    Great comparison. Lots of transplants now in the Raleigh area. Moved from Seattle for the quality of life and lower cost of living. More sunny days too!🌞

      Glad you enjoyed it! Agreed. It's becoming a hot spot for sure.

    Yes the landscape and trees are amazing - I told my family, during the day street travel is quite picturesque, after dark the trip to 🎯 is creepy. And there are few street/road lights to break up the tree cover shadow, even in neighborhoods.

    Raleigh is great for young professionals! And it’s beautiful compared to Dallas. However Dallas airport connects you to almost everywhere in the planet

    As a NC native, it's getting a little scary with all the transplants coming into Raleigh. A lot of people don't understand or respect southern culture but are swooping in and trying to pretend we're California 2.0. .... we are not.
    Raleigh is the city of oaks, but we may lose the name at the rate of trees that are being cut down 😅

      Speaking as a transplant myself I think everyone deserves a shot at finding a place they feel at home in. Raleigh is a hot spot for sure, as is Florida and Texas. It will be interesting to see how things develop on all fronts over time. Protect the trees! That’s why I moved here

    I moved to Raleigh many years ago as a native Dallasite. I was hopelessly lost all the time when I moved to Raleigh. The tall trees make the roads into a rat's maze; and the roads are sooo dark at night. Even the highways. You can read a book by streetlight anywhere in Dallas. You can always see where you want to go in Dallas. Raleigh still had a small North Carolina town feel when I moved here. Drive outside town and Tobacco fields were everywhere. Since then the tobacco is gone, Raleigh has demographically flipped entirely to become a northeast yankee city. You would be hard pressed to find a southern accent in Raleigh these days. I can't believe the cost of living is higher in Raleigh, my brother and my mom in Dallas spend $600 for gas, electricity, and water was really expensive. Property taxes in Texas are so much worse. They go up every single year in Dallas. So forget the NC income tax, it more than balances out. The climate much milder in Raleigh, although much more humid. I could play tennis when 105 degrees in Dallas, could never do that in Raleigh. Dallas has literally thousands of restaurants and I miss that, I also miss all the happenings, but everywhere you want go is a 2-4 hour drive from Raleigh, places you would need to get on a plane to enjoy from Dallas. Raleigh is also so much prettier.

    Thank you, great video. Currently thinking about moving to Raleigh from Arkansas. My only concern is that houses are very expensive, but Raleigh offers the lifestyle I want.

      More than happy to chat with you about our home prices. Lot of good options even with higher prices when you look at new construction offering lower rates and other solutions. Feel free to text or call anytime.

    Spot on. Having moved to Raleigh from Dallas 2 years ago, we miss the people, the food and the Texas culture. We love the trees, the hills and the four seasons in Raleigh.

    Interesting comparison. Dallas(DFW) is the size of Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, Greensboro/Winston-Salem/High point and metro Charlotte combined and your still short 600k people lol! I’m not hating as I’m from NC and now reside in Metro Dallas. Austin would have been a better comparison, but even it’s more comparable to Charlotte these days.

      Austin blew up lately. I considered it but still SOO HOT AND HUMID. And now super expensive like jeez. Coming from Dallas I have ZERO isssues with size of the Triangle. It’s big enough to have an incredible life here

    How is Raleigh for retirees? I’m retiring next year and considering a move to North Carolina from Dallas!

    • @Itsbenjamincarver
      @Itsbenjamincarver  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I talk to retirees here all the time. It entirely depends on the climate you want. But so much to do here and housing is still affordable enough that you can find something really nice with lots of nature surrounding you. Us news has it ranked in top 30 cities for best places to retire.

      @griggins6205 trees are the first thing you'll notice and coming from Dallas my gosh they are everywhere. It's like a forest at times.
