'Perfect Day' is a song written by Lou Reed in 1972. It was originally featured on Transformer, Reed's second post-Velvet Underground solo album, and as B-side of his major hit 'Walk on the Wild Side.'
Dankjewel Miep, we hebben inderdaad altijd plezier als we samen muziek maken. En trouwens ook als we geen muziek maken, maar muziekmaken is wel onze gezamenlijke passie. Ik hoop dat het goed met je (jullie) gaat. Groeten, Martin 👍😀🎶
I relate very much to this haunting, well-crafted ode to the narcotic heroin. When I was in prison, because of drug, and drug related offenses, I would talk , usually very quietly, to my drug of choice. Which just so happens to be the exact one that Lou Reed was referring to in the lyrics to this most telling tune, relative to the psychological power over the addicted person, wielded indiscriminately by the drug. Seconds of an endorphin release, and ever diminishing incremental euphoria, in effect traded for a lifetime, in many cases. But every now and then an addict might have a day in which the possibility of life consisting of himself, and his narcotic millstone as the descend into the abyss, having completely surrendered to its embrace. As pressure, and time reveal it no embrace, but rather an stranglehold.
I’m not sure if I understand all of your whole long and sad story, but I wish you well and I hope you liked our rendition of this beautiful and meaningful song. 👍😀🎶
Are you sure that this song is about drugs? I remember a famous one that is, in a hidden way, but isn' t a song by Simon and Garfunkel? You are clever. And I deeply hope, that you will recover from drug addiction. There is such a beautiful life out there. For you. Take care♥️
