First, the Philippine government calls it an EEZ, not a territory. Second, what other options does the Philippines have? If supplies can no longer be delivered, the soldiers on the Sierra Madre will die of thirst, starvation or disease. How to deliver supplies? Sacrifice more thumbs?

Gibo is not your Ordinary neighbor. He is one of the most intelligent man in his generation. He graduated Commerce as no.1 in his class in DLSU and topped the BAR becoming lawyer after graduating UP College of Law, and even finished a Masters in Law in Harvard University. He is also a licensed pilot and a Colonel in the Airforce Reserve. He knows what he is doing, not to mention this is his second term as Defence Chief since Arroyo’s time.

The Philippines knew about Cairo and Potsdam declaration after WWII. Philippines at birth clearly do not deemed the areas in contention as hers. It constitution was amended many times to claim territories. These happened well before UNCLOS was even born. And when China signed to UNCLOS, it is with a caveat pertaining to those areas..PHilippines has not respect to rule of law. Their navy even killed a Taiwanese fishermen in their common EEZ.Philipiines position didn’t even consider Taiwanese EEZ, only hers. .It ended up with the Philippines paying compensation to Taiwanese fisherman. It didn’t want to enter into any agreement on their common EEZ.Its attitude is : It is all mine , you are not a country recognized by the UN.As a result, Taiwan deployed her navy to retaliate if Philippines started shooting Taiwanese fishermen, again. Terrible country, me-only country. most corrupted, used by the Americans to destabilize China. Trying to evoke mutual defense pact with the Americans that was first signed not include the areas in contention. China will play the Philippine and beat her at her own game

@@Robi-qv7ln when it comes to nations and territories, there is no court that dictate its decision on them unilaterally. Nations must agree to go to courts together for an outcome. The 2016 arbitration is done unilaterally with China abstaining. Philippines had to pay China’s fees because China was absent. Look at its legality today. The ruling has no effect after 8 years because there is no legality .Philippines can go harping on its win in 2016 and China will ignore it. What a waste when you know this is going to happen and Philippines paid millions for the more than happy lawyers who laughed all the way to the bank.Idiotic, if you ask me. And those lawyers? unethical! making millions out of a poor country knowing the outcome
