 stores have a Pin wall. MY wife and I love the T-shirt, it's right up my alley! You've inspired me to get a cork board for my pins, though I have various pins going back to the 60s from Miami Dolphins to Disney'd 50th.
HEY ATW...THE LITTLE MAQUETTE OF MICKEY MOUSE PAINTING was incredible! What it meant was Mickey was painting and he was looking in a mirror. He was painting a self-portrait, and the picture he was painting was of Walt Disney!! So, his self-portrait was WALT!! YOW! That was deep! Also, your pin collection was so varied! Those Ebay days, I used to sell as well and made very good money. I would always hit up thrift stores on my days off, the stuff you find is amazing. I had to quit when fees went up, no longer worth it. Excellent day other than pin trading, sorry you didn't find any good ones. Maybe next trip.

I love Orange Bird! I remember as a small child “meeting” him in the park. I also seem to remember that they had a orange juice flavored drink in a plastic shaped orange with a sippy straw. That was one of my favorite drinks at the parks. Likely because the other options were milk or tap water. Tap water had that mineral taste…lol So the orange drink was the go to. :)
Jason showed me that first thrift store. Got most of the EPCOT Center pins from there too. Mama Melrose's is great, my close friend worked there for around 8 years and we'd go watch him work. haha

Get another corkboard for your carded pin collection: you can use either push pins or straight pins (push those in at an angle), then you can hang the cards right on the pins!

I live an hour away from Kissimmee and we go to Hope thrift every time we go through the area. They also have used furniture from Disney resorts that they sell. That place is cluttered with surprises.

something from pin trading in disney paris....... according to chris at provost park pass,the best pin to bring with you to disneyland paris is figment. they dont get them there,and the pin traders are willing to part with some of the best pins for a figment.

In the end...Kenny Rogers' Chicken goes out of business...and we are left watching Cramer, squeamishly saying...Kenny! Kenny! Kenny!😂 Good Times!
Adam, what I’ve learned about knowing real pins is they should feel smooth on the design & the Mickeys stamped on the back should go to the edge of the pin. So far this has held true for pins I have purchased at Disney compared to some I’ve traded or bought outside of Disney. So maybe it’s correct? 🤷🏼♀️ I like them either way if it’s a character I love. I went to that Hope Thrift on my recent trip & there was a turkey roaming the parking lot! Had to do a double take!
I love the corkboard idea. I have a collection of Hard Rock pins, and that will work perfectly for displaying them. I used to have a shadowbox for them, but I would definitely prefer a corkboard.

As a Floridian, save up and come join us! While some areas are ridiculously expensive like Miami and the Florida Keys, there are still some coastal towns that are very affordable amd absolutely beautiful.
I bought 30 pins for $30 on Amazon awhile ago. It's so many pins I'm still using them for trading. Also I once heard from a CM that Disney pins aren't magnetic, but fake ones are. So if you have a magnet you can test it, something about the different kinds of metals that are used.
In the U.S., Kenny Rogers Roasters closed its last store in 2011 and has since faded from public memory. In Asia, however, the restaurant brand is still going strong, with around 400 locations in Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Thailand, and many other countries.
There are two pin trading/ buying events once a month near Disneyworld. I don’t have anyone to go with. Hit me up if you want to go. Their called Disney pin Collector society and Central Florida Disney pin chasers.
You should catalog those cardbacks so you can display some of those that are just sitting in bags. Also beware of soft enamel pins, almost all Disney pins are hard enamel (shinier) - looked like some of those you were trading might be soft... Most pin-trading in the parks can be a little tricky. Might as well just purchase the pins you want - except for the hidden mickey pins which you have to trade for.
FYI: regarding your bulletin board for the pins--I have many large ones in my home. They are so handy for various things, bills, pictures, and as a quilter I use them for my prototypes. Just want to mention that I paint the frames to match the room. You can also paint the cork when it gets "tired". They last forever.

Sometimes you'll never know what type of treasure you can find at thrift shop. Those Blu-ray were a good find.

Whenever we visit from Cali, we hit up the sushi restaurant in the Dunkin plaza during happy hour! Good deal.

I used to stay at the hotel behind the big orange a few times. It was a Travelodge back then, pretty cheap, but not too bad of quality.

I bought 30 pins for $30 on Amazon awhile ago. It's so many pins I'm still using them for trading. Also I once heard from a CM that Disney pins aren't magnetic, but fake ones are. So if you have a magnet you can test it, something about the different kinds of metals that are used.

There are two pin trading/ buying events once a month near Disneyworld. I don’t have anyone to go with. Hit me up if you want to go. Their called Disney pin Collector society and Central Florida Disney pin chasers.
Also, Scott from The Tourist Trap said that if there is a Mickey on the pin, then it's a Cast-Member pin. Looks like you have a lot of those...
You should catalog those cardbacks so you can display some of those that are just sitting in bags. Also beware of soft enamel pins, almost all Disney pins are hard enamel (shinier) - looked like some of those you were trading might be soft... Most pin-trading in the parks can be a little tricky. Might as well just purchase the pins you want - except for the hidden mickey pins which you have to trade for.
FYI: regarding your bulletin board for the pins--I have many large ones in my home. They are so handy for various things, bills, pictures, and as a quilter I use them for my prototypes. Just want to mention that I paint the frames to match the room. You can also paint the cork when it gets "tired". They last forever.
