This video especially helped me when studying for the midterm. I needed to hear this lecture at a much slower pace and being able to rewind this and take notes helped a lot
Hi .... It helps me too.... I just learn the whole process for my development biology paper. Well it's extremely random but I wanna know you. Myself Muhammad Rizwan Ayub from Pakistan... You?
I remember feeling really overwhelmed after this lecture in class. Being able to go back and watch this video over and over until I understood and remembered it was great. Your videos always make things seem so much simpler than they did in lecture.
the way you broke down the meaning within the word itself was very helpful and I really like how you added that in there. Also, I liked how you compared the male and female systems quickly. quick extra information is always helpful. Because of all the information given your color coordinating was a very helpful addition
You presented a lot of information in this video and I felt that the flow chart and labeling each stage really helped me to visualize it. It also helped that you labeled how many chromosomes there were at each stage.
The flow chart and drawings were simple and clear. I liked how you broken down each process of oogenesis and organized additional details in a different color.
This video helped me understand more about the miosis 1 and miosis 2 phases and how they relate to fertilization of the egg. These types of lectures with the drawing on the glass is my favorite type so far and feels futuristic.
I really liked the breakdown of the name oogenesis, it actually helped me remember what it means. I also likes seeing the different stages drawn out like that. Visuals like that help with my learning. - MA BIO 327 FALL 2019
The diagram was broken down in a very helpful and understanding way. Emphasizing the changes in the cell names and labeling the processes between these changes cleared my confusion completely.
Thank you for breaking this process down; it helps to provide a clearer picture that can be reviewed over for better understanding. This is perfect for review for testing
great video and I'm glad you explained the main differences between oogenesis creating 1 oocyte per oogonium and spermatogenesis creating 4 sperm from 1 spermatogonium
Well done!! I thought this video was great because of how it was structured. It is only 6 mins but it includes so much information, which is so helpful. Also, using different colors and arrows make it easier to grasp. Thank you
This was a really well explained video, I understand the concepts and how an egg is created, where before I was unclear the difference with developing a follicle and developing an egg.
This concept was difficult for me to understand in lecture but it is easier when it is a video because I am able to go back and reply parts I didn't understand. The diagram you drew was really helpful
Do u have midterm 😭😭 lucky you, i have one exam at the end of the year and i have to study 250 lectures 😭😭🥲 because we don’t have midterms. How is the exam ?
Explaining oogenesis with the physiology of child birth or how the stages of puberty correlates with the specific oocytes was affective in helping me learn this information!
During lecture, I felt a little confuse with oogenesis and spermatogenesis. It made sense but I stuggled with the whys and hows. The powerpoint was not much help either, but this video was extremely hepful in clearing up my confusion! These videos have been great. Thank you!!
This was too much to take during lecture. I am very glad for this video as it introduced the steps in a much slower pace and I can always go back or rewind the video if I ever get lost. Super interesting to learn about how a fertilized egg arises!
Video lecture offered a lot of useful information about oogenesis. Interesting to learn the difference between the oogonium being asymmetric vs spermatogonia being symmetric.
This video was very helpful, especially since I was not able to fully grasp oogenesis in lecture. I liked how this video and the drawling broke down how many chromosomes are in each step.
I was curious if the subtitles were accurate and due to your clear speaking voice the automatic subtitles are pretty accurate. I would suggest checking if your subtitles look good just in case someone who is hearing impaired can learn from your videos!
I thought it was interesting how you talked about how the oogonium is asymmetrical while the spermatogonium is symmetrical. This explains why females eventually undergo menopause because of the lack of eggs and estrogen. Great video overall.
in lecture I felt like this went over my head, not being a bio major but you clearly explained it and this was a great source in helping me understand it in simpler terms for something that seemed so difficult for me
The videos are great for me, it helps me understand the concepts much better than any articles... I this video I especially liked how Professor Givon wrote down the whole process with the chromosomes (they get confusing to me).
I did a little digging and read that the purpose of these polar bodies is to serve as "dumping grounds" for extra sets of chromosomes and remove defective ones, which makes sense. Thank you!
I was very confused about oogenesis before watching the video. When I read it in the text book it was hard to picture the division and the Phases. Also I have a better understanding about the difference between spermatogonia.
I’m ready to tackle the female reproductive system. I believe its the second to last or last chapter, I’ll be knowledgeable on the subject. Thank you for your videos, they are easy to follow, your notes and flowcharts are easy to understand. I also like your color coding.
I can see the difference between the stages. It is very clear, but I don't know why I am still a bit confused. maybe it will make more sense when putting it into practice.
Oogensis was something that was difficult for me to comprehend and this video made it a lot more clear for me. Thank you for taking the time to describe each part and making these videos!
am I the only one completely mind boggled by how we wrote invertedly the entire time... SKILL!!
u can practice to write invertedly, it does takes time , but it's good for ur brain.
theres a screen transparent infront of him so he writes it there
he might have inverted the video
Exactly, look at the buttons on his piqué.
He is statically not left-handed either.
He might have laterally inverted the video .simple as that💨
Great job making these videos short and to the point while still having all the information necessary.
This really helped me because you drew it out! I am definitely a visual learner so these videos really help!
Thank you for breaking down this video and making it short and sweet. It was straight to the point and very helpful!
I thought this was going to be a long video, but it went faster than I thought. Really helpful when you break it down like that
This video especially helped me when studying for the midterm. I needed to hear this lecture at a much slower pace and being able to rewind this and take notes helped a lot

Also, I liked how you compared the male and female systems quickly. quick extra information is always helpful. Because of all the information given your color coordinating was a very helpful addition
i like how you simplified this process while using arrows--leaving out room for confusion.
Thx so much! You really broke it down and made it sound so logical and easy 😄
You presented a lot of information in this video and I felt that the flow chart and labeling each stage really helped me to visualize it. It also helped that you labeled how many chromosomes there were at each stage.
Thank you for making this video, I definitely needed this to be reiterated.
The flow chart and drawings were simple and clear. I liked how you broken down each process of oogenesis and organized additional details in a different color.
I am a visual learner so having the diagram definitely helps!
I like the way you opened up the video with breaking down the meaning behind Oogenesis. Well informed video!
I like how everything was broken down it made a lot more sense and the visuals help out a lot.
This video helped me understand more about the miosis 1 and miosis 2 phases and how they relate to fertilization of the egg. These types of lectures with the drawing on the glass is my favorite type so far and feels futuristic.

Being able to stop and rewind a part that I did not understand helps me not miss a step with this hard concept.
This video was super helpful because it was very straight forward and short so I didn't lose focus.
This video was so easily to follow! I thought that oogenesis was so complicated, but you really cleared up all the confusion I was having!
The diagram was broken down in a very helpful and understanding way. Emphasizing the changes in the cell names and labeling the processes between these changes cleared my confusion completely.
The breakdown of this was super helpful!! I enjoyed watching this video.
I needed a refresher regarding the oocytes and which stages they are found in, now i think i can remember it for good.
Thank you. This made understanding it so much better
Thank you for breaking this process down; it helps to provide a clearer picture that can be reviewed over for better understanding. This is perfect for review for testing
A lot of information was provided, glad I can pause and rewind to make sure I totally understand the topic.
Great way to show the cell division and reproduction of these stem cells. The chart leaves a very simple outline that can be easily followed.
Helpful video, the flowchart on how a fertilized egg is formed was excellent!
BIO 321 2019 breaking down oogenesis was helpful because it helped me figure out how the process works. the visuals and numbers helped a ton!
great video and I'm glad you explained the main differences between oogenesis creating 1 oocyte per oogonium and spermatogenesis creating 4 sperm from 1 spermatogonium

It is impressive that you can write invertly, or you just flip the video.
Great video!
Watching this video after lectures helped clarify the cell division
Being able to write down the diagram then go back and listen to the lecture helped me understand better the process of Oogenesis
This was too much to take during lecture. I am very glad for this video as it introduced the steps in a much slower pace and I can always go back or rewind the video if I ever get lost. Super interesting to learn about how a fertilized egg arises!
Very good job explaining a difficult topic.
Video lecture offered a lot of useful information about oogenesis. Interesting to learn the difference between the oogonium being asymmetric vs spermatogonia being symmetric.
Great video! really helpful and easy to understand.
Nice breakdown but you didn't talk about the the polar bodies and how the secondary oocyte differentiate to form the the ovum
thank you prof!
Sir which harmon initiates the prophase at puberty ???????
