  • In this video I showcase the first step to installing a successful railing system. I used Regal Ideas railings, but this method will apply to all railing installs.

This video is the best one I have ever searched on CZcams. It shows preparation of underneath the deck for long deck screws. This is so important to secure posts with peace of mind. Thank you!!

Great video installation. Glad I found your channel since I am about to install these railings on my deck project.

Glad I can help. The railings have been very easy in comparisomln to the prefab railing systems at bigger stores. I rather enjoy these for the durability and simplicity.

Great video guys - very clear and love the underside view - came here with just that question (also personally love those lag screws as well)

Great video! Thanks for the information on the blocks under the posts. It is exactly what I was looking for.

Great video very helpful but just one question you said you want the center of the post hole positioned at 1 1/2" in from the edge. Given how you showed the blocking does that not put the mounting screw going into a seam between the rim and the block or does that not matter?

    How long are those screws?

GRK? 6" for making sure you have at least 3" embedment.

@@HandcraftedbyChrisPalmer Great video, You are saying that the GRK RSS screws you show in the video are 6"? Appears shorter.

@fedora5926 6" is the minimum I use, to get a stronger hold. You technically need to get 3" of a lag into the material, plus deck board and the post base it works out to be the best size.
