American here, I love the Aussie attitude " I'll get a machine, couple of chains, not problem"
"yeah nah, she'll be right mate."
"We'll give it a go mate!"
thats because thats what murican attitude used to look like (and maybe can look like again?)!!!!
“I’ll bring a twenty-tonne digger home” - well, why wouldn’t you/
@@highlander147 I've done a lot of machine recoveries in the past 30 years, I started thinking about how they would load out as soon as they started walking around the yard, good luck to everyone involved
Daryl's like a kid in a candy store amidst all thos tank pieces 😂
If were being honest I think anywone watching this would be too. Even If they cant label every part like Daz can.
Was just about to put the same comment up 😂
More like a kid going for the presents under the tree
Did you have to upped the medication for Daryl after this trip, my wife and I were both laughing watching him exploring
or a toy store he was so happy 😁😁😁😁😁😁
That’s one of the most enjoyable episodes of all workshop Wednesday’s I’ve watched so far. The pure joy on Daryl’s face the entire time is just awesome!
pretty sure he some seriously sore facial muscles from grinning non-stop for hours on end. Good times...!
I'm in America with my heart pounding at these treasures being found and destined for preservation. Thank you to our amazing Aussie friends and Allies for working so hard to keep these historic machines available for inspection and enjoyment!
Yep, in Indiana the closest thing you'll see sitting in a barn is a VW bug!!
I literally smiled throughout this entire video. It's like watching an episode of American Pickers... The shear joy in Dazzles face when he discovers each new treasure is just so satisfying. Hats off Kurt this video is just sooo good mate!! I seriously cannot wait for the next installment of this story.... 😊🥰
This is like a full motion movie.
Wholesome moment when he found the dashboard.
This is WAY better than American Pickers.... we know that Daz is the real deal not some made for TV bloke.
amrican pickers ON STEROIDS!!!!! "SHOW US YOUR RUSTY PLATNIUM MATE!"
I was grinning like a possum eating sweet taters! Reminded me of me when we used to go Midnight requisitioning for parts in the motor pool! "Hey, a muzzle plug that aint ripped or torn!!"
As a guy being around since you guys had 40 k subs, it fills me with so much joy to see this channel being so close to 100 000 subs.
Well deserved, mates. Go on with making this superb content.
And perhaps we can start having 30-minute segments
I can't believe that they don't have a million subscribers myself.
The content is interesting, entertaining and informative, as well as regular uploads to keep us satisfied while still hungry for more...
Johnno you magnificent bastard!
As a former Aussie Armour guy I can't tell you how happy it makes me to see original items being made available to the Museum for preservation
Thanks Johnno and thanks to all from the Museum for saving these bits of Australian military history
Grant Tanks are like busses. You wait ages for one to arrive, and three come along at once.
I've never seen Daz grin like that. What a great bloke Johno is for assisting you guys. Congratulations on an amazing find for the Museum.
Let's be honest those pieces will be of far more use in the museum than just sitting in a yard somewhere, and if donated, will be a fitting memorial to Jonno's dad who collected them.
@@samrodian919 amen to that!
I thought he was going to wet himself, he was so excited!
Daz was over the moon. Lad was going places. :))
Johnno seems like an awesome bloke!
I served 35 years in the Royal Canadian Armoured Corp. I love the work you folks do in bring these old treasures back to life. This particular episode had me thinking, "Kid in a candy store" throughout. Great video again
Thanks to John Parker and his Dad for saving all of this rare equipment all those years and then John being so open about sharing it with the world
Holy macaroni... an nearly intact Australian Army Grant, a Stuart, and all those other parts... I hope that company donates the whole lot to you guys!
Hey, keeping them all those years has gota be worth something, either way bringing them to life is awesome.
Nothing wrong with paying good money for them, and I'm sure a very fair deal will be made. Ultimately just finding the stuff now is worth its weight in gold and there's bound to be things that can be sold on/swapped further down the road. The good part is that the current owner is prepared to let it go and be useful to someone else, a lot of "serious collectors" would rather just let stuff sit in their field/shed and watch it rot rather than let another collector buy it and do something with it. Good on Jono for being a decent bloke and having his head screwed on.
Jesus Christ you can't donate that.
Pay the man what it's worth and then some for keeping it for all these years in original condition. That's the LEAST you can do.
@@TheManLab7 depends, in some cases the tax break is worth more than the money.
@@c1ph3rpunk that's what "cash in hand's" for. So ALL if the money goes to them and non of it goes to the greedy tax man.
Welcome to "Aussie Military Pickers" starring Daryl & Kurt.
...Now that's the type of "treasure hunt" all WW2 military vehicle enthusiasts dream of being part of. Can't wait for Part 2. 👍
You got that right!
so which one is "the bearded charmer"?
Places like this still exist, but few remain , absolutely amazing, our forebares were the master's of recycling, lest we forget the men who served for Australia 🇦🇺, cheers from Adelaide.
I don't think I've heard anyone so excited and happy in a long time - A joy to watch and can't wait for part 2.
Talking about finding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! This is a gazillion times better! Congratz guys! Only thing needed now is to find funding for another addition to the museum and give it the name of this guys dad who got all the stuff. Mind boggling!!!!!!!
Don't you mean dazillion times better?
@@laurisikio Whatever zillion you prefer! :)
for the production value this channel really deserves a million subs.
That shy of relief of all the parts and bits that he would not have to make by hand is understanding. And that joy of finding so much is like a dream, now lets get to work!
I'm really happy that you fellows found this stash of parts. It's great to know that even the smallest parts will be well looked after. As an American living in the central U.S. I'll likely never see your collection in person but is a treat to watch your videos and marvel at what your group has accomplished. Thank you all for preserving these fantastic pieces of history. God bless each of you.
Johno is a top bloke! Great episode, full of surprises.
So much excitement, so much gold. His father Robert was a customer of mine when I worked for Castrol, I remember all those tanks well, he would even start one and drive it round the yard now and again if you were lucky. Nice to see it is still there . PS, Seymour is the home of tiger snakes in VIC 🐍
no tigers out this time of year
That's crazy cool man. I'm glad you had those experiences and will see them give parts or be restored!
This episode was like finding the Seven Cities of Gold! Holy cow! Everywhere you looked was a treasure just waiting to be freed. My hearts a palpitating like a steam engine at full speed. Thanks for making me remember what it was like searching through my grandfather's machine graveyard on the ranch. No tanks, but wonders to behold as a kid.
You would be amazed at how many captured and Australian built tanks and heavy vehicles made their way to Australia to be used on farms. A lot of our farming equipment was melted down to turn into weaponry, so after the war, our armed forces collected tonnes to bring back to work on farms.
Seems only right, eh?
Hello. I must make an acknowledgement to John, I believe his name is, that realized the significance of his collection. It is truly amazing. It is wonderful that all those parts were saved! The fire control and gun laying bits are like gold, It was thrilling for me here in the US, it must have been a very special day for you all. The Twin Detroit Diesel 6-71 power pac is a great find. It is even more rare than the radial engine in front of it. It would be wonderful if it could be found out which tank it came out of, and restored to running condition. they have a truly unique sound, and I bet there is even more stuff in the weeds and barns, forgotten for years. The excitement comes through in spades! It looks like at least 2 possibly 3 restorible units plus many parts that possibly can help other museums complete theirs. It is so good to see historically important stuff saved instead of scrapped.
I guessed there been another Grant, but didn't expect to see three! I'd like to see all three go to the museum for restoration (there's surely enough parts there) but regardless, Johnno's a real great bloke for helping you out. Shows that good blokes and barn finds still exist somewhere.
It's also nice that he isn't one of those nothing is for sale blokes who lets stuff rust away into a paddock.
@@whiskeyinthejar24 exactly
@@whiskeyinthejar24 Yeah, seen that here in the UK. Very sad when it happens
They travel in packs mate. :))
Daz in long trousers was shocking enough!
Hearing Jono's amazing ability to identify so many obscure, randomly located chunks of rusted parts around the yard was impressive.
Roll on the next episode!,
Slacks*
What would we do without the old boys who loved and preserved our history. They are a dying breed. 😭 What a treasure trove of tank gems. I personally want to thank Jono and especially his dad for preserving these tanks.
What an astounding discovery, a troop of Grants restored and running now that would be sight to behold. Congrats from the UK 🇬🇧 guys. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Man that shed was the gift that kept on giving…what a score 🤙🏽
I’m sure Jono’s dad would be proud knowing the tank parts he purchased are going into quality museum pieces 👍
Aladdin's cave is the understatement of the century... Wow what an amazing amount of cool stuff.
Hoosier here, what a freakin treasure trove. Your “no problem” attitude makes me feel right at home. Nothing better than a daunting task done with a smile and a ton of hard work and heavy equipment.
After watching all the hard work put in on the Grant for months, to see you two find such joy in essentially a "junkyard" of sorts is astonishing. The best part is the owner just leadung you around like puppies to show you all the treasures his father had the forethought to hang on to and not send to scrap.
Cant wait for next weeks episode, this is awesome! Jono you and your dad are legends!!!
Welcome to sunny Victoria, we’ve got it all! 👍🏻🇦🇺
That is the Australianest Australian thing I have seen since I came to Australia 27-years ago. You wouldn't see this anywhere else in the world. I love this channel and people like Johno & Daz.
So happy you guys found this treasure, as a fan from the states I’m glad you are bringing these pieces of history back to their former glory. My bucket list is to someday come visit your museum
It's an amazing place! I heard that it's completely funded by one eccentric rich guy who wanted to preserve military equipment and give his town a great museum.
I'm not usually watching/interested in the Grant restoration: but I must even admit, this is REALLY interesting/informative!! 😊 👍
Totally agree
I do not know how Johno kept a straight face whilst waiting to show Daryl that dash😁! Great finds.
Absolutely incredible. And what's really quite interesting is that Jono seems to know a hell of a lot about them as well.
This is such a wholesome video. The pure joy in Daryl's voice every time he sees a new bit is fantastic.
LOL, Daryl was like a kid in a candy shop, running from amazing find to amazing find. You could tell, John was so happy to find someone who appreciated all the history he and his Dad had preserved. I am sure there are other museums and collectors around the world looking at this footage and spotting some other piece (large or small) off to the side, not even commented on, which is the piece they have been looking for for years. It is so awesome that these armoured vehicles (and all the extra parts and bits and bobs) have been saved from the salvagers. Huge thanks to John and his family. I look forward to seeing Part 2. Great job Kurt on documenting the visit to the Treasure Cave!
This has to be my favourite of all the AAAM vids that Ive watched since the early days. It's unreal what's still out there. It's fantastic that what would been considered farm junk for a long time will now get a new life.
So wholesome seeing how excited Daryl is.
Jono's Magical Jungle Jackpot! Just amazing. Hat's off to Jono and his Dad for collecting and saving all this history for just this kind of occasion.
Daryl's constant smiling was terribly infectious. When he said his cheeks were hurting...so were mine!
Daryl’s excitement makes me so happy. What a collection!
Daryl was so excited and laughed more in this episode than any past one.
The excitement in Daryl’s face and voice says it all about this video!!! WOW!! What a find!!! This is to remember!!!
WOW. What an incredible find. God Bless the people who preserve history.
This was worth the wait, what a find!
Was getting just as excited as Dazza. Was in Pukka last in September 2006, wishing I had have known about this place in Seymour.
Treasure Trove, delighted and amazed. I suspect you wouldn’t need a company issued jacket in Cairns, but sure need one south of the Murrey.
Makes my heart so happy. What a treasure!! The men and women who built these deserve to be recognized and lauded for their efforts.
I am so pleased for you to find so many original parts, this will make your life's more easier and speed up many projects .
so nice they moved the engines/power packs inside the barn. incredible suff
John no, you’re a bloody legend mate. Wonderful to see honest aussies keeping our heritage safe. Kurtis, has Darrel came down off cloud nine yet?
It's great to see when a group of people who appreciate Australian Military history come together like that.
It's just so wonderful seeing caring, enthusiastic people getting so excited. Great video! thank you for posting.
Well he just made a quick million dollars. Holy sheet what an absolute gold mine of aus armour.
Can't wait to see the next episode in the series. Man there is a whole gold mine of parts and pieces. You can make a whole fleet of Grand tanks run again with all those parts.
I watch your videos every week religiously. This episode is truly the best one yet for many reasons. Darrel looked like a kid on Christmas morning not being able to focus on one thing. All the years of collecting have preserved so much history piece by piece. Looking forward to next week and part two. Not that it applies but a bonus video showing what other bits of history are around his property. Fascinating and thank you both so much.
An awesome Workshop Wednesday. I have watched it all 3 times already! Daryl's face and expressions on seeing the Grant Tank bits in the Barn and grounds was fantastic. Roll on Part 2! Cannot wait.
I feel the excitement here in the Netherland, where it is summer and up to 24 degr today.
Lol. That's winter in Queensland.
@@trevorpom That’s really disturbing🤣
Victoria is colder than a freezer in Winter . But gets putrid hot in summer
Absolutely astonishing!
What a gorgeous collection of rusty gold!!
His excitement was contagious, it made me excited for him .what a place to be a kid growing up,heck Daryl was a kid again walking around there grinning like a school boy that stole a kiss from his first crush.
Daryl's passion for old rusty gold is infectious! I bet it was hard to get him to leave. I'm really looking forward to part two!
This brings back memories, my family logged and owned timber mills. I used to play on old army vehicles when they were parked on the weekends. Great video.
Johno is the ideal Aussie legend . Giving a peek at history. Can't wait for the next few restore vids. Great work guys. Keep it up to show the the future. Amazing
Others have already mentioned this, but watching Daryl’s excitement with each piece that was pointed out to him was great to see! Thank you to the Parker’s for showing all of us their collection?
Absolute mad respect for you all down under, doing amazing work to find and preserve these vehicles, and uploading all of this information too. Thats just amazing, its all amazing
Talk about a barn find, you blokes have struck Aladdin's cave! . Looking forward to the next instalment of recovery back to Cairns.
Unbelievable! What a find! I honestly thought Daryl’s voice would give out at finding the grenade mesh😉! Good training for the laughing muscles as well!
Such scrapyards are like heaven for tank restauration crews - what an awesome find!!!
Johno rediscovering all these parts in his own yard is so funny. His reaction to realising how much he actually has is great. Can't wait to see them being restored, these are some amazing vehicles and parts.
This was such a fun episode! Thanks for sharing it
Im overjoyed at your excitement and happy for this find. I can only imagine the faces of everyone at the shop at what you will show up with.
I so happy that guy was willing to let the museum get all those tanks and parts to save them, get everything he is willing to part with.
Thank you Johnno & everyone involved, Preserving our history is so important.
That episode was so good, I had to watch it twice in a row. Loving it!
I am watching for the second time also. I love this episode.
У вас очень крутой канал по реставрации,жду с нетерпением новых выпусков .Удачи вам в поиске новой техники для музея.
I cant wait to see the next Workshop Wednesday! Watching Daz explore this yard was priceless. Its a shame you didn't find it in time for the Grant resto.
Amazing! thanks for bringing us along Daryl's excitement made it even more special he couldn't believe his eyes..
Put's a smile on ones face to see someone so happy. Very contagious.
What an unbelievable find! It's like finding and old armory/motor pool for those antique tanks. Looking forward to seeing what content comes from sifting through all of those bits and bobs for what appears to be just amazing treasures!
Daryl's delight moves this old tread head to tears. Congratulations of this treasure trove. It could not find a more deserving new home.
this is incredible. Can't wait for part 2 and any series restoring them.
I get all excited just watching the footage … fantastic, almost unbelievable, hats off, four cheers!
Haha, Daz was like a kid in a candy store. How can a trove like this go unnoticed for so long? What an amazing collection.
Absolutely unbelievable!!!!
I thought Daryl was going to hit Johno at one stage. What a collection and what a joy to see their faces. Can’t wait for part two
I'm smiling ear to ear on this one too. This guy has so much stuff! I'm betting those lads are still having dreams about finding all this.
What an amazing find. Are these being donated to the museum or being bought? This is the definition of a barn find. I’m so happy for Daryl,it’s going to take weeks to get the grin off his face!😁😁😁
You guys are lucky, considering Seymour is so close to Puckapunyal, I'm surprised they didn't contact their museum.
The joy in his face is fantastic. Not many people get to love their work
Holy smokes! You weren't kidding! So please tell us that the museum will be able to get all of those bits, parts, and vehicles - the would provide so many great restorations and additions to the collection
I wish I could get this excited about things again, maybe not tanks, but anything! LOL!
I'm looking at visiting you guys over the next couple of months . I'm a Toolmaker so was wondering if the workshop would be kinda open 😉. All the freshly painted stuff up front looks nice , but i like the rusted out and blown up stuff out the back 🤣.
Johnny and his old man are true Aussie legends for preserving this kit and deserve an honourable mention in the museum. Well done .
Awesome find! You probably could build at least another Grant in running condition from those 'ruins' and parts. That trip was like Christmas for you guys. I can't wait to watch part 2.
Well worth the wait ,looks like a tank brigade hiding in the Bush.
Brilliant to see the enthusiasm and also so many wonderful parts and hulls!
This episode had me smile ear to ear the entire time. Just delightful. Can't wait for the next.
Thanks for your hard work and dedication guys.
I'm blown away. I would love to see one fully restored with all original parts. What a great find
