I actively avoid working for dealerships. When asked I give them my price for interior & exterior and the response was "wow, our last guy only charged $50 per car." I told them they needed to find a teenager with a bucket in that case. đ€·ââïž
I think you made the right choice. regardless of what is said verbally, if they wanted to do you dirty, they very well can and will refer to what the "contract" said and completely negate the verbal/phone agreement.
You made the right choice. If a car dealer, whether used or new, should not have to try pressure you under their terms, but rather you under your terms.
The moment you submit to their terms you become their employee.
There is not one person on earth that a car dealer wouldn't screw over if it meant another 5.00 bucks in their pocket. You made the right choice.
You did good bro. Never ignore your gut instinct Iâm sure you got saved for what was about to comez
Best decision made, you took all the necessary precautions taking the time to read the documents that if skipped through maybe couldâve been troublesome down the line. I never experienced working as a subcontractor for a dealership, however a couple months ago I received a similar phone call from a local Union Bank asking me prices because they were needing someone to come and take care of their vehicles. I explained I only work with private owners & Not fleet accounts.
They always want the highest level of work for the lowest price possible.
I dont think that you could have handled this situation any better. Great business decision!!! I think you did yourself a huge favor! đđŸđđŸđđŸđđŸ
Not only would that be a very firm "No, from me, I would struggle not to laugh in their faces. Those terms are not only unreasonable, but clownish and delusional. I pity anyone who signs such a contract (read: not, "agreement").
I think you should spread the word about this dealership amongst your fellow detailers to help ensure no one gets taken advantage of by them.
You could've charged double your maximum price, that way you win whether it's a complete detail or a simple wash.
Since car dealerships have terrible reputations and would lie to make a sale, you did the right thing.
What someone says verbally means nothing. The contract or agreement is what counts.
Another red flag is they donât want to go to court locally. Who in their right mind would travel to Arizona to litigate?
This is more proof why you shouldnât trust or do business with car dealers. They have bad reputations for a reason!
As someone who used to sell cars, the used vehicles will 9 times out of 10 be absolutely trashed! They would need a full detail in and out and engine bay detail to be ready for sale. I've declined dealership contracts for that very reason
You made the right choice bro!!!
Could you do a video in how to use the 500 dollar setup from a previous video ?
Good on you. Those terms were off.
I have the excat samething going on with me here in mid florida as you do, it's crazy what this dealer said all he espected of me as a detailer, just a simple wipe down, maybe some spots removed and a wash for $75.00 a vehicle, so i went and looked at the first car and these cars are bought from an auction so in complete disarray would take at least 6hrs a vehicle, how dum do these people think we are??? a $75.00 detail, I told him to take his vehicles to a car wash service and see if they would even allow him to bring it through. Sheeesh...
Very!!! Suusssssssss to me, bro. You made the right decision, bud.
Wise business decision
Thanks again randy
Good decision, they sounded sketchy
I will not work or detail cars from the dealershipđđ»đđ»đđ»đđ»đđ»đ€Ź
Doing details for dealerships sucks ass. They also want to you to wash cars brand new inventory, wash service vehicles and wash/deliver sold units. You don't only have to worry about the dealership but also the customer
I would have passed on it all together
You could of gave them a price for a full detail even if it was a maintenance wash 500 a least
Who ever takes that job got bamboozled
Will you still be doing a giveaway?
dealerships literally will paint you the prettiest picture and if you not careful theyâll fck u over
dealerships in general are shady asf. used dealerships even moreso lol
