He is already the highligt of the show.
Based on face value
Agreed to both.
Master Sol is one of those characters Iâm interested in right next to the twins, and Jacki.
I wonder how the whole "everyone that see's the sith has to die" works out, it could be a major issue.
Unless this guy turns out not to be a Sith, and instead is some random dark side user (I hope not but we'll see)
Like the previous replier said, I wouldn't be surprised if this "Sith" isn't actually one.
@@darthgamer9468 Yeahh, I get the feeling they're not going to be an actual villain, just another "misunderstood" sob story force user who we learn through flashback that their family was killed when they were a child and then blames the Jedi for it. Calling it now. I also theorize they'll get half the shows screentime and the group of Jedi will get the other. If they are actually well written and a bit nuanced it could still be good but we'll have to wait and see. I'd also like to point out that the director and writer of this show has mainly only done rom-coms in the past so my expectations are not very high. Then again, this could be their chance to break out of that cycle and cement themselves as a good director/writer. Only time will tell
â@@mustardeater5162it probably will be so. Even in legends there were many dark side users who were not sith during that period, and Jedi encountered them
When I heard the line, I thought of the âbut you are not a Jedi yetâ Vader line from episode 5
Baylan Skoll in Ashoka said the line too.
I really wish theyâd get someone as good as Nick Gillard involved for the lightsaber duels nowadays.
While maybe not to that level they do have the main fight choreographer from Daredevil, Punisher, and The Witcher working on a few episodes (he's the guy that really likes doing long one take fights). So the fights will at the very least be okay.
@@Coolgame6812 Hopefully. Nevertheless, Gillard produced the best lightsaber duels and choreography weâve ever had, and a lot of fan-made duels are based from his choreography
Donât forget rex said the âIâm no jediâ first
it's kind of like poetry; it rhymes
This is the only character i like so far in this show.
I was hoping to see him wield a green lightsaber. I miss seeing green used by the main character.
Honestly I thought the same, thought green suited him more so was surprised he had blue
Sabine was a main character very recently
@@cael4065 I thought Ahsoka was the main. She's like a side character.
@@starkiller1440 Ahsoka is the main but Sabine gets almost as much focus considering the theme of the show is teacher and student
@@cael4065 I see what you mean. But I guess I'm having TPM nostalgia where the teacher is wielding green.
Sol might have potential to be a fan favorite.
Darth Vader: Revenge is not the Jedi way.
Ahsoka Tano: I am no Jedi.
This is still one of my favorite exchanges in Star Wars.
I thought about the 2003 microseries where Dooku tells Ventress "A bold claim, but you are not Sith. You wear the trappings of the Sith. You fight like the Sith. But this can be imitated however."
He's the one character who's giving me hope right now. I've disliked the High Republic media I've read so far, so hopefully this changes things
I'm boycotting it since the shows creator supposedly helped grape women
@@JohnSmith-og1xq Wait, WHAT?
@Hylian_Herald Leslie hedland was Harvey weinstens PERSONAL assistant helping him with everything aka coordinating the meetings that resulted in grape
â@@JohnSmith-og1xqand how does that affect the show?
@darthgamer9468 tf?
Don't support stuff that will give money to people who graped others
Lack of conscience much?
Disney made lightsaber fighting not as good, it use to be swinging blades fast and blocking fast.
Nick Gillard is the gold standard. I hope the lightsaber combat part of this show can live up to his legacy.
This show is going to be fantastic.
Who isn't skeptical about anything Disney SW?
"It's not gonna be as good as the stunt choreography in the prequels"
IT NEVER IS WITH DISNEY..
I'm already concerned from an effects standpoint just based on the freeze frame image at 35 seconds. Kenobi had issues where you could clearly tell they were using toys and this is something that's plagued a LOT of the newer Star Wars shows but that saber is very obviously just a piece of glow up plastic extending out from the handle. Very, very cheap look and it has none of the "otherworldly/ethereal laser" effect/appearance that lightsabers have become known for over the years - it looks like something you could very obviously reach out and physically touch with absolutely no harm or consequence.
Was already iffy about watching this, don't know if I will when it drops.... but I'm very, very much hoping for the show's sake that they're either using different effects for the sabers alone or doing a lot of clean up in post-production.
0:12 You forgot about Baylan Skoll
"HIs LIghtSAber." - "Ah yes... A Jedi's weapon. Much like your father's."c
The force is with you young Skywalker. But you are not a Jedi yet
Itâs not fair!!
I want to see the leather adventure armor they have.
This actor could play Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat.
âNot gonna be as good as the choreography in the prequelsâ and shows the scene where anakin and obi wan just spin their blades at each other for 5 minutes
They need Nick Gillard
I just donât understand the skepticism around the Acolyte? Why are you guys concerned?
Just read their comments, bruh,
It's going to be laaaaaaaaaame
My only problems with the Acolyte are Lesleyâs statements and the line âNo one is safe from the Truthâ. Other than that Iâm not judging till I see and neither should any of us
Go in open minded otherwise youâll just be disappointed
Although I hate the sequels as much as the next guy, there's one thing that grinds my gears when people mention it:
The slowness of the Lightsaber duels.
Look, I get that the choreography could've been way better, but you know why the actors look like they're swinging baseball bats? Because the new sabers they use for filming are many times heavier than what they used for the prequels.
The new sabers are made of an Aluminium Alloy and the blade itself is hardened plastic with LEDs in them. While the prequel sabers were just plastic sticks on a hilt, lighter than a wooden sword.
I own a Neopixel Proffie saber and that thing is way heavier than I imagined. It's not unbearable, I'm not that weak, but you can't perform something like the prequel duels with it. At least not consistently.
Movies require multiple takes and even if you can manage to swing it that fast, you'll get tired very quickly, no matter what.
Look up videos of people swinging Neo sabers from side to side, you have to give a significant amount of force to change the direction of the swing or to stop it. Which is also dangerous. If you don't stop it, you'll get hit and trust me, you don't want to get hit by that thing, I have a bruise to show for it right across my back.
and yet disney still manages to fuck it up by spoiling the damn thing
so not only are they dogshit at making star wars, they're also dogshit marketers
I have a feeling the Acolyte is going to blow up and actually be very good, with Lee Jeong-Jae and the Sith carrying the show with their fights. If you saw the recent trailer, they are using some really good fighting choreography, if you research a lot of the lightsaber forms, apparently Lee Jeong-Jae's character uses Shii-Cho, which is the same form that Kit-Fisto uses, and he is doing a very good job at using it in live action. I love this so much for the High Republic.
Is the character thatâs a rock gonna be in this show? Wasnât it like a co-pilot in the high republic books? Yeah expect more of that.
