I've been on a ventilator and I loved the noise it made, it was like a sedative. The word ventilator tickles my ears when I hear it.

@@katybrennan8222 I thought being on a ventilator was very uncomfortable?
Since they put endotracheal tube down to tour lungs.
I am currently designing a low cost-hospital grade ventilator for helping covid 19 patient.
I'll make sure it has a cute noise!

@@muhammadjoshua7464 I had a tracheostomy in my throat, much more comfortable than the tube in the mouth.

Why water is required in vetillator?
If patients is critical condition than why don't give only pure oxygen to patients?

Hi: With an artificial airway like an ETT in place, the patients normal means of humidifying their natural airway no longer participates in humidifying the inspired air. When we start to ventilate with a ventilator, we're providing ventilation and oxygenation at the same time. Crucial to the patients well being is added moisture with either a humidifying device (humidifier) or a heat moisture exchanger (HME). The heat and moisture from these devices help to maintain the patients bronchial toilet to remove secretions avoiding complications that could occur with retained secretions.
