Id like to see more Dean,Harley Benton,Jacksons,ESP,and B.C.Rich hanging on the walls.
I get it with the "select"guitars, but not everyone wants to play those, just saying.
All the background music is really great in this vid Ray, excellent job
Dude your riffs are always hella sick! Wish I could be your drummer! Nice video as always and that Gretsch is sweet af!
Thanks for this video, I'm in South Philly and never knew about this place, I'm definitely going to check them out.
Nice choice with the Gretsch! I also appreciate you keeping things real by leaving the doorbell interruption in as part of the video. Keep it up man!
I was just watching a recent video of yours and thought wait isn’t that Ray who visited Russo’s music store in cc Philly? Yep. I’m so relieved we have a guitar store there. A legit one. A great guitar repair guy as well. I wish they were slightly closer to me but just glad to have them here. Their store is absolute coolness inside. Thx Ray. Stay well.
Nice looking store, looks like they had some interesting pedals. Thanks for this one. Also in Delco.
Thanks for giving Philly some love. I work in Philly and live in Southern NJ. I had never been to Russo’s but will check it out now that I know how cool it is.
I've never been too Philly but you got some great shots man place looks NEAT and i dig yur choice
the instrumentals are mixed really well. Could be cool to see an updated video of how you do your mixes.
Ah man, I thought for sure it would have been the other one lol but that is awesome nonetheless and glad you had a good experience 🤘🔥🔥🤘
Was at Knotfest yesterday, you’ll be happy to know Jim Root was there! 🥰 This series, going to non chain guitar shops is definitely interesting. Lots of interesting guitars there you don’t see at the chain stores.
Love this video your Vloging is on point Philadelphia is a beautiful city ❤️🔥🤟🏾
i really enjoy the clean stuff you played
these vidoes are very fun to watch keep it up!
Great video! I haven't been to the Philly Russo's, but I recommend that you visit the ones in Hamilton and Asbury Pak (both NJ). Keep up the good work!
There's a couple guitars in the style of that Gretsch you should check out. Schecter Ultra-VI (available in silverburst) Hellcat-VI and Hellraiser C-VI. Also Ibanez has a SRC6 which is also a similar instrument but with more of a bass aesthetic. Might be worth checking out.
"We have private rooms in the back where we can set you up with the cleanest amp you've ever tried to play thru!"
lol! I can't wait unit you set it free!
Love these series of videos.
If you ever find your way to Chicago, Chicago Music Exchange is amazing. Stopped in there when I was visiting for work. Amazing store and staff.
always cool to go check out new music stores.
I haven't lived in philly for close to 12 years now and miss it ever day. Thanks for taking me down memory lane. But man, we didnt have nuthin like that when I was there. There was 8th street music, which was on 11th. But that place was uhh, interesting. Blue bond was the place to go for used guitars. Over on 4th and south. Bought several of my guitars there.
Wow, that Reverend baritone sounded great!
You need a gimbal bro also , new band sounds rad !!
Nice! Love Gretsch! It would be cool to see you play a Charvel!
Nice siteseeing. Nice buy. For next upload, maybe use a stabilizer for the gopro :) You rock 🤘
Bro..... Nice hoodie! I want that Shit 😆 not a fan of baritone but i see why you like them my dude! Heavy sounds
Definitely hit up carters when you get to Nashville. 🤘
RUSSO music is definitely a top notch store if your a guitar player I go to the one in Asbury Park New Jersey down the street from all the Clubs like the Stone Pony and the Saint.
I spent a portion of my honeymoon in Philly and we stayed in that double tree Hilton that walked/parked in 🤘🏻
I wanna go back and visit again I had fun last time. Hello Dan 👋🙂
Can't go wrong with a Gretsch! I have a jet and a hallowbody and love them both.
Random guy singing Frank Zappa had me dying laughing for some reason
Bobby Brown no less at least they moved on before the spindle lyric.
Philly's got some good spots that give the city a good name of sorts. Having Camden right across the river though, oof lol
When I was 17 I took my first drive to downtown Philly and got turned around on all the one-way streets and ended up crossing the bridge into Camden by mistake....man I must say I regretted that trip haha.

Mufasa: Look, Simba. Everything the light touches is our kingdom
Simba: What about that shadowy place?
Mufasa: That's Camden. You must never go there, Simba
@@PatSporrerMusic77 The Philly grid system is actually VERY easy to navigate, if you just have someone sit you down, and explain it. But I remember when I first moved there. It was very confusing and overwhelming. HOWEVER, I have to ask, how did you accidently cross the Ben Franklen bridge?!
Nice Ray!
When your down in the Tampa Bay Area check out the Sam ash in Clearwater just on the other side of the bay it’s a pretty cool store
Good to see Philly again, been years, great guitar shops there, if you're ever in the Gettysburg area hit me up, I'll take you on a guitar tour.
The guy doing ZAPPA was awesome !
@@Utubesup7890..... damn, used to be a few really cool places. Been a long time since I made the trip.
@@rodrossi9749 there was a shady store I bought some guitars from but they moved. The repair shop couldn’t even install my pick ups correctly. A crummy used gear place. Took it back. Got recharged again. A lot each time. It still doesn’t work. There’s a cheap place on so. st and another junky tiny tiny junk store in another part of so st. There should be a ton of nice stores here. It’s a music city.
Russos is my only hope. But they need more custom shop stuff. And as I said I wish they were closer so I could do trades.
@@Utubesup7890 ...... I'm in Gettysburg, there is litterly thousands of guitars within 40 miles of me. Our closest store has almost 2000 in stock at all time.
We have a guy that added onto his house and has 1500 guitars jammed in there.
2 Guitar Centers within an hour of me. And some of the absolute best luther's in the country. Gotta say, I have it made.
The grl in code orange uses the pickup that come in reverend call railhammer which get nasty the best of ways ,the Gretch are nice I am glad u like Russo , I been going to Russo for years , there 3 now asbury park nj , Hamilton nj, Philly pa
Ray Im tellin you go to Guitar Center on Route 18 in New Brunswick Nj....the inventory is so good and they have a ton of amps and heads too
I'm gonna be honest, I actually had no idea there was a New Brunswick in New Jersey since I mostly knew it in Canada (and this is coming from a Canadian) but that's cool to know
@@andrewpappas9311 yes there is a New Brunswick which is like a small city, east Brunswick, North and south Brunswick
Awesome 🤩 guitar 🎸✅
got my first guitar on South Street (epiphone LP). Im from Pottstown.
Ray first of all I totally respect the armed forces so I want to thank you for your service. That being said I’ve been following you for about a year I’m about the age your dad would I love hard rock and metal I’ve gone back in time and checked out some of your earlier entry’s you have really done a lot of growth love the Vlogs guitar shopping and reviewing. The blue tele with the mirror pickguard is what I would have got
Reverend guitars are just a good time
Reminds me of New York. Something going on around every turn.
Yeah Delco! Didn't even know this place existed. Are you the only baritone in the band? Thanks for the vids.
Great!
yo Ray the music at the beginning of your videos si that you ,,,and is it a whole song and where can i get it...
I live in San Antonio and our inventory of guitars at our local Sam Ash guitar aren’t even a third of what you have in PhiladelphiaI’ve never seen that many guitars even before Covid here in San Antonio as a bass player I’ve never seen or held a Spector bass and in your vid there’s like 10 right off the bat just hanging there …. Must be nice
Architecture is cool in your city
Yo Ray where in Delco man? I grew up in Clifton hgts and also lived in Kensington for 16 years
I’m from Pittsburgh I been to Philly.
I miss going to Philly
You need a ESP eclipse e2
George's Music ... North Wales, PA
Ray - does the type of cheese you put on a cheesesteak affect guitar tone? Whiz vs provolone tone shootout. #tonecheese
That’s such a ridiculous question man. Come on, this is a guitar channel.
And we all know whiz is the real deal! Don’t ask such stupid questions! 😉😂😂
cool buy bro
Why are we not talking about the busker doing Zappa?
Do a giveaway for your fender beanie
Pennsylvania is Philadelphia and Pittsburgh and everywhere else in PA is like Alabama. Bahahaha .I live in North Central No-where Pennsylvania.
JayKay from Jamiroquai plays a mean guitar
Brotha Love 🩸
Ahhhh is that the Riff War with Fluff that I hear 4:20 👈🤪
Update: Now that I've seen the whole video I have that exact Gretsch London Gray Baritone model & it sounds TOTALLY different in the right kind of amp. Dude.....gotta be honest tried bariees just not my thing but I have that exact Gretsch model & it sounds different with a EVH 5150 iii. Trust...I've tried it out & it's way better with the right type of amp head. I used a EVH 5150 standard(not stealth) whilst it's not bad it's not my cup of tea. I got a FearFactory/Meshuggah tone going & I thought the Gretsch would get me the 8 string Meshuggah in a 6 string but alas I was wrong. But you should maybe try it out with different factors to get a better sound.
Thats funny, I got hit by a car at Broad and Locust!
Check Out “ Depinto Guitars “ in Fish Town
Ray: "Gretsch guitars aren't really metal machines, at all."
Loathe: "Hold my beer."
Fr tho, stoked that you finally got your hands on that beast. They're brutal as hell and I love them. One of my dream axes right there, at least as far as production models go. There's a couple that are leagues above it, but would be custom builds, and thus several times the price. Stay safe, hope all goes well with the surgery, and take care!
W.C. Fields headstone reads.."I'd rather be here then in Philadelphia"...fact...
🤘Killadelphia
Best music store in philly was Cintiolis
Ray, where are your legs? All I see is a floating torso.
Some music stores will “can I help you?” To death.
Your city looks strange to me I live in the woods
Huh?
Philadelphia doesn’t get a lot of love. But it’s okay, it’s well deserved
EARLY
There used to be a Russo's in Omaha.
No PRS? Wack
Go to K and A and get some H
@@xanderraymondcharles Haha, congratulations on the new guitar, that model is on my short list.
Nah I think he's good on that not to mention good luck finding real heroin it's a world of Mexican fetynal out there 😉
I wear my mask anytime i am indoors or in a crowd but i never understood why people wear a mask outside when they are alone? Its like driving in the car by yourself and wearing a mask, I dont get it?
Other than a few les pauls, and that MESA, nothing in that place interested me. Seems to cater to a different player, than what a metal channel is geared to
Sam ash is way better than guitar center
I have to say, I am actually not very impressed with the music stores in Philly. Nothing to special.
Dude… don’t be one of those guys walking around in open air with a mask on… it’s ridiculous
You should take the trip to the russo’s in asbury park too Ray, they have a store in Hamilton too but the asbury store is better. Good luck with the upcoming surgery. Stay strong brother and don’t let the surgery put you back on a bad path. You know what I mean. I wish you the best. You are a inspiration in a lot of ways man.
