@Andrew Norris But the question you have to ask, is are these tourists so backwards that theyve never been to a busy city before?? We get tourists from all over the world here in London. but the whole concept of the traffic light and pedestrian crossings seem almost alien to them... Though thats not taking the attention away from the city workers and other locals who are out and about with their headphones on, listening to music while staring down at their phones. I work in central london and commute to and for by bicycle and I have seen so much of it.
Then we have those special folks who step out into the road and look to the left when the traffic is coming from the right and they shit themselves when they almost get hit by a car...

I don't know if it's the same wherever you are but where I'm from the driver/biker/cyclist isn't aloud to go until everyone has crossed, even if your lights green and also must stop at striped crossings.

Jesus why? I haven't heard about that before :o Here in Poland we can use exhausts which are 96dB loud. How does it look like in Germany?
in indonesia there is complicated rules about exhaust, 90% police don't have DB tester
restricted to 89db for older models and now with euro4-norms its even less....only oldtimer/youngtimer-bikes are non-restricted....but i just drive without db-eaters since the fine is only 90€ and no points at the registration office if its called like that? :D
VPlayer here in germany we also use loud exhaust systems,but we need a db-killer
Once I went to DE without my DB killer :-( paid 120€ (and i think I was lucky) KTM Duke 125 arrow exhaust.

One of my favourites! One thing to note though, if driving/riding and turning from a main road onto a side road, if pedestrians have already started crossing, they have right of way.

It's true, but only for their safety. The government isn't trying to encourage people to jump in front of buses even if they're allowed to lol. Of course, if a vehicles isn't able to stop in time, for valid reasons, the driver cannot be held accountable (for example going 1m ahead of a car doing 30mph legally, can't expect to car to not hit you)

Very true (pedestrian crossings showing red man excepted of course), although nobody has "right of way"; it's "priority". And so many people forget that pedestrians are road users too, and so there is certainly no automatic universal "priority" for motorised vehicles.
