Now three weeks into the American Tour, once again the band are back at a venue which was played back on the Morning Glory Tour, in a rather infamous show. Back in 1995, when Oasis played the Orpheum Theatre, Liam’s voice went (for the first time on recording) which resulted in Noel finishing the gig. However for their 2000 performance, things go smoothly and the result is yet another fine performance for the year. Liam’s higher register is a bit strained, but it doesn’t impact his singing too much, and puts on a solid gig. Noel does well on his songs and the band are tight as nails on this one. Gas Panic in particular is always a great showing by everyone, but there’s some nice minute touches by both Noel and Alan which are nice all the same. Strangely enough, there isn’t much in the way of stage banter. On most shows of this tour so far the Gallagher brothers have seemed pretty at home on stage, but tonight there definitely seems to be a bit of animosity in the air. I would find it quite funny if this is related to Noel’s interview in the Boston Globe newspaper, in which Liam out of 6 of seven days of drinking was fine, but there was always one day where he’d be a maniac. Either way you can tell by the end of the show, when Noel gets cut off by Liam dedicating it to “someone who’s not very happy”.

This and Japan are close. Liam is more aggressive during Japan, but the band is slightly better over the U.S. leg its difficult to rank these tours.
