The final level with the doors doesnt actually affect the P-switch timer, only the star's timer. The first time, the p-switch ended at around 289 while the star lasted much longer. The second time, the star ended at 293, and the p-switch was seemingly unaffected.
I don't think the p switch was supposed to be the one changing
Here’s what’s going on. When you enter a door, both the P-Switch timer and the level timer are paused during the entering and exiting animations, but the same does _not_ apply to the Star’s timer, which continues to countdown during the door animations. This means that going through a door over and over again will extend the P-Switch and level timers beyond the Star’s timer, making the Star run out sooner according to the in-game timer even though it takes the same amount of real-world time to run out, and also means that the invincibility will end before the P-Switch does. The P-Switch will take about the same amount of time in in-game time to run out with or without doors, but the real-world time is vastly extended when going through doors over and over again.
As far as I can tell, the Star timer is the only timer in the game that doesn’t get paused or reset during the door animations. (Timers for held lit Bob-Ombs and held knocked-over Koopas, Buzzy Beetles, Galoombas, and Goombuds, as well as timers, positions, spawns, health, activation statuses, and animations for all torches, Fire Bars, Bill Blasters, Cannons, Vine Blocks (including hidden blocks with vines), Skewers, Icicles, moving platforms (like Snake Blocks) or trampolines, falling platforms, Donut Blocks, Beep Blocks, all other items and enemies not in Mario’s hands, and bosses, plus the positions of everything on tracks, get reset when Mario goes through a door; things held by SMB2 Mario vanish to possibly be respawned when Mario enters a door; anything that gets spawned from a block (except coins) and coins knocked down by a POW Block vanish entirely, never to be respawned (except for vines), when going through a door; all other timers except the Star timer pause during the door animations (they will progress slowly if going through a door over and over again because there is a slight delay in after exiting a door before Mario can re-enter the door, during which all timers and animations can progress); and what Mario or Yoshi is holding (except for SMB2 Mario), Mario’s power-up status, anything Mario is riding or wearing, the coin counter, the life counter, the level-completion condition status, coins that are in the air and uncollected, the state of On/Off Blocks, dotted-line Blocks, Red or Blue Spike Blocks, Red or Blue moving blocks, switchable conveyor belts, and On/Off Trampolines, the collected status of coins and power-ups, and the Star timer are unaffected by doors. Also, the same things are true for entering a Warp Box or Warp Pipe but not a Clear Pipe.)

The reason for that is because your not standing on the ice, your standing on the semi solid.
Fun fact: The one about placing a semi solid underneath a ice block is actually also a myth in the newest mythbuster vids which has a thumbnail of winged bowser jr throwing a shell and a hammer.

wow I was freaked out in the video when luigi jumped a whole meter up there on the dock well, That can be possible because your in skyland which makes your jumps have low gravity.
Weird mechanic 29- mario can sit down, if you ground pound a ? Mark block or a block with a coin in it till it turns turns to an unbreakable block then if you have another coin block then get close enough to the block to were you can ground pound if but you aren't on it fully if you do this correctly then the coin block will show that mario is collecting the coin but mario is sitting down and isn't actually touching the block
