Canada's first-ever CAR T-cell therapy trial for solid tumours at Tom Baker Cancer Centre

Stephanie Alain, is in a one-person CAR T-cell therapy (immunotherapy) clinical trial to treat a solid tumour - a first in Canada. Until now, the new cutting-edge treatment has been used solely on cancers of the blood, and has shown very positive outcomes, sometimes putting terminal cancer patients into remission. CAR T-cell therapy is typically used when other treatment options fail or stop working.
