You truly work one of the last American frontiers. You carry on a proud legacy. Ranchers helped build this beautiful country. One steak at a time. Thanks for sharing a part of American history.
As kids we always road bare back with a halter and grab a gob of Maine to hang on Steering but no brakes 🤣 Fifty years later give me a kids western sattle on a short horse ... good to go 🤠
Thanks for the video. I’ve had horses for years and love any thing you post with horses involved. Looks like beautiful country. Seems God has blessed you with a wonderful life.
Your videos bring back memories of my workin on my cousin's cattle ranch back in the 1950's. Droppin hay and salt licks in the pastures, fence mending and all the work it took keepin the ranch workin. I miss those days so thanks for rekindling my old brain's memories.
I’m glade the task went smoothly! I’ve led horses tied head to tail, the biggest problem we had was navigating through the forest, especially if they didn’t like to play follow-the-leader and stay on the trail. They must have been weary of the ice because usually moving horses can turn into a race. Calibar is getting some good airtime, he’s becoming a CZcams celebrity!!
Man,you truly get to look at gods country . Im so jealous. I feel down my steps and broke a rib been like a month but I yell ya I swear it feels like I just broke it today! For some reason. Im hoping that's cause its healing. Ughhh!
It really shows a man’s character, when he thinks ahead of putting a cold bit into the horses mouth in such cold Mutual respect between You and the horse ❤ Those are the tiny bits, that got me hooked and absolutely in love with this channel,it teaches you bout respect, caring, how not to fuck up urself into a wheelchair and friend and companion ship ❤️ Mesmerizing
This is for real, folks! Love the preflight check. I think I would have put the bit in my armpit to warm up and used the bridle, though. So true about the horses running. Maybe just too cold and they also knew it was slippery.
Thank you for sharing! I do love it when you use a halter only and no bit…. Perhaps you could do a video on horse tac …especially bits on a halter…. I think bits are cruel? I think your just the right guy to explain how and why along with the do’s and don’t s Thank you again!!! Please stay safe and warm!!! Kathy Washington State🇺🇸🎄🎅🏼🤶🏻
So... My hat is off to you. If I tried this with our hunters and jumpers... The sky would fall and everyone would die. Lol! Awesome job! Awesome video.
I love watching these videos. I am learning alot about Ranching I would not ever know. I live in Connecticut am I’m no Rancher but I really enjoyed watching these videos. Thank you Trinity 😊
All my appys I can not ride them for 4 entire months, first chance in the spring dont even have to lunge them just put a saddle on them and they are fine...the other people at my barn have OTT thoroughbreds they tried it once...they came back limping and walking back to the barn getting thrown off...lol
Thank you for sharing this. I live in Mexico City and even in winter we will never get as cold as you guys do. I know nothing abput ranch life, but I admire you guys, you are the people who truly knows what does it take to do the things most of the people just take for granted.
The old rancher i worked for when i was just outta high-school, out by Drummond mt, told me if you were to ever move a herd of horses any distance, that you were to ride a Stud horse. He said that the herd respected the stud. What do you think about his reasoning Trinity? I rode that old ranchers stud on a cattle drive up hill through timber. Even after my brother tuckered him out he was the most horse i have ever rode.
Just found your channel. We use to live across the hwy from the Flynn Ranch. My eldest son started 1st grade in the old Toston school. By the looks of your videos it appears you are farther down river. Nice to see the country again but I had no idea it got soo expensive. I helped a guy named Mike Lewis feed cows and he was across the river behind our place, this was in the early 80's. At that time he said ground was going for $250.00 an acre.
So, why so many horses on a cattle ranch? I grew up on farms/ranches in E Africa. This snow stuff is blowing my mind! We never had shoes on our horses, so there was a whole other level of care that did not involve spikes for footing. Thank you, your horsemanship, knots, and calls are so superior to anything I leaned.
maybe as they age to around 7 or 8 he sells them to the weekend warriors who show cutters - and he probably needs plenty of back up - and as I'm sure you know every horse is different and that goes for their capabilities as well
How does that sun feel? I mean, here in Mexico City the sun kinda burns even in winter. Hahaha sorry if my question is weird but I am really curious about it. When the sun shines like that here, it's gonna burn our skin hehe.
Here in my part of the country, we get lots of ice storms. So when the roads are froze over you have to stay to the roadside. Never put ice control shoes on them cuz when you put them together you get a lot of cut up horses. Especially with ice control shoes. Someone get out in front, someone in back everything works fine. But I love that Montana country.
Beautiful country, and lots of experience! Thank you for taking us all along and teaching us what ranching in Montana is all about. In the 1800's what did riders do about riding on ice? Did they put special shoes on or just ride without shoes?
I'm also curious...... Why do y'all keep so many horses? Most cattle ranches down here in Texas don't run that many head of horses, as it gets too expensive to feed horses that aren't working/earning their keep.
wonderful. greetings from germany and - even if a bit too late - a happy new year and - hopefully - a better president and no people like the clintons, bushes, obamas, soros, kissinger, rockefellers and rothchild in charge anymore. love for the usa and a maga from germany
I shared your video w/a friend in Florida, & she wanted to know what kind of heaters you have on your horses & how they work. I thought you could do 1 of those short videos here & explain.
In my experience, it depends on how many people ride the same horse; the more people ride the horse, the more on reins, the less on voice. But, damn! SO many horses for a ranch. There has to be a horse business on top of the cattle business.
Nope! Brother, your braver than me. I'm putting boots on my shoeless mount if I'm riding on ice. JS. I hate going down with a mount. Going down on ice is even worse. What are your temps over there?? We've been 1° to 6° by day, and all negatives at night next door. (Western ND for my job, not home in WY) . Warmer today 17. I see we got more snow than you again. So weird, I'm not that far from MT. Near Dickinson, less than 60 miles.
Great video as always, but I could do without the Subscribe/Click graphic zipping in and out. That's a bit distracting but if it gets you more subs, I can live with it :)
Most ranches (at least in West TX) have a bone yard or place where horses & cattle are placed after they die. Nature takes its course and they return to the earth. Sometimes, if there is a excavator to use, a horse will be buried.
If there is a way to reach out I would do it. I'm a hard worker and far from stupid but at the same time totally green.. greener than the grass in midsummer
I’ve never broken a bone but have “tried” to doing stoopid stuff, ha ha! But I’ve torked my back enough times to know what PAIN is. It leaves you helpless! Take care brother! Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year’s to you and your family.
You truly work one of the last American frontiers. You carry on a proud legacy. Ranchers helped build this beautiful country. One steak at a time. Thanks for sharing a part of American history.
That lead horse,
Dude quit pulling on my tail!!
It's not my fault, the guy tied me here!! 😂😂
Exactly what he was thinking. At least in my mind. I thought it was funny too.
As kids we always road bare back with a halter and grab a gob of Maine to hang on
Steering but no brakes 🤣

"I trust him a little too much maybe." Prophetic words that are soon to come true.

A peace of exellent horsemenship of you ask me...?👍 The "tail-walk-solution" is absolutely awsome!!!☝️😄 Great horses, and Calibar is a great one👌! 🇧🇪

Your videos are the best! ☃️
Love watching your videos 👍. Thanks for sharing
Really enjoyed this video! The horses are so beautiful and so is the scenery! ♥️
Love your videos. I can feel the cold through the screen.

New intro looks real professional and very good
I love watching these videos. I am learning alot about Ranching I would not ever know. I live in Connecticut am I’m no Rancher but I really enjoyed watching these videos. Thank you Trinity 😊
They talk about The cowboy Way to me The cowboy Way is when something needs doing you get it done one way or the other 👍🐝
You sometimes have a comical way of doing things. Thanks Trinity and watch yourself out there.
Enjoyed the video. Thank you kindly!

Cowboy be careful! I just love your videos!
we started using glushu's with spikes a few years back in the winter, amazing and the hoof flexes and keeps snow out, Bosal and Mecates all the time,
Awesomeness!
That is Beautiful and quiet
Thanks for the great content!
I love it! I never thought to tie to tail. Its beautiful but cold. I love the vidéos and Calibeur
Old packer's trick. Not used much anymore.
I know it's a lot harder than people think but man I'd love to be able to work with horses every day
6" of snow will make a lot of change this week.

Hi always nice to see you and your horses. What are your gloves ?
Hooking the horses was cool I never thought of doing that
Love the videos !!
Great video,
Isn't it nice when a plan actually works? 🤣🤣 Everyone co operated so nicely.
Thsnk you for sharing.
Thank ...
@@karenlbellmont6560 I really appreciate how you keep the horses safety in your mind. You know what you are doing and safety should always be first.
Hi there from Québec Canada ! we know winter here too! hihi. do you have winter shoes (with the spikes) on your horses!? thx again for awsome videos!

I used a hackimore in the winter and drilled shoes welded bearings vertical 4 total pr shoe, ride carful they grip great, Montana horses.
Dang it sure looks cold .
Have a Merry Christ’mas and Happy New Years Trinity
Man thank u for sharing yo life
Be safe; this is tough stuff!!

Are you really as nice as you appear to be, kind
Could you do a video on why y’all have so many horses? Do y’all breed or are they all just using horses?
How does that sun feel? I mean, here in Mexico City the sun kinda burns even in winter. Hahaha sorry if my question is weird but I am really curious about it. When the sun shines like that here, it's gonna burn our skin hehe.

Good job.
Do you deal in horses, or what, we neve had that many horses in the plant on a 1000 square mile cattle property in Queensland Australia
the hardest thing to get a young horse to do is go in a straight line - especially in wide open space when it's windy
Teach them how to go straight before you get on.
Beautiful country, and lots of experience! Thank you for taking us all along and teaching us what ranching in Montana is all about. In the 1800's what did riders do about riding on ice? Did they put special shoes on or just ride without shoes?
Seems so hard too do by yourself, but your good at your job

Thank you for your Thoughts! There is very little on TV for me to watch.
I have been on trail rides where we tied them to the tail and it worked well
Hyped up, hot and stupid. 😅😅 well said
I'm also curious...... Why do y'all keep so many horses? Most cattle ranches down here in Texas don't run that many head of horses, as it gets too expensive to feed horses that aren't working/earning their keep.
What part of Montana are you in?. I have family that are cattle ranchers up around 2 dot, an Bozeman just wondering how close you are?

Horses need traction; like semi-tractors I run.
What is the purpose of your horses? Training, riding or selling?
You should set something up to let people work/ tour with you for a whole day or something. Would be cool
I shared your video w/a friend in Florida, & she wanted to know what kind of heaters you have on your horses & how they work. I thought you could do 1 of those short videos here & explain.
I’m so curious??? Where do ya get these Horses? Do you ever get Wild Mustangs???
ARE THEY ALL YOUR saddle horse
Curious, do yall teach horses voice commands or is it more about how you move and bridle/bit work.
In my experience, it depends on how many people ride the same horse; the more people ride the horse, the more on reins, the less on voice. But, damn! SO many horses for a ranch. There has to be a horse business on top of the cattle business.
Any of you folks need any hay out that way? I have alot from this summer we had a great year last year!
MN cow chaser. ☺
Do you ever take on weekly help I would love to learn more about ranching

Tying to the tail is recipe for disaster. If that horse spooks the front ones gonna be missing a tail or have a broken one.
Maybe they know they're on camera so they're behaving lol
Are you from Montana??
If so how many generations back?
As a retired veteran I would love to volunteer just to learn.
Thats a lot of horses what do you do with them
I love the black and withe horses 2 of them
NO,No! This is going to hurt you
Is that how you get bucked
Show
What do you do with a horse when it dies?
Most ranches (at least in West TX) have a bone yard or place where horses & cattle are placed after they die. Nature takes its course and they return to the earth. Sometimes, if there is a excavator to use, a horse will be buried.
@@cowgirlemporium Thank you. I’ve always wondered.
👍
How many wolves did you kill to day?
today
As many hardships as winter has there ide swap ya for Australian summers any day . So sick of Australia its a hellhole in summer .
If there is a way to reach out I would do it. I'm a hard worker and far from stupid but at the same time totally green.. greener than the grass in midsummer
