    I woke up impressively early today for winter, 3:57 AM, that's a time I might get up in the summer. I already did most of my morning routine already and it's 5:22 AM, so I'm going to enjoy the morning and maybe work on a little art I hadn't worked on in months. I let myself sleep in until 6 AM on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day (New Year's Eve is one of four nights in the year I allow myself to be up past midnight, the others are Christmas Eve, July 4th, and my birthday, and I'm usually in bed before midnight on all but New Year's Eve, where I watch the year change). Funny story, I actually tried a super early riser routine once. I got up at 2 AM for two weeks, physically I was okay at one point even considering trying an 11 PM "morning" wake up time (yes, you read that right). But I soon noticed that going to bed soon after coming home from work and depriving myself of a social life was taking its toll. A 4 AM to 6 AM wake up time I've found offers a nice balance. I still get my girls nights out on Friday and Saturday nights, I get to hang out with friends on Saturday daytime or spend time with my boyfriend, and I get some unwinding time after work but I still have the mornings and being up before the sun is awesome. This is corny but I like to say "hi" to the sun.
