I struggled finding any MK1 music to put over this…
What makes Tekken 8 so special is that it allows experienced competitive players and those who are learning to coexist and compete in harmony because the game itself gives many tools to new players to educate themselves and motivate them to improve. Almost any fighting game gives you those opportunities, and that's why MK1's online is so unsatisfying. People makes the mistake of blaming casual players for MK1's downfall, but it's thanks to those players that the developers can eat and pay their bills, don't forget that.
Objectively talking, MK1 isn't a bad game at all, but it lacks of content and online is not funny, meanwhile Tekken 8 is very fun in online and offline modes. It's a COMPLETE game in all areas, and that's what fighting players really want to see.
This is the most well thought out comment and accurate comment yet. 💯
SF6 and T8 fans all having a great time while MK is being forgotten. When the Game Awards came around last year literally nobody argued that MK1 should of gotten best fighting game. not even MK1 fans
My issue with MK is the lack of everything, You have to spend money or grind to customize your character, and Customization is far too limited. Invasions is cool but it is literally the only single-player content minus arcade. Then there is online the match-making is horrible, the "skill-based match-making" is so bad, and you'll be but against people 10x better than you and have no room to learn MK basically forces you to only plan online. Tekken has so much you can do with no need to pay for customization the combat feels like if you work for it you can learn it and ranked feels so rewarding the way it's set up makes it so you actually feel like you're fighting someone at your skill level.
Yes. Yes. I agree with EVERY SINGLE POINT! Spot on 🙏🏽💯
Tekken ball
I agree with half that but you honestly sound like a scrub. seems like you enjoy tekken more because you can mash and get away with it
The fighting was terrible in mk1 there were no different fighting styles play deadly alliance and deception and Armageddon I know they are old games for ps2 but look at what they have and look what Mortal Mess 1 has
Mortal Kombat women look homeless
Tekken just has an indescribable charm and fun to it. MK1 is like mainstream over-processed lost all flavour type of stuff
I think that got to their head, and they veered away from the FGC and more mainstream casual gaming
I think design wise MK1 is worst than MK11(especially) & MKX but it still looks so much better than Tekken & SF.. Even the soundtrack on those games sounds like it's made for children..
Mk lost ita beautiful B movie flare. Mk 1 looks so generic compared to past entries.
@@casbalt7763unfortunately I agree, generic is the word I used when I saw the menus and towers and invasions and even some of the skins :(
Customization is a big thing TEKKEN 8 has free customization mk1 we gotta pay for $10 skins
$10 for a skin is ridiculous
Fun fact: T8 customization is still nothing special compared to T6 customization. If there was one thing that T6 did right it was the customization mode. We'll probably never get anything close to that but hey, it's better to have a free customization that is still pretty decent than 10$ legacy skins and no Krypt.
Tekken 6 customization was GOATED!
2nd best Customization was Tekken Tag 2 plus it has Decals
It's deeper than it looks. You can cosplay a lot of characters using your imagination, and modding community creates a lot of outfit mods, so that isn't a problem.
On blud
Tekken > MK, this has been true since the 90s.
I grew up on Tekken, went to MK, this Tekken brought me back… this MK is sadly putting a stain on the franchise for me
@@MAKEOUTtEEJ same but dropped mk after mkx, mk11 was a sign of a downhill failure and repetition
@@xjwr385 During the PS2 era I was a big fan of the MK trilogy, especially Shaolin Monks. Yes, arguable the only true banger Tekken had was 5. Come the PS3, I was killing it with MK9. That's still my fav MK game ever after Deception. But I fell off after MKX. I didn't even pay MK11 any attention. I can honestly say T8 is what brought the franchise back to the casuals worldwide who went MK and SF for awhile.
@@jainittai5104 Tekken Tag Tournament was another banger, but wasn't very successful because it was released in 2000, the first months of PS2 in the market.
@@NostalJuegos that's a very good point. I've even admitted I love T5 but, in supporting your point, T5 came at the tail end of the PS2's lifecycle. So, of course it was able to fully push the console to it's technological limits!
MKX was the best modern MK game mechanically.
💯
Yea they should've just built on that system and those mechanics and just added more to it like Tekken 8 did.
mortal kombat 1 is a done deal I've never seen ed boon so quiet in my entire life
Yeah idk wtf is going on
I quit MK1 really fast... Faster than any other fighting game. I love fighting games, and I typically try to find like minded people that want to learn and play the game together. On MK1 I grinded ranked and was pretty good, but I got sooo sick of people flipping out and loosing their shit on comms. I realized how toxic this community is and I left. Back to SF6. Now Tekken is my game and I love it
Me too my problem with mk1 is the toxic people
Same, I quit MK1 faster than KOFXV, and I hate that game
Dude it is absolutely wild. I was learning Lu Kang at one point, and he has strong zoning, so, obviously I was using that, and this dude who I didn't even know was on his mic all the sudden just starts screaming and flipping his shit. That was when I quit lol@@hashimtheking3788
Gave T8 a shot after over a decade of MK/injustice and I’m hooked honestly.
Every team i’m making a customized character i’m baffled I get to do all this stuff using just in game currency that you get in no time.
No greedy microtransactions, great communication from the devs, crossplay, a connection filter, the gameplay is super fun and a match never feels slow.
Tekken has had Customization since Tekken 5.
@@hurricane7727 never played any Tekken before this one so don’t know about it. Just here to voice my appreciation for this game. I was deeply invested after just 1 hour
@@sammythijs8641 That's Sad. Tekken 6 still has the Best Customization. You could custom Every part of the Character including Hands And Feet etc
@@hurricane7727doesn’t matter, we aren’t playing Tekken 6 are we? I mean I’m sure some still do, but Tekken 8 is great, sure you could have more customization, but there’s also games with no customization, not to mention Tekken 8 is great overall, gameplay, music, customization, ghost battle, great replay system. Not to mention Tekken drops with little to no issues, and the issues that were there, were responded on by Harada and his team and they took care of it quickly. Not even just fighting games he’ll a lot of FPS and other popular games don’t even communicate that quickly. I see no problems on Tekken 8
@@volktol4432 Tekken 6 Customization is still great Though. Clearly you never played it nor looked at its Customization. ALot of the modes you mentioned are in Tekken 6 as well and it also has Team Battle and Scenario Campaign
MK1 is a fun game ... but the game was created out of greed and not passion. It lacks content and its very expensive, they created a moral issue amongst gamers. Then competitive fighting game players get kinda bored because it lacks expression, like you said everybody plays the same with the same meta, with the same frame game, etc.
Then you have the Technical problems, I feelt kinda scammed at times with the state of MK1 release.
It feels like its only fun when you play offline at friends houses with some chips and beers.
SF6 is fast with short inputframes and high cost of resources.
Tekken 8 is deep and complicated and it is super rewarding to improve on.
Im not a pro player but i do love fighting games reached God in mk11, Demi-god Mk1,Plat 5 in SF6 and Tekken 8 my goal is Mighty Ruler and it has been the bomb.
NRS has slowed drifted further and further away from MKX by getting lost in the sauce so to speak💰💰
MK doesn’t have passionate fans anymore, they’re all casual. Nobody cares about getting good at MK because it feels cheap and stiff imo
Bring back MKX mechanics
Well, taking into account that casuals are the majority and feed the developers, I don't think they are the problem. The real problem is the lack of incentives to create a solid and big competitive community like Tekken. You can be also a passionate fan whitout being a tryhard.
Mortal Mess 1 yes IT’s absolutely terrible all the fighting styles are so basic and slow they didn’t add 2 fighting styles and a weapon as they should have and these ridiculous cameos are a wtf.
Now let’s go back in time to deadly alliance, deception and Armageddon those 3 games were and still are peak we had no bs cameos the best MK characters 2 different styles of fighting and a weapon chess mortal kart puzzle kombat and a krypt oh a fantastic conquest.
I gave back Mortal Mess 1 back as soon as quan cheese was released seriously I was getting herpys from having that stupid game in my collection lol
@@elanmimoun3898to be fair, tag fighting games while chaotic can be fun (MVC3, DBFZ) and they can be pretty casual friendly, but the way that NRS implanted is the problem. They made this more of an assist fighter and didn’t even do that well. They likely should have gone the tag route and done it how MVC3 or Tekken Tag Tournament
@@elanmimoun3898 I had the most fun playing deadly alliance
Throughout the 2010s MK was ahead of the other major franchises in terms of single player content, training mode, teaching tools, netcode, etc. Now, they’ve fallen behind and need to step their game up.
They had it in MKX and got comfortable
Tekken 8 is soooo much better
Hard to disagree with you flip 😂💯
That guy saying that tekken characters are cartoonish is a dei agent. He even read the comment in the voice of a cancel pig 😂 Tekken women arw attractive compared to mk women so the dei agents didnt like that but surprise surprise the actual consumer base like easy on the eyes women.

Appreciate it man! You have no idea!❤️
If timing was an issue it was more because of SF6 than T8 if you think about it. I remember having relatively high hopes for MK1 except for balancing, I knew MK1 would be either broken of flawed af just because of how strong kameos are but other than that I really thought MK1 was gonna be just as good in terms of quality as SF6 but it became clear quite fast that SF6 was way better in every aspect. You may prefer MK1 because you like it's lore or roster more than SF6 but it lacks features, balancing is terrible, it was full of glitches, micro transactions and so on. Tekken just solidified that MK1 is a lost cause but SF6 quality and features were the real "mk1 killer" imo.
Yeah if i could compare it basketball SF6 threw the alley pop and TK8 Slam Dunked it on MK1 😂
Exactly lol@@MAKEOUTtEEJ
To add context to this also, Tekken 8 delayed its Release as to not compete with SF6 for 2023. If it ever Happened to Release alongside MK1 and SF6 in 2023, MK1 would be left in the dust.

MK1 had everything to be one of the best games of the series and one of the great pillars of the new golden age of fighting games. Unfortunately, it does not deliver as a good product compared to the other major series in the genre with the lack of dev comunication and overall state of the game.
Harada and the rest of the tekken devs did something rare these days, deliver a complete and quality product that listens to the fans and communicates with the audience. Sad to see Netherrealm treat its audience they way they are
NRS, just dropped the game and said “here! here nigga, go have fun damn, leave us alone” 😂
@@MAKEOUTtEEJ They did a hit and dip on a fighting game nonetheless, a game that needs constant maintenance

Haven't gotten tekken 8 yet for financial reasons but I never even bought mk1... just looked like a worse mk11 / mkx to me
Mk's main competitor is probably SF6 though because its more of a projectile based 2D game . Tekken 8's success is just another big nail in mk1's coffin
Facts about ranked play Kombat league is genuinely mental agony especially after Demi god the lower ranks are annoying but if your above average you can counter the bs but when you get to higher ranks that’s when all the meta bs comes out
Game needs consistent meta changes if this is what we gotta deal with every season
I can definitely agree that mk1 has salty players especially injustice 2 but the crazy part is mk11 (even though its grindy) has more players than mk1 and also casual player will have a bad experience in koth and ranked. I stoped ranked at 7 tier and never really touched ranked again not a good look in my opinion.
Ranked I feel like should be the core of their game, and with poor rewards and toxic salty players, it’s just a bad mix
MK1 just looks so boring to watch, I got into Tekken 7 for how goofy and zany interactions can be
When I watched MK1 Sonic Fox Sindel, it's the same low high 50/50 levitating mix up, the same stagger pressure
Nothing in MK1 screams to me some artistic depth, the game is so binary on gameplay
Than you read about how PC was failed yet again as a port, and no content in MK1, they scrapped so many quality life features from MK11
WB pushing NRS on pacing which just is parallel to how Blizzard acts on gaming devs, MK hype is just not there
feels bad, I've been the kid playing MK1 on Snes, and first time seeing Scorpion or Subzero and how cool it was, to what MK is now
really hurts the future of what MK holds
I actually agree, watching is a lot harder to watch than play, the competitive scene also suffers due to lack luster movesets and gameplay variations
man i love all fighting games i even play that shaolin vs wutang game barely anyone knows i wish everyone was like this then we would get even more cool fighting games
Combat feels clunky.... yeh that guy cant walk straight
That’s what I’m saying 😂
Great video. Tom Brady's thoughts on MK1 are on point imo - there's no legacy elements in the gameplay like there are in SF or Tekken to build upon. NRS insists on making a brand new game and system from scratch - every game plays nothing like the game before it, the balancing is usually a mess, the game gets supported for 2-3 years at best, and then we get a new and different game with no gameplay elements that carry over from the previous games, losing the hardcore players and discouraging the high level players. It's a stupid formula
Wait Tom Brady..?
@@MAKEOUTtEEJ Bill Menoutis, aka MKTomBrady. Former MK pro player and scene personality, not the actual pro athlete 😆 controversial at times with his opinions and very critical of MK11 and MK1, but he's an MK OG with a lot of insight.

Mortal kombat fanboys will continue to defend mk1. Nrs made their sales as well. So nothing will change and nrs will keep making garbage games

Its everyones worst nightmare bro. Its a hell of a game
MK1 is MK1's worst nightmare.
Tekken is just such a collage level 3D fighter. it's fun and it'd deep as well as having enjoyable charaters and modes
No doubt someone has already commented this already BUT if they haven't Tekken 8 soon will also have Micro Transactions as they are introducing a shop.
I don't see Micro Transactions as a bad thing though, no one has to buy anything if they don't want too, it's just a cool extra add on for a game if you want it
MK is mk nightmare. It was losing track before T8 was even out. People were getting sick of it quickly. Tekken being a great game just expedited the process. MK1 is just a bad game with outdated and annoying gameplay loop. Down jab, throw is not interesting.
Yeah they unfortunately this game feels like MK11 with air combos and kameos, even some characters have the same moves from MK11, like Liu Kang > 3,4 string
people I know including myself were disappointed MK1. I dropped it so fast
Faster than any other NRS game
Been having a lot of fun with tekken 8 im getting ready for Eddie's return 😄
I can't speak from the whole community, but I've been a MK player since UMK3 and now I'm changing to Tekken 8 because MK is just so lost in so many ways. I'm done with the franchise until they go back to that more creepy and dark tone that was UMK3/MK4/MK Deception because that's why most of us MK players have MK as their favorite fighting franchise, the feeling, aesthetic and character; MK was never technical superior or competitive. Now, if you excuse me, I'm gonna get my ass kicked in T8 until I learn it
Mk Shaolin Monks also was Dark. I consider Mk Deception and Shaolin Monks the Best Ps2 Games.
A couple things on the video.
First thing is, tier lists are irrelevant. Always have and always will be. I've seen people play the considered "worst" characters and be extremely good with them. It is all about the amount of time you are willing to put in to learn said character. The only reason people invest so much into tier lists is because the majority are looking for the easy out/win. They don't want to put in the work to learn a character. They would rather do minimal work and climb the ranks without trying. Someone who knows the worst character in and out will always blow out someone with minimal knowledge on the best character in the game. It's all about the work effort at the end of the day. Which is why they are and always will be irrelevant.
Secondly, most fighting games today are treated like live service games. The reason they don't fix stuff right away or add more stuff to do is because it's about drip feeding the player content to keep them playing. With most of these companies, they have the mentality that if they drip feed content people will stay longer. Sadly in fighting games, that's never been true. Player retention is always highest 2-3 weeks after the game has been released and after that it is only the die-hards that are left playing. To entice those old players to come back and potentially spend money they'll pull out a new mode, more story, fix issues, etc. MK1 and MK11 are perfect examples of this. The issue with MK isn't that it is getting content though. It is that the game isn't getting fixed and causing people to not want to play. What is the point of playing a game if it is bugged? There isn't one. It is just going to ruin your fun. There was this old glitch with WWF No Mercy back in the day where it would randomly wipe out all of your progress. That caused me to not want to play that game ever. I loved that game, but constantly having to unlock characters and progression over and over just wasn't fun after a while. I just wanted to play the game and there was never a fix for it. When you don't put out your best from the get-go. Don't expect people to be ok with it.
Lastly, cross-play and rollback are a necessity. If you expect your game to survive at all in 2024, you better have the best versions of those implemented. Otherwise your game is going to die rather quickly. Cross-play just helps with the longevity of games. It allows people to keep playing it even when the player pool gets smaller and smaller. If you don't have those implemented. You shouldn't bother making the game in the first place. Power Rangers BFTG would have been a dead game a lot faster had they not implemented cross play. Guaranteed I could still find matches on that game, but MK1 or 11 that's locked behind a specific console...good luck.
I agree with your second and last points, the tier list argument is an interesting one. However play rate also factors into a tier list. So if JC is played by 15% of players and say, for example, Reiko is played by only 2% of the players, that instantly puts JC up higher on the playlist, and while it may not matter in terms of how good a character is, or the skill of each individual player, it DOES create a repetitiveness in terms of gameplay, that’s why maybe “tier list” don’t matter but game balancing is VERY important
Mk1 is the last call of video games. Its the game you take home when bleary-eyed and hammered and when you wake up and look at it you realize. "Oh shit, what did i do?"
Jesus that’s harsh 😂
Being average is it’s worse nightmare
Yeah not the best time to be average
You know I have to say that I’m close to elder god and I’ve been seeing a lot of different characters, low tier and top tier. So I don’t agree with that comment that you only see S tier characters the higher you get in ranked. I’m playing rayden Kano this season and I have not ran into another rayden/kano at all. I have seen different rayden chameo combinations. I’m gonna try baraka and kano next time. kano is my favorite cameo he gets you some many good set ups and gives you plus frames when you use his kano ball corretly.
I’ve ran into only either Raiden Kano or Raiden Stryker, yeah it’s still a lot of Top tiers, compared to lower tiers
Last time I put major hours into a mk game was mkX
Probably it’s the switch that held mk1 back the most, if it can’t run on switch, it’s not going in console or PC. Only reason they took out so much and are going really slow, it’s the switch
Just discovered your channel, cool stuff. I like MK1 (I got into it in MK11, so I'm still fresh to it). But I've been a Tekken main for ages, and Tekken 8 is a bit stronger on terms of cross-play, so it's actually kinda fun (no one dropped off during online play, whether they were angry or pretty, or not), and it looks good. Tekken is a bit "anime", while MK has that Hollywood feel to it, I appreciate it for two different reasons. They're both good but different....but MK1 doesn't have the best replay experience (I hate Invasions, and the pay-wall aspect is bad).
Yeah and I’m anime fan and grew up on Tekken soooo…. Yeah😂
They should stop changing the game with every new release
Build off past games and expand your franchise, yes I agree
Changing is not even the problem, the problem is that the way they change things make the new game always worse than the previous game
🤣 i love when you read comments
Thankyou man 😂
You’re correct that MK Characters look the same there’s been some discovery that all the male characters have the same vein running through the same bicep, not having variance in your character Models is pretty lame.

Nice channel. Do more shorts to get the channel noticed more.
Appreciate it, I’ve gotta get into that bag, not really sure which direction to start 🫠
be careful with shorts. Theyr'e useful for getting new subscribers but there appears to be a bad conversion rate between shorts and long-form videos. Basically, a lot of people who watch shorts- don't watch the longer videos. So it's definitely useful, but don't overly focus on them. Focus on your long-form videos, as that'll be best for getting you people who will continue to watch long-form videos.

Tekken 8 is Mk 1 and Street fight 6 worst nightmare seriously and I will say this the whole bases of a 2D is played out in the realm of gamming today with every game being a 3D model and rpg style MK 1 and Street fighter seems a little out dated.
Yeah they should’ve evolved from MKX
the idea that a 2D fighter is "out dated" is fucking stupid as shit. thats like saying Mario being a sidescroller is outfated so they shouldn't have made Wonder

@@hurricane7727 Yes, i want to see Soul Calibur back. Soul Calibur 6 had the same problem as MK1, was a really good game and the best in the series in terms of gameplay, but balancing issues and boring online killed the game too soon. When I say it’s not a “bad game” I mean, if you are someone who only focusing on honing your craft and discovering interesting things to do with kameos, it’s not terrible, it’s decent, I like the gameplay more than MK11 and that’s honest. And being truthful playing the game i still have fun, but all the other issues like desync, repetitive character selection, etc. Deter me from the game. I like the aesthetic, the roster, the kameo system, but they can ALL be better, it’s good not great, it’s a solid 6.5/10 for me, it can easily be an 8-9/10 if it improves in many aspects
Western studios need to start realising that people like looking at conventionally attractive people. I know this might shock Netherealm Studios and some other western game companies but when i get attractive looking men and women in Tekken and then i look at those mashed potato faces on MK1, im gonna gravitate towards Tekken. Also the novelty of mutilating your opponent in every disgusting way possible seems to have met its course and the shock value is gone. What is left is a boring game that is not even pleasant to look at. Tekken is flashier, faster, more hype and brought a roster of 32 characters at launch, none of that support only bs.

Same, I bought the full with DLCs cause MK hell yea, even if it’s not the best it would at least be fun. WOW was I wrong
MK just feels stripped down, too simplified. Easy to get into, but not much depth to master or learn. Flash in the pan game. Mcdonalds of fighting games. I felt like it needed something else. Tekken added the heat system for instance, SF has the drive system and many universal moves tied to it. The Kameo system feels too simple, its just new special moves and some combo extenders, it doesn't feel deep or interesting, and everyone uses the same couple.
A good fighting game doesn't need to be bloated, but it needs something to mix up combat. Too many MK games and characters play one specific way. You've seen one Scorpion you've seen them all essentially.
They also launched without crossplay for 3+ months, and have had tons of bugs and really bad PC issues that took FOREVER to fix. My trust is gone with NRS.
MK1 lacks layers of advanced features to it, especially movesets, yes TK8 can be overwhelming but, starting with a few strings and slowly evolving you diversity is an amazing feeling as a gamer.
@@MAKEOUTtEEJ Yeah and with Tekken you really don't need to use all your moves. They smartly present a "recommended list" first. You can get far with a heat engager, a poke, a low/high mix up, low attack, one bread and butter combo, and a few character specific specials or gimmicks.
As you master that, you naturally want more, but even in some pro sets you won't see a huge diversity of moves. Its nice the options are there though.
I don't even mind small move sets. Smash brothers is very simple in that regard yet is very deep mechanically and very popular.
Its a shame because MK1 did a lot right, it really just feels like it needed another year or 2 in the oven. MK needs to settle on its core gameplay style and build on that like Tekken has.
Yo. This is interesting
Thankyou bro
Tekken 8 is still in it’s early stages. Tekken 8 will keep growing for the next 7 years and I’m betting T8 will become the greatest fighting game of all time 🎉
Fighting game competition is fierce lately.
If you aint first or right on 1st place's ass, then you're last.
People will have 1 maybe 2 games they will devote to, and MK1 aint even 3rd place for me RN.
Individuals may like MK's feel more, but people want the best game for their 70$ and their time.
Tekken feels like a game doing everything to get you to like it,
MK1 just feels like a friend that just wants to hang out so he can bum money off you.
Tekken is the bar, If your fighting a game aint A+ people are gonna drop it.
In a lineup of Straight Gold, MK1 is "good, but flawed"
Yup, I’ve been mainly on Tekken and if I want to play a different fun fighting game, I’ll play SF6 or GGST, or he’ll, I sometimes even hop on Killer Instinct, DBFZ and still MKX and Injustice 2
NRS is thier own nightmare. They chose not to do better.
They wanna make sales, and make headlines, well now they’re in the headlines for the wrong reasons
I ain't gonna lie mk or WB should try to cater more to the FGC, fighting games live and die by there community. Sadly core wise they just need to balance there game better but they can't be doing half measures doing a game for casuals without content and making a pro circuit with bad balance.... So even if the game isn't bad they just gimped there success by banking on DLC characters and not actually content or balance.
agreed. DLC should be additional content, not what keeps the game relevant
@@MAKEOUTtEEJ :D i see you get it then, tho the over all issue i see its worst and bigger wuts sad bro is that for good or bad gaming has become packed with normies and casuals, least AAA gaming has Pivot hard to cater to said audience... This leads to games dying young cuz they lack true content and rely on the fear of missing out factor or follow trends, hence why WB games as a whole is in such bad shape.
Except the FGC doesn't make them the most money. Which is why they don't do that and cater to casuals. Casuals will spend the money. The FGC likely won't and they know this.
@@sjue316 Problem is all these issues are first found by FGC/Loyalist to the game, then the casuals, then the game it’s a bad reputation, the ones who say “Idc about all that other stuff” are people who casually play the game.
@@MAKEOUTtEEJ When and who finds out is irrelevant. Whether or not they fix the game is what matters. Which they haven't, nor have they ever really addressed it. Most they've said is a patch is coming. Honestly, if you fucked up a game bad enough that casuals notice the problems. It's probably not a very good game to begin with. Because when casuals notice issues, that's when a company runs into trouble.
Still doesn't change my argument any. Casuals spend money and that's what companies will always cater to most. That's why MK's stale formula has remained the same since MK9. It's a formula that casuals can digest without feeling overloaded. However, people are finally realizing just how stale the gameplay really is as they can't branch out and do as much as they can in other games. The game's limitations and the forced way NRS wants you to play is what makes it not fun. Not to mention their idea of "balance" is nerfing everything. So when they stop patching a game the last viable characters are the ones that didn't get nerfed hard. Not a great system.
Also, DLC characters are content. It's just not the content that YOU'RE wanting. It's still content and characters make people return to games more than new game modes. Always will.
Idk bro I was super underwhelmed by MK1. I only got it cuz my friend is a big MK head. SF6 is such a better game in every way, and T8 trounces them both HEAVY - which is saying a lot since 6 has that decent single player mode.
Haven’t gotten in SF6 , will soon tho, I heard good things for the most part from it tho, and to hear Tekken trounces is kinda shocking to me
@@MAKEOUTtEEJ tekken is the most polished, the most feature-rich. When I play different characters in tekken I'm always rethinking my choice for a main because so many of them are super fun and varied. When I played 6 and 1, I found my main quickly and stuck with them because a) there's not a lot of choice and b) each fighter fulfills a niche type. I feel like in tekken there's a lot of fighters with so many avenues of playstyle.
Im going to be honest i jusy feel like the live service moddel is falling apart and companies are destroying the reputation of their IPs for short term profits. Things are changing more games are coming out and being consumer friendly. Have bandai namco have done well to pivot on that change
But the topic of crossply though i have 3 times the amount of people i can play with on tekken and its to the point i never have enough time to practice in between games
It also dosnt help that it seems like Mortal Kombat is AFRAID to make prettt characters, especially women. When they first showed Tanya I genuinely thought it was Devorah.😂
Its really showing the difference between Western and Japanese publishers and developers.
They need to stop trying to reinvent and stick to what's been working
Who would have thought that taking the time to lovingly craft a game instead of pumping one out every 2-3 years would have better results, I know Im just as shocked as you are
I also don't know why the fighting games become good or perfect after 2 years or something.. Is it so hard to make them balanced on day 1.. Maybe it is maybe it's just too many things. MK11 is perfect now but it wasn't that perfect on day 1.
Yeah idk what the deal is with gaming developers now. I don’t understand the logic of having your game ass at launch and better two years later. You only have 1 time to make a first impression so why start off half assed?
there's no fixing the cameo system, to me that killed the game it's so goofy and i aint a casual but the way its implemented is trash
Bro, MK1's greatest problem is that MK11 is still on the market let's be real. MK is objectively never as good as Tekken, that really should not even be discussed. The only thing keeping MK "alive" ( I say "alive" because at the moment MK1 is at 800 players on steam ) is the fact that it's so well known. I played MK since I was a kid, I played Street Fighter since I was a kid. I've only discovered Tekken in 2021 or 2022 but I can say with 100% certainty, even if it kinda hurts, that Tekken is miles ahead of both franchises.
I remember playing MK in 1992.. fell in love. started playing in tournaments in MK2 and MK3... placed 2nd in the USA over a system called XBAND in 1995-1996. loved the franchise for so long, even got MK tattoos to keep forever. for the first time ever I sold a copy of MK. Mk1)2023) i put almost 390 hours into... I tried so hard to like the game, but TO ME, its the worst MK since Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance. The kameos killed it for me, the robotic, stiff, clunky and horrible engine/mechanics just wouldnt allow me to enjoy the game. i enjoyed the story mode. Invasions is the worst add on ever (its a mobile game) I dont like being negative, but MK1(2023) is the final nail in the coffin. MKX, MK11 and now this... TO ME, its not Mortal Kombat. it has the paint job, but thats it. I am glad you enjoy it, i wish i could. great video.
Mk Deception and Shaolin Monks was Way Better than Mk Deadly Alliance ( Plus Liu Kang Gets To Kill Shang Tsung in that Game).Deception had a Powerful Final Boss , Had Classic Stages, has Noob Smoke a Tag Team Character , Best Konquest Mode and even if Characters weren't played you can still meet them in the Konquest Mode and go to Alot of Different Realms.
@arnelariate with the bigest cope i've seen LMFAO
I liked Mk11 a bit more than T7. But T8 is fucking miles ahead of MK1
Fuck that Tekken fanboy tbh, Tekken is my fav fighting game but this vitriolic us vs them mentality is so stupid, the FGC really ain't big enough for that.
Anyway, it's weird since I "grew up" on T7, SFV and the new MK games so I never saw the 2d series' when they weren't getting shat on, but at least 2d has Project L to look forward to, looks like a 2d player's dream
Fighting games uplift other fighting games, we need to stick together 💯
I grew up with Mk Deception and Shaolin Monks. I still like these 2 games.
dragon ball has not aged well 💀
Mortal Mess was terrible I bought it when it first came out got the bs vann damn skin whatever and played it and it was awful I was getting really tired and mad at that game also gave me herpys so I gave it back when quan cheese was released I mean dude look at Deadly alliance deception and Armageddon we had chess mortal kart racing a puzzle 2 different fighting styles create your own character fantastic skins and every mk character also a crypt I am sticking with DEADLY ALLIANCE DECEPTION AND ARMAGEDDON.
Mortal mess 1 is nothing but combos and it’s boring af.
Tekken is fantastic I absolutely love tekken
Herpys??????😂😂😂
alot of opinions i agree with alot I don't from these people. but one thing I will say if you are a TRUE gamer even if you haven't played tekken, you gotta realize MK1 has way to many flaws man.. still like I said great game. but man. roster dullness, hella characters don't interest me. meta is starting to make me wanna kms , NO CROSS PLAY, and they keep making there games from fucking scratch. THEN throw on top of all that play TEKKEN................. MANNN that game WELL make you understand what a high quality fighting game should be. even if you don't like the game play itself there's plenty of other things to appreciate. menus MWAH, ways to learn MWAH, no micro transactions to customize?? MWAHHHHHHHH I could go on and fucking on but imma stfu now
Mwahhh😂💯
since the FIRST game, mk was never a polished game... it became famous because of the blood, fatalities and the realistic graphics for the game, the inicial story was nice too, BUT as a fighting game..... was a mess, ppl love it for the nostalgia effect, but it was never a great fighting game, it was more the gimmicks that hold the franchise until today. impossible to compare to tekken
Really? People say Ultimate Mk3 was A Great Game
So only tekken 8 ??? Yall was acting tuff and bold when SF6 came out now look at you all and I’m here for the downfall lol
Funny how yall waited 8 games to finally pick this up
I played Tekken 1-6 missed out on 7….
@@MAKEOUTtEEJatleast one MK fan can admit they knew
Mk1 defo seems to be the worst of the new big 3 but tekken shouldnt be compared with 2d games, theyre too different. Ill never understand why ppl keep doing it
MK1 was trash on arrival, rip circus. L.
Takken has some problem with online connectivity issues. I've had some and know a player who still cant do online.
Really? That’s interesting 🤔
@@MAKEOUTtEEJ I haven't had any problems in online... it has worked perfectly for me. I heard about some issues, but that was on release because masive ammount of players collapsed the servers. It's a great experience now.
Mk9 was the last good mk game for me, rest just not as fun to play.
My problem with mk1 is cheap things and toxic community....🥴
I'm the very few that still likes mk1 better
Tekken is light years better
