Measurement of class I and II devices and an extension cord using the Sonel PAT-86 meter

In the video, we take a look at techniques for performing safety tests on power tools and electrical extension cords. An important aspect is the knowledge of standards and legal regulations. The examination begins with a visual test, then proceeds to the measurement of the resistance of protective connections (class I devices), insulation resistance and leakage currents. The checkup should be carried out with extreme caution, especially with power tools ( e.g., angle grinder). A visual test is extremely important. It may happen that due to the poor external condition of the device, it cannot remain in operation - even when its electrical parameters meet the requirements!
