      Just getn into serato. Also getn into DJ Pro so i can use my ipad with my numark controller. I stopped dj'n about 9 yrs ago and i used to use cd's, sold most of them back then and still have about 200 in closet. Now im doing it just as a hobby, trying to learn how to use serato and dj pro. Video like these make it easy.
      I was also looking for a video on how to transfer music from google drive but didnt find any, if you know of one please share, much appreciated. Again, thanks for this video, it makes it easy for us newbies learning serato.

    @justaskcarlos I'm going from an old macbook mid 2012 to a new macbook. Old Macbook has itunes (yosemite), new macbook has music app.(Monterey). I've been trying to move all my music from itunes over to my external drive so I can dj on my new macbook. Problem I have is that Ive always used my playlists on itunes to dj, not crates. I've tried to transfer my playlists, then move my music over to the external but sometimes they dissappear and go orange on serato or get lost, any tips on how to properly make this migration?

    • @JustAskCarlos
      @JustAskCarlos  Před 2 lety

      Make sure you rename your hard drive to the same name as the old one. Serato has the directories saved for your music and if the drive name doesn’t match it can’t find your songs

    Hey this is great info and I appreciate you but I had a question...How did you get the Automatically Add to Itunes Folder or do I just create another folder with that name and it will automatically transfer the music to my Apple Music Songs list?

    • @JustAskCarlos
      @JustAskCarlos  Před 3 lety +1

      That folder exists wherever you point your iTunes/music library. That’s the folder you drop new music into that iTunes reads and imports your files and organizes automatically. Look at your preferences and see what folder you chose for your music library and you’ll find that folder inside.

    Hey, JustAskCarlos, thanks for the information, I try what you said, an it worked great, but the problem, I am having is that all the songs in my iTunes playlist, do not copy over to my Serato playlist. All of my music is saved to an external hard-drive, is there any-thing you can recommend to solve this problem.

    • @JustAskCarlos
      @JustAskCarlos  Před 2 lety +1

      If you have songs that won’t copy over and you’re certain they are downloaded and purchased music, not downloaded through an Apple Music subscription, you should be able to drag over to Serato. If not, check to be sure the file is mp3 by right clicking and show in library/finder

    So what's your method for staying organized after you transfer everything you want from iTunes into Serato? Do you then have to manage 2 seperate libraries (iTunes and Serato)? Is there a way to keep your iTunes playlists synced with the corresponding Serato crates? I love the idea of not reading iTunes library in Serato (the new Apple Music app and Serato integration has been nothing but a headache for me). But I hate the idea of having to sort new music twice in different programs. Anyway to avoid managing 2 libraries?

    • @JustAskCarlos
      @JustAskCarlos  Před 2 lety

      The video shows exactly what I do. Serato is only pointing to where the files exist and I have crates of music from past events and sorted by decade, genre, or the month I downloaded new music. iTunes organizes my file every time I download new music by placing the files into “automatically add to Music” folder and from there drag into Serato crate I created for that month. iTunes organizes, then I drag the songs into a Serato crate and I’m done

    Hey what’s up man. I’m a DJ as well. I have a dilemma. The other day i was listening to music in the music app. My speakers are connected to a ddj sr. I turned off the dj controller & my hard drive disconnected for some reason after turning off ddj sr. Inclosed the music app & after my hard drive loaded back up, I reopened the music app. Now for some reason, none of my music or playlists are showing in itunes. I clicked option then clicked on the music app to choose a library & when i choose the library on my hard drive, itunes opens up empty with no music or playlists. My songs & playlists still appear & play in searato but not itunes. Any ideas?
