- In this video I have played both of Dark Souls 3 biggest mods, Cinders and The Convergence. However I have only played for an hour of both, this video still offers a lot of information to help you know which mod is better.
Leave a comment down below and tell me what mod you think is better, or if there is another mod out there you would like me to compare, let me know.
The sounds I use in this video
The Infinite Deamer- www.epidemicso...
Urban Stories- www.epidemicso...
Whoosh Transition 1- www.epidemicso...
Let me know down in the comments what mod or challenge I should do next
Convergence Mod is insanely fun. I've played it 3 times over with different builds. But what I realized is that the Covenant spells are OP broken so I self imposed a rule to ban their usage. I also did a level cap of 100.
If I could have the world of convergence and the mechanics of cinders. I'd be at peace
I'm playing convergence right now and I'm loving it. Before I started I was wondering which of the two mods to try and chose this one cuz I wanted a completely new experience. I think I chose the right one at least for me. 🙂
Yeah I'm working on convergence but its really hard, or maybe I'm just really bad
@@Weebels it becomes easier as u play. Even easier if u use magic.
@@user-vx6iu2ti1y oh thanks it does get easier
Came back to DS3 after years of not playing it. Started off with Convergence and got bored with it after 2 hours of playing it. Honestly, I prefer a Dark Souls 3 feel, and Convergence completely changed that. Convergence completely overhaul the game and it doesn't even feel like Dark Souls 3 anymore. I supposed that's a good thing for those who's sick of replaying Dark Souls 3, and wanted something new. I just want to play Dark Souls 3 with editions, and it seems Cinders does just that.
champions ashes sounds like a good choice for you as well! give it a go.
The Convergence best spell variaty however there's too many of them, some spells feel like copies of others. Some spells are too flashy, laggy, or feel overpowered, or some of the weaker ones outshine the stronger ones by spamming and stacking, the weapon/armor variety is lacking.
Cinders has the best variety in weapons and armor, while sure not as many spells as the other, they feel almost perfect to fit into vanilla, especially when some the newer spells are from the bosses you defeat, however you can also end up op, but that's ok since there are Curses you can apply to balance it out.
In short, you wanna be anime? Go The Convergence.
You want to cosplay and/or want to make the game harder with custom options? Go Cinders.
Really well done video! I wasn't sure which mod to try so you helped a ton with that :) (Cinders has Sir Alonne's sword in it though which is badass so I almost went with it strictly for that reason lol)
Oh wow, Sir Alonne is one of my favorite bosses in the series so I'm gonna play that mod again lol
@@Weebels Yeah and the best part is, the sword is attainable at the very beginning of the game!
@@rmuns1262 Thanks for the information, I know what I'm doing next times I play Cinders
Hey great video! I was looking to comeback for these mods and you did such a good job on them, thanks!
Thanks, I'm really glad I could help you!
I think Cinders has way better quality of life, customizable balance, and options if you don't want to be a spellcaster.
Having 100% all of the darksouls games and the original demons souls I prefer cinders as it makes it feel like a celebration of the whole series
i feel like them not changing story bosses makes sense since the story bosses are already pretty much handcrafted to perfection by fromsoftware, that being said however, i did enjoy the boss changed convergence added.
I appreciate the comparison here, I have already played Cinders and wasn't sure if Convergence would be worth a try or just more of the same. Thanks
I'm glad I could help you
Ima go with cinders for now
In the cinders mod, when you block an attack sometimes the shield shines and makes a tingling noise, do you know what it is or why it does that?
probably guard point
Recommend starting like this: normal ds3 then cinders ds3 and then convergeance for the pure fact that convergeance makes you busted op and i dont rlly enjoy games that way atleast for me this is how im doing it
There was hard mode for cinders tho. If you use it game becomes insanely hard to play and different, there wasa made up covenant item, you should have used that :)
I tried convergeance a long time ago and had fun with a faith only class but im thinking of coming back and thought about doing some kinda tank build so would druid carapace spell be better than other faith buffers in this game for defense?
I really liked the video. Good job and tks a lot. Helped 😁
Cool video! Keep the good work!
the thing i love about dark souls 3 is the its difficult but fair but what i found with convergence mod is that its less skill based as you do very little damage
Nah i think your build is trash, i played pure strength and I was killing everything too easily and all I did was just wear the rings with physical damage multiplier with the giant covenants armour
your build or is prob the worst in the game cuz i just maxed dex and strenght and almost two hit any boss
cinders fcks up my whole fun in the game and all the npc quests are broken you cant get the cat ring cuz of that
I really loved convergence mod. Also I have a video defeating the super yorn with a cool build i did XD
the convergence devs are currently working on an elden ring version too, even as a alpha right now, it's still extremely good.
the second one is very nice xD cool comparison
Thanks I plan to do more stuff like this in the future
If I’ve never finished ds3 should I play with a mod or finish it vanilla first? I don’t generally have the capacity to run it back twice because I’ve got such a big backlog 🤣
if ur still wondering, def vanilla. more balanced and the game just makes more sense and less overwhelming. vanilla dark souls is a must for first playthrough
Mod it. DS3 gets it's nuts sucked way too hard by the community for whatever reason. It's a 2 year development mod for Bloodborne and mechanics demo for Elden Ring.
Magic doesn't work until way late game (faith starts working on NG+2). Weapon design doesn't match the enemy design. Levels are pretty dull.
The only truly great thing about DS3 is the boss encounters.
@@KosmataBradva the game has flaws ofc but its always best to try the intended experience first, u can always play the modded version if you arent having fun with vanilla. the vanilla game is also way more balanced and it has a better flushed out multiplayer experience, better connecting lore and is way more new player friendly since this mod can really overwhelm you
Hi! Someone knows if the yapped tool works with convergence mod? It seems work with Cinders but not with The Convergence... 😢
I beat both, and I can 100% say that Convergence is the superior of the two. Though that's mostly because the f*cking Curse Swamp in the Ringed City. I am still salty about that even though I haven't died to it. I have spent too much time just waiting for my curse meter to go down before I can progress because I didn't expect a freaking curse swamp.
Guess you forgot about the Miracle spell that can remove it?
@@WyvernLP Melee build. I like to choose melee builds for mods like this where they focus heavily on magic to see what they did with melee builds or if they just ignored it.
@@silentkhaos1176did they just ignore it? convergence looks cool to me but i don’t really fancy doing a magic build. wondering if a melee is worth it
@@jimmyyfranciss They expanded an the melee quit a bit. There's a ton of very fun melee weapons. When I played Cinders, melee builds just felt left out compared to magic.
@@jimmyyfranciss Now while Melee builds are great in convergence, I do recommend going into a kind of spellblade build for the most fun. There's some insanely fun miracles/spells that pair really well with a melee style
I have the exact same opinions, cinders mod was SUPER applauded and everyone told me to play it, but it just felt like it was the exact same game with different scaling, i felt like the entire game went from a little too hard and boring since its all the same stuff, then all of a sudden you're OP and nothing can kill you, there was only one weapon i found enjoyable using in cinders AND in contrast, i felt like every single weapon i picked up in convergence was a new fun experience to try out, id always level them up and mess around with them, exploring new areas and fighting new bosses and enemies, it felt like a REAL and polished mod
I honestly love both mods equally.
Convergence mod is solely focused on magic and is so terribly unbalanced but whatevs is not like people are installing mods for the pvp experience.
Faltou brasileiros também falarem sobre, demorei até chegar aqui. Ótimo vídeo, concordo com o veredito.
fico feliz em poder ajudar
Cinders has been weapon moveset variety but convergence clears everything else
You can try ashen blood and give some feedback
Thanks I'll make a video on that soon
I'm confused because the Cinders mod says "Enemies and Bosses have been changed, in strength, abilities and PLACEMENTS." Was the placement part not True?!? 🤔
It is possible they changed if you get deeper into it possibly. Like I said at the beginning of the video I only played them for a couple hours before life got in the way. Sorry I couldn't help more.
@@Weebels no problems thanks for the reply. I'm debating which one of these I'd like to play through so that's why I was trying to figure out if one has different boss places and the other one doesn't. the convergence did seem the most interesting to me though.
@@brooklynvlogs9396 Im playing though convergence right now and its really good, changes a lot so the game feels fresh
@@zzz-tu8ft I'm playing it right now too. So far I'm pretty impressed, some parts of the game feel completely different.
@@brooklynvlogs9396 What class are you playing? I'm playing the blade of gwynn
Also Champion’s Ash
I'll look at it thanks!
please stop saying "as you'll see"
I've played both, and while each mod has their own merits, I have to give it to the Convergence overall.
The best comparison I can make is that Cinders focuses on adding as much new stuff and features as possible, while Convergence is much more focused and specialized.
Cinders has a lot of half-baked and reskinned overworld bosses that feel unnecessary and out of place. While the Convergence also has a few reskins as well, they feel much more unique or at least make much better use of reused and combined assets that make more sense in where they're located, and aren't simply placed into random parts of the overworld as a means of artificial difficulty. The Convergence also does a much better job of polishing and updating existing bosses such as Pontiff Sulyvahn, Yhorm, and Soul of Cinder. These changes allow for a fresh, yet still familiar experience.
Can i put cinder's and convengence mods together to play?
What I hate about cinders is that the weapons and armor are taken from the previous souls games that look outdated.
they should do a merger in my opinion
neither, i just like QoL or patches in my mods
So then Cinders.

It's not even done. You're just meatriding.
Convergence best
I mean cinders is also for a prior version of the game. Can't even play it now.
Yes you can. Different types of DS3 executable files are under 100mb and freely available to download. Cinder's nexus page has the link. I just did it as well for Archthrones.
@@G82Jesse doesn't archthrones run on the current build?
Corvergence better is better 111!!!!111!!! Cuz they have divine blade im getting op and they have best sussy skill 1!!!1!1!

Cinders felt like a bunch of half baked extra stuff added on top of already boring DS3 formula. I mean, map wise, DS3 is the worst in terms of design (fite me) and has so many useless generic weapons in it already.
Convergence makes it feel like a new experience.
Archthrones makes it a new experience.
Look up the movesets to Frostfall, King's Quarterstaff, Nil Bow and Blade, Ivory King Ultra Greatsword, some of the Bloodborne weapons, and some of the changed weapons like Smough's Great Hammer.
