@@jeanettebranco1910 I think it may have been she thought Ralph would take Dane away from her to be raised among the Catholic clerics in Rome (where he eventually became a priest himself). But otherwise, yes - she should have told Ralph - he was so heartbroken when she finally DID tell him.

@diamondkal I couldn't agree with u more best greatest love story of all time period most definitely .I watched this when I was a teenager it certainly influence my romantic side..
I don't know why Rachel didn't fall in love with Richard instead of her future husband. I'm sure she knew Richard was gay, but I fell in love with him for the special person he is. I watched Dr. Kildare when I was much younger and thought he had a perfect face. So handsome and still is!

They can can marry in the eastern rite not the western rite. Most people do not know that.
If they could, the RCC wouldn't have near the amount of problems they have had through the years.
