About The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies:
Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson returns to Middle-earth with the final of three films based on J.R.R. Tolkien's enduring masterpiece. Set in Middle-earth 60 years before the epic Lord of the Rings trilogy, the adventure follows the journey of Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom from the fearsome dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of dwarves on a journey into wild, treacherous lands swarming with beasts of every ilk. After reaching Erebor and encountering the dragon Smaug, Five Armies assemble for an epic battle that could decide the future of all in Middle-earth.

Sam taught me how to be brave
Merry and Pippin taught me friendship is more valuable than gold
Boromir taught me that actions speak louder than words
Legolas taught me how to be perceptive
Gimli taught me to carry on fighting no matter what
Aragorn taught me how to be courageous and to never despair
Dain taught me that goats are cool. 🐐🔨
Aragon's courageousness is stepping on Sam's bravery. It would been better to say that Aragorn is about taking responsibility. Also, Gimli's lesson could be more apt to his behaviour, such as letting go of your prejudices. So yeah, these need tweaking but otherwise really nice idea.

For those who say they loved the movies...
PLEASE READ THE BOOKS! They hold so MUCH MORE fantasy and imagination than the movies could ever show you. I grew up with the books...and you grew up with the movies. Please don't let Peter Jackson's interpretation be your ONLY source of Tolkien. I love them both for different reasons....but the books are the source of this magical world you love so much. READ!
Treu!
Vouch
Spam in a can I love both deeply. The books are wonderful, (if a bit overlong in parts, impeding the story. Tom Bombadil.) and the depth present in Middle Earth is astounding. The films tell a more fluid and character-driven story, so while the world isn't as deep, it's beautifully characterized and emotive. Tolkien's work is amazing to this day and I think Jackson's adaptation will be engraved in film history as the most fully realized fantasy world in cinema. Just as it is in literature.
Spam in a can well the movies are good esp on their own. they can only do so much in them thus the cuts and additions for time and flow etc. even the hobbit they took from his many notes and put it in the movie so they added to it. I do agree the books are million times more amazing.
Spam in a can Reading the books made me understand Tolkien as an author. You can feel his passion for languages and how they affect civilizations in the silmarillon. While in the LotR books, I was impressed by his skills as a writer. I mean, it borders on poetry. For exemple, here is the first description of galadriel and Celeborn:
" They were clad wholly in white; and the hair of the Lady was of deep gold… but no sign of age was upon them, unless it were in the depths of their eyes; for these were keen as lances in the starlight, and yet profound, the wells of deep memory."
2:27 RIP Bernard Hill.

May we all one day have a very fond farewell.
Ay, laddie. With a friend.
Roald Dahl had it right when he said goodbye. "You know, I'm not frightened. It's just that I will miss you all so much."
I cried for "Into the West" and I cried for this.
If Tolkien were alive to see just how much effort was put into bringing his stories to life, and knowing how beloved they'd become, I think he could pass on even happier.
Jay Yep, two of the best end-series songs ever. We will miss Middle-Earth.
Jay You are absolutely right.
I don't think he would like the hobbit movies, though his son didn't like them, I think Tolkien would have liked would have liked the LOTR trilogy.
Jay he would probably think that howard shore wrote music he would agree with and might think that he couldve written the scores for the movies
Noah Brown I agree to some extent. To me, Tolkien would have loved the Lord of the Rings movies, for The Hobbit, while he would probably appreciate the effort put forth, would be a little disappointed. Though it will forever remain unclear to me if Tolkien would've enjoyed the Bakshi version of the Lord of the Rings.

And thus our Journey ended. As the lights returned to the theater, and as Billy began to sing, I realized that my Journey in Middle Earth was over. A Journey that had begun long ago, in 2001. And a Journey that ended on 2014. A Journey of swords and armor, of Light against Dark, of Hope against Evil.
We saw so much of Middle Earth in just six short movies, and in those short movies we saw characters breathed to life that we might never have seen. The Grace of the Elves, and that same Grace failing against the Might of the Shadow. Of Men's struggle against their own, of a dying line that redeemed itself, and Gondor restored to glory. The Elves leaving this world forever, and returning home.
It was not my vision of Middle Earth, but Jackson's. But it was a journey through the lands and people I loved, and for that I cannot thank him, and the cast enough.
So our Journey ends, as all journey's must eventually. Time passes on, and our lives will continue. We will always have our Fellowship, those that watched and love the lands of Middle Earth, but nothing will allow us to visit those times of our first Journey, except to lead someone else to these books, to these movies, and walk the Journey we know oh so well, and relive the bitter sweet memories of what comes, and live the Journey again through them.
Thank you Peter Jackson, and the Cast of The Lord of the Rings. I doubt any of you will see this, but collectively, you all have made me laugh, and cry, to cheer and weep, more then any series, movie, or song I have listened to before or since. Thank you. I did not want an ending, but if it had to be....I am glad it was this one. It was more adventure then I deserve....but I am glad I could take part in it.
Wonderful
This is the most touching comment I've ever read!
Give this man a trophy
I'm nearly speechless.
You just made my day
I think is is a beautiful tender calming song. I just drift with the song. I miss my Mama and my sister. My mom was only 58 and my sis 70. I'm going to be 70 this year. She died in 1987 and my sis 2 years ago.
Overhill and under tree. Through lands that light has never seen....with your blessings i will turn at last to paths that lead home.
Cannot listen to this song and not cry
You fool of a Took! Making me cry...
Let's be realistic.
When we all watched The fellowship of the Ring for the first time, we never realized that we were all going to become apart of this fellowship together.
This fantasy Epic has taken our lives.
Overhill isn't just a word, it's our never ending love for Tolkien's universe,
"Is this the End? No... the journey doesn't end here."
This comment wins everything, ever.
This comment made me tear up...respect sir
In the '70s LOTR had a resurgence and I remember buttons people wearing saying "Bilbo lives"; I didn't understand yet.
I read fellowship and said, that took me 2 years to finish how can I possibly read two towers, I love the hobbit though
This sums it up my brother 💫
I go to my father's, in whose mighty company, I shall not now feel ashamed
R.I.P King Bernard Hill
Ian Holm and Christopher Lee were hard, but Bernard hits so much worse for me personally.
He was so perfect in Theoden's role. Without fail, for over 20 years now, I get chills as he prepares to charge the Pelennor Fields.
Rest in Peace, Sir. And thank you for the memories.💔
hail the victorious dead
there is this empty feeling inside that will never get filled again..... god i miss this so much
GandalfDaGray I feel you
ikr. you might think me as a big baby, but i cry every time i listen to this song.
Freek Vonk Perhaps someday something as great as LOTR will rise
Freek Vonk you should read Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson. Excellent High Fantasy, maybe the best since Tolkien👍🏻
JonKrohn Did you see that there is a movie in the works for The Way of Kings? The budget for it is about $300 million.
People say this song is a merry conclusion to the Hobbit. They"re wrong : it's a pippin conclusion to the Hobbit.
I see what you did there😂
@Gage Garner OH MY GODS
snifffffffffffffffffffffff hack cough sputter is that a pun i smell?
@Gage Garner IIRC the Party Tree was cut down by Sharky's thugs-- so one of Sam's Mallorns gets to bear some strange fruit.
Yes, passers by, I know you are confused if you haven't read the books.
@Gage Garner wth. Didnt He and merry live until 120-ish years old and die. Then when aragorn die both were entombed next to him
These Movies Are The GREATEST! Makes me want to watch them all over again, RIP Ian Holm and Christopher Lee you are both missed
And every person who worked on both franchises.
@@dannythomas417they're not dead tho 😭
Now Sir Bernard Hill, King Theoden himself - F
RIP Bernard Hill - Hail the glorious dead!
This didn’t feel like an end to the Hobbit, it felt like an end to an unforgettable journey that began in 2001.
To delay the end read the books
tsqqaswfffokmnvxa
yes
utfewadfsyuyttdz
@@fearghaillogadhra9617 I reread them and still my heart ache.. to prolong the delay, read all books edited by the late Christopher Tolkien.
I think Billy Boyd touches far more peoples hearts with this than he thinks.
😢
I agree. I’ve heard this before a thousand times. But today for some reason this song brings tears to my eyes.
No one could have said that better....
soo true..
Same with Peter Jackson and J.R.R Tolkien. If they only knew..
TIL that he was also Pippin, I agree entirely
It's insane that despite not being close to anyone, I can feel the bittersweet feeling of having made friends and living a life with them and having to say goodbye.
Absolutely the best ending Song, for an amazing Series, *EVAH!*
It hurts listening to this since everyone knows that we'll never get to experience movies like this again
I cried when I finished all the movies 😭
@123perrin I am going to start doing it too I miss it already :o
I heard they want to produce a lord of the ring series on amazon prime or so
@@americanteehee5699 that sounds amazing
Demon Slayer there is so much potential in the lotr universe. i think there will be more
I fkn love lotr and hobbit, and I think its sad becuase its over
that will never happen
Ivan Larsson me 2
MaximusOfCaceres I concur and I think 6 films of this amazing franchise is enough
MaximusOfCaceres I know it will never happen, because Tolkien's son has the rights and won't sell them or give them away, and it would be a pretty hard thing to do, but PROPERLY done could be sick, where the main characters are also at risk(bit like game of thrones).* But still they would need a pretty big budjet to do so. So you are right.
I feel same about Witcher Trilogy :(
I don't think there are words to describe the role these books, movies, and songs/music have had in my life. I started by reading The Hobbit at summer camp as a child and remember sobbing at the end. I then grew up watching first one set of movies and then the next. I've had so many friendships form and break and watched my life change and change and change again. The nostalgia and complex emotional connections I have that are linked to this series and the music that accompanied it is like nothing else in my life. There simply are no words. I am heartbroken and revitalized each and every time I re-encounter this fantasy world.
Rest in peace Bernard Hill, our King ❤
I can't believe this hasn't been nominated for best song at the Oscars. What a farce.
Reuben Chandler-Wall
This is HOBBIT who did you managed to get to LEGO MOVIE??????
***** Is it hard for you to deal with the fact that your parents are cousins?
?
What?It never been in Return Of The King -.- It was created in 2014. -.-
I was 10 when the LOTR came out in December 2001. Tolkien's work and Jackson's film adaptations have had a greater impact on my life than any other story, song, or piece of art ever has.
There is nothing wrong with crying when something that has impacted your life for 14 years comes to an apparent end. They are good tears, though, because I wouldn't be who I am today without these stories.
I had to cry so much when i saw this after the cinema. absulutly agree with you. Still crying now. In the end of the movie i had a smile on my face and tears in my eyes but now i cant say how sad i am. The hobbit triology just gave me something i can look forward to in my lonelyness ):
I will not say do not weep; for not all tears are an evil...
Vince Niknazmanesh huhuhu curse you!! You've made me cry.... T.T
I feel the same exact way about these movies.
i was 4 when watched the fellowship of the ring...it took me a long time to fully understand the story but when i watched it back during the age of four...i remember saying : wow ! this is awesome !
Nothing will ever be as great as this trilogy
I can name a few trilogies better than 'The Hobbit.'
-- Man With No Name (1964-1966)
-- Back to the Future (1985-1990)
-- Spider-Man (2002-2007)
-- Star Wars (1977-1983)
-- Indiana Jones (1981-1989)
-- The Godfather (1972-1990)
-- The Lord of the Rings (2001-2003)
Eight years... this song and these films are masterpieces.
"How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard."
Jacob Boehne winnie the pooh
Jacob Boehne I want you to know that your comment, coupled with this song, and a particularly strenuous period of my life, actually made me cry.
Jacob Boehne Even if it is from Winnie-the-Pooh
"I will not say do not weep. For not all tears are an evil." Seriously, if you need a moment, take it. These kind of songs, and the experiences that surrounds them, are there for us to share and grow closer through. These movies were a journey for the cast and crew, one that they shared with us as viewers. We're all a part of it. I don't know what you might be going through, but I want you to know, we're here for you, even if it is only in spirit.
My heart guys, my heart!
lord of the rings will never die it will always be alive in our hearts and in our memories
george koukourdelis there are more Lore and storys u know
george koukourdelis oh.....i cant descrube how i feel now...
george koukourdelis rong movie dude
Daniel Andrew Vegan Aesthetics i fucking love it, drama queen
george koukourdelis who even said that this was the end?
My dad showed me this song to and said to play it at his funeral 😔 so we did for him, I have such an emotional connection with this song! Love and miss you pops❤
Christopher Lee, Ian Holm, and now Bernard Hill. They have all gone to the gray havens! Rest in Peace each of them!
i cry every time. every freaking time. because for me, it wasn't just movies. the lotr trilogy was my childhood. it carries so many memories, so many emotions. and i will treasure it until my memory fades and my old mind forgets it all.
Same here the memories are just too strong to ignore.
Oh and dont worry, I'm pretty sure you will never forget :)
I'm so glad others feel this way too, they really are a life experience, not just movies. Love them forever!
musicaddictor same here it's kind of sad the memory's will fade it's so sad because it's a big part of our lives
musicaddictor it's the same for me ;)
Same here I will always remember the lotr and will hold on to those memories
Over the last six months or so, my life's become nothing but work, and I lost the magic I once saw in the world. I wanted nothing to do with stories or fairytales, I wanted to complete my work and be left alone. For the third time in the 17 years of my life everything became dark again, hollow thoughts of suicide entered my mind again... But last night my family were playing songs on youtube, and my mother chose this. I watched, seeing all the characters I had grown to love on the screen once again and I began to cry.
Not all who wander are lost, and now that I have found myself again, I intend to wander for the rest of my life. Thank you Tolkien, thank you Peter Jackson, thank you cast and crew of all Lord of the Rings movies, you've reminded me of who I am, and I can never repay you enough for the joy and magic you've given me.
Thank you.
+Flamer Brony Just wait until you grow older...
It's gonna get a whole lot worse.
But there's drugs and hookers for that :D
Obviously, i joke. Drugs and hookers make it even more depressing.
+Flamer Brony I would suggest that you look to the source and inspiration of Tolkien's work, which is the faith that was so important to him: the faith in God the father, God the son, and God the Holy Spirit.
+Flamer Brony I to, am a Wanderer. Have been my entire life for lots of reasons. We are not lost, but trying to find our space in crazy world. I too, work a lot, but when I come home, a lot of times I will watch LOTR, and just kinda get lost in it. I think you need that. Forget what happened today, and go someplace else, even if just for awhile. You have to find a balance. I first read LOTR 45 years ago, at least. In high school Lit, required reading. What Peter Jackson did was bring all this to life! Tolkien was not trying to change the world or anything like that. He just had a heck of a story to tell. Fantastic. Stay strong my friend. I think you will be just fine!
+Flamer Brony 17 years old..wait till you get older you will see just how shitty life can be. It will start once you hit your 20s and everybody around you starts dying off. You'll start working 8 to 5, come home, eat, sleep, and do the same thing every day. The years go by fast. Prepare yourself.
Beautiful. I agree... Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if only one remembers to bring a lotr book..:)
I hope you live a wonderful life since I know what you're/ you've gone through..:) And always remember, you're not alone:)...
I love how they blended scenes of the movies & behind the scenes of all 6 movies. ❤
Anyone else crying by the end? So moving, the song and video.
