      Nah the higher ups told him to shot more 3s even with no shooter to force develop a 3 point shooting culture, but he so inlove making style adopting to the player he currently have than developing a culture. suns was stuck with no identity.

    It seems like Earl Watson would be a great coach but he got involved with a bad situation with the Phoenix Suns. I would love to see him in a better situation.

      @mommatoldme ^ this. Of course he is going to have a plan that he wanted to play out a certain way to talk about, but in reality with the suns he created a lot of situations where players didnt want to be here and he got rid of a lot of our great players for close to nothing

    Earl Watson is damn near a dream coach. He may not have the reputation of other coaches like Phil or doc but he has the attitude that nba players would kill for. He’s 100% honest like he said he told one the Morris brothers “hopefully we get you traded in the next 2 weeks”... the fuck he is trying to get you to better in your game & prepare you for a possible trade. He understands athletes just like Gill & other NBA players. & from the interviews I’ve seen with nba players most of them if not all ask for that honesty they want to know if there is a possible trade coming or what the actual game plan is for there career at a team they all deserve that peace of mind & earl has no problem giving them that.

      @@Middy3 He had a whole season with the Suns then proceeded to lose two games by 50 before he was fired. No coach should be losing by 50 especially in the NBA. He should stick to assisting or try out college before he was made head coach but Sun's organization made the wrong choice of making him one before any experience because they're cheap.

He was crossing dudes up, his passing was always crisp, his midrange was serviceable, his moves and footwork on that block were exquisite. How long out took him to get their means nothing. And what u perceive of kg also means nothing. We are talking about their skill. Nuance is irrelevant here. None of what u said takes away from their extreme skill level. Kg was a bigman. Yes him and dirk had unique perimeter oriented games at their size, but they were technically still bigs, unlike a Giannis.

    As a Suns fan, this was a one of the best interview I've seen. Earl was dropping straight knowledge. He was dealt a bad team and was put in an impossible situation in Phoenix. That whole bit about analytics and being forced to do what he didn't wanna do was the proof that management was to blame, not much him being a horrible coach. Analytics is to blame for today's horrible basketball product. Before analytics, players just played ball and the best players truly shined.
    Today's Devin Booker won't be as good without Earl getting him started on the path to greatness. Respect this man so much. Don't listen to the experts on the ESPNs, they don't know shit!

    The Knicks should of really considered Earl Watson as a coach...he knows how to think the game as a player..Some team needs to snatch Earl up on their coaching staff or head coach spot.
