  • How do women think? How do men think (or rather don’t)? Why are women good at multitasking and men so focused they can’t hear you speak to them? Find all the answers and more at www.developinghumanbrain.org/....
Many differences make the male and female brain different that developed throughout human history. It’s not bad, it’s a tale of two brains.
There are many differences between the female and male brain, including how neurons interact, the ability to multitask, the ability to think about nothing, and how to communicate. Both genders have strengths and weaknesses, and when working together can create miracles.
The brain difference between men and women that shows up the most is communication. Yes, women tend to use more words and men tend to have a harder time expressing their emotions. Watch the video to learn exactly why.

You’re not going to change the way people behave, but if you understand the differences in men vs women’s brains, you’ll adapt your skills and create a relationship that mutually supports the other’s need to talk (or not), think (or not), and behave to the benefit of both of you.
Men and women do think differently and get to the same conclusion along different paths.

    • @FudiBaeggli
      @FudiBaeggli Před měsícem

Why is there no significance to me?
It's unsure whether the brain in females and males are different because of societal structures or not. (I just went on a study/paper reading heist) There is evidence that grey and white brain matter, or if you use both sides of our brain, can change based on how we use/train our brain, which is partly based on our environment / how we need to use our brain to "survive".
So why couldn't it be that societal structures and gender roles has it's effects on that too.
There is no study I could find about that yet, it's often stated as "we don't know why these differences exist", so I'm like well then find it out already! 😂

Even if they are looking at which parts of the brain are more active. Couldn’t someone have subconsciously trained their brain to process things without emotion and vice versa. Your brain learns things overtime and needs practice to strengthen neuron pathways. Could females have strengthened their neural pathways that are between both sides of the brains because people encourage them to express emotion than males? I think males are not inherently less empathetic.

I "like" how there are inaccuracies here and there, scientifically speaking, + how men are portraited as inferiors yet once that idea settles in for the viewer the creators of the video thought that point out that different doesnt mean different and not better will make a difference.
People don't usually astraigh from what they learned for the first time.
Let me tell you thought, why there are a bunch of nonsense in the video.
Hippocampus has nothing to do with EXPRESSING emotions better, it has a relationship with amygdala but for the most part that's just about it, which again, has really nothing to do with h EXPRESSING emotions better, wtf does better even mean, it's a broad and vague statement.
If i take that quote by its words, it can mean that, for example a woman expresses insecurity better?
But you wouldn't say that because it sounds negative and a bit weird, right?
As for the intuition and logic i am laughing my a** off.
Intuition is a subconscious system of decision making based on experience, which for women, its calculations manifests, most of the time in form of feelings.
Intuition by nature can be for most part subjective af.
And to drive this home, when you show men failing even though you say they solve problems, and then you show women in superhero-like costume, literally godifying them what do you think people will think?
This is seems all planned to me and it's just disgusting that women have to use overcompensation mechanisms in order to feel confident since most of the time, they don't because of one main biological difference, testosterone production.
People, seriously don't take videos on YT as absolute science facts, yes, brains with different % of combination of both sexes exist indeed and most are (likely one of the very few accurate things mentioned in the video) but this whole thing just "smells" putting women on a pedestal for no reason other to give them again, attention and validation which they shouldn't need in the first place if they could access these things on their own.
I am not saying women don't deserve to be treated equally or anything, but personally i would never put inaccurate things on YT on purpose and surely i wouldn't go out and imply that x sex is inferior/superior and the one is literally better and then try to cover it that bad like this video does in the end + by having such a neutral title when the context of the video is clearly questionable.

The video doesn’t say one is better. Whichever you think the video showcases as better has the sex which’s brain is more inclined to have values you align with. Being “empathetic” vs. being “logical”. I am female and I do believe I have a hard time expressing emotions to others. It depends on your personality. The differences aren’t really that prominent and I don’t understand how science came to these conclusions. They would not be able to run an experiment with controlled variables because of societal expectations that contribute to these differences. Maybe they focus on different parts of the brain’s functions and whether these parts of the brains are more active in females and males. It talked about left and right sides of the brain. A lot of people have called me left-brained and a sociopath (as an insult and a joke). I wonder if my brain individually processes information more with one side or closer to equally. Of course males don’t just use the left side of their brain, if a person did something would be wrong with them. I guess it’s true females use more words explaining something. Look at this paragraph I wrote. It didn’t taken very long, and being a fast talker makes up for it. (Not that it is a negative thing anyway.)

I never quite understood this discussion. We are the fruit of our biology whether we like it or not, and also of our skills as a species. I say this because men and women have proven to have neurophysiologically different brains, in that they do not differ from other species, and these differences refer to different abilities as well as in other living species. Living beings of different sexes, although of the same species, play different roles in the struggle for survival and perpetuation. In the fight for survival, strength and physical resistance are determining factors, and the human species does not escape this rule. It is natural, then, that this ability has to say "dictating the rules" and the more present, the difference between the members will be more accentuated. Nevertheless, men and women fighting for the same goal have divided tasks adapted to their biological structures over time. The human species rationalizes their instincts and needs, and from there turns skills into advantages, that is, I am "better" and not just "different with other developed skills". The human being needs to judge and place the other in the "frame of importance of the species" to the point of making men more important than women, among many other judgments dictated by force. Man has never really understood the difference although he says he protects diversity. Sorry but this is the discussion.

1:50 'women are more inclined to combine logic and intuition'. Does that mean that persons with a more 'female brain' are statistically more inclined to state things to be true based on their feelings and not on objective facts? • @lenethel9854

If this is a "last floor" satirical question than male brains aren't part of intuitive flow as emotion isn't something to be held onto or escaped from.
If this isn't a satire (woa the disappointment), how does empathy affect logical decision making? It is values in yourself that men (as an interpretation from this video alone) strive for, yet women could "intuitively" derive. I challenge you to perceive yourself as a woman and ask that question; how is not having empathy such an advantage within a logically, proven, step by step decision except as an achievement of the exact opposite: instead what if those steps turn out to be just a brief moment of the opposite of empathy?

  • @smartiesubunk2thnubuts397

I'm a forty two year old man. I've never really fitted the male stereotype, not being driven to learn how to drive and get my first car at the earliest opportunity or liking any sport. In fact, I don't fit a lot of the markers that identify a male persona and yet I am a very dominant male naturally by nature, not having to force dominance on anyone and I lead from the front, arguably fitting the ginger and Aries stereotype to a tee. However, I get on with women better than men for friend (platonic for the record, none motivational) I'm very empathic and insightful/intuitive and can read people and situations well and deeply within a very short space of time. Even as a child I was very loving and sensitive and I have suffered from quite bad anxiety and depression for a lot of my life and yet remained masculine as previously described. It is strange as I used to see the female traits in my nature as a weakness to be weeded out but after a like journey of mistakes perusing a perceived masculine persona, I now see my feminine traits for what they are... A strength, I realize that most males would disagree with me having never met me but I can assure you, it is true. For any young man with feminine traits worrying about the questions you will worry about as you grow up... My advice is this, Just be your self and accept your personality as only you can decide if these traits are a strength or a weakness FOR YOU. if you accept what are 'called' feminine traits as part of you and make them part of your masculinity. You will find that the girls like you even more... At the end of the day... confidence in anything is KEY... #OWN IT.

This video is actually wrong about this. On average, men are actually the empathetic creatures, women the sympathetic. They can sympathize very very well with people, but have a harder time relating to other people without having experienced something similar. Men are usually empathetic, making us more capable of relating to peoples story and issues and understanding them, but lack the sympathetic inclination to care. These differences can either be enhanced or dulled depending on our hormonal profile, considering our hormones play a large role in our mentality and personality.

We all know brains adapt, for example creating new neural paths, etc. Can grey/white brain matter or if you use one side of the brain more or the other also be part of societal structures? And how much of this is based on gender roles / history?
like as a girl/boy you grow up differently, no matter how hard you try not to as a parent, there are always structures in place to let your kid know they're a girl/boy (you must wear A, you should like B, you must be C, or separate into girl / boy groups etc.). Anything leaves a mark on us, we have different perception of ourselves, copying mechanisms and very likely their brain will change too, I would assume.

@@duskonanyavarld1786 Of course, I am aware of that. But what I was wondering about is that for the proposition that male and female brains have different strengths and weaknesses, could either one of them theoretically train themselves to both share the same strengths?
Forgive me if I am asking a dumb question. It's just that for a while, I saw people bring up about how different men and women are when it comes to psychology. Of course, I am not saying or expecting for everyone to do the same thing and I am more of a live and let live sort of person. But it breaks my heart when people suggest that a woman has little chance in competing with a man psychologically with certain things and vice versa (yes, I know the physical differences like strength and testosterone. I'm focusing in psychology).
To use a role-playing game analogy, character class A has a head start in one area over class B while class B has a head start in another area over A. However, both share the same level cap in both areas and they could theoretically become equal if they put in the training. would the psychology of brains be like that?
