Hearing Earl Watson speak sounds like I need him on my teams coaching staff.
You a sixers fan too
But not a head coach lol
@@Zilla702Killa no, but he definitely could help young guys develop

I love how Earl broke down the whole team roles for the Suns.
💯
And they still couldn’t follow along
Earl was engaged to Joy Taylor but they broke it off last year.
Saw a clip of it and literally came for that. A lot of Coaches could learn from that I think
Lo lmismo la
I like how Earl Watson broke down how he got prepared to play defense against certain players. That was dope. He showed its levels to being an NBA player.
Bro i dont want to hear this pattern sh*t from watson anymore every time for the past 5 years his been talking about this pattern sh*t on every interview the suns is way better when he left

Earl put DBook before himself. He is the definition of a players coach.
Not A Players Coach , A Coach Period‼️ That’s What You Suppose To Do As A Coach But Ego Has These Coaches Trippin .....
@@edwardonunez8076 I love this ! Exactly I hate the false dichotomy of a "players coach" vs a "traditional coach" Vogel was a traditional coach who now is a players coach then? Cuz you know LBJ doesn't get down with the bs. Ask David Blatt about that lol.
Nah the higher ups told him to shot more 3s even with no shooter to force develop a 3 point shooting culture, but he so inlove making style adopting to the player he currently have than developing a culture. suns was stuck with no identity.
He took all the heat so Book could become who he needed to.
This dude’s fade is immaculate
Exquisite fade
Yeah that fade is blurry 🔥
Easy work
Dude’s head looks like a shading gradient the fade is so nice
Lmao on my momma I was just sitting here thinking like “damn that’s a clean ass fade”
Watson was dropping gems. Great coaches adjust. Very good info on how he approached the game as a player and coach.
Hopefully he gets more coaching opportunities soon
I’ll admit used to didn’t rock with Gil but maybe the past 2 months I’ve been glued to this show.
Learning a lot
Welcome to the team!😎
How can u not fw gil🤣
He is right, reason why the bucks lost to the heat because they choose predictable bledsoe over brogdon who can actually create half court offense for giannis.
Bro!!!!! When they chose Bledsoe over Brogdon I literally SCREAMED!!!!!!!! I STG I felt like I shouldve been their GM!!
Brogdon is a much better fit for that team. He's really good at controlling tempo and creating...

Soon as I read this comment he said it 🤣😂🤣😂
It seems like Earl Watson would be a great coach but he got involved with a bad situation with the Phoenix Suns. I would love to see him in a better situation.
@mommatoldme ^ this. Of course he is going to have a plan that he wanted to play out a certain way to talk about, but in reality with the suns he created a lot of situations where players didnt want to be here and he got rid of a lot of our great players for close to nothing
@@hackrjack he wasnt the GM. He aint trade nobody
The Suns were just under .500 this year. At least they weren't an embarrassment for the first time in 5 years.
Earl Watson is damn near a dream coach. He may not have the reputation of other coaches like Phil or doc but he has the attitude that nba players would kill for. He’s 100% honest like he said he told one the Morris brothers “hopefully we get you traded in the next 2 weeks”... the fuck he is trying to get you to better in your game & prepare you for a possible trade. He understands athletes just like Gill & other NBA players. & from the interviews I’ve seen with nba players most of them if not all ask for that honesty they want to know if there is a possible trade coming or what the actual game plan is for there career at a team they all deserve that peace of mind & earl has no problem giving them that.
He's good as a consultant but he gets outcoached with game plan strategy
@@gunit7047 how is that proven only letting him coach 3 games? Plus every coach has been out coached at some point
@@Middy3 He had a whole season with the Suns then proceeded to lose two games by 50 before he was fired. No coach should be losing by 50 especially in the NBA. He should stick to assisting or try out college before he was made head coach but Sun's organization made the wrong choice of making him one before any experience because they're cheap.
@@gunit7047 all coaches have had shitty seasons but I did say the same thing you said recently as far as ex players being coached. Start small like Highschool or college & then if you do well there the nba will notice
@@gunit7047
Keep that same energy and perspective for Steve Nash. But unlike Earl Watson, Steve Nash inherited a team that is stacked and loaded with all-star level talent.
Earl Watson needs to be coaching now. Houston needs to call him. Clippers needs to call him. New Orleans needs to call him . Indiana need to call him. He will lead a team to greatness. He has incredible knowledge of the game
Former players (especially AA) always get a short leash .. one shot at coaching and that’s it smh
U keep forgetting the obvious he black stop with the denial

First time Gilbert listens loool dude is legit.
Nah he barely talked when his high school coach was on set
He views Earl as a peer. The respect is evident. Not to say Gilbert shows disrespect to other guest, but these two have history dating back to H.S

Why is Earl not a head coach. He needs to be on this show more often.
From what I’m hearing it sounds like he doesn’t listen to the politics of the owners and everything.
I feel like he needs to be an assistant for awhile then a head coach. Those Phoenix teams with him as the head coach were awful.
@@haroldwoodson7747 I disagree. why does he need to be an assistant. All these unathletic never played sports 1 st time coaches getting gigs in the nba. That’s part of the problem lol we can play the sport but other races can coach us. Black owners is Extinct but that’s another subject. But He looks qualified to me
@@hennipapi33 This your opinion bro and I respect it.
@@hennipapi33 he was the Suns coach and they were awful. I'm saying he needs to learn under a capable veteran coach. It's not a black or white thing. Derek Fisher, Magic Johnson, and Jason Kidd were head coaches with no experience along with many others.
I love listening to guards talking about basketball cuz they the most skilled players on the court 💯
Let’s not disregard bigs. Prime Tim Duncan or kg is just as skilled as any guard u can name. Guards are more creative. More skilled is subjective.
@@TheIcemanthomas kg was always a guard who had to play the big man lol and Tim was a dude who picked up the game late and was forced to play big he didn’t get to show off his skills till the latter years of his career
@@SouljaFred not true. Go watch some prime Timmy and watch him work. He was crossing dudes up, his passing was always crisp, his midrange was serviceable, his moves and footwork on that block were exquisite. How long out took him to get their means nothing. And what u perceive of kg also means nothing. We are talking about their skill. Nuance is irrelevant here. None of what u said takes away from their extreme skill level. Kg was a bigman. Yes him and dirk had unique perimeter oriented games at their size, but they were technically still bigs, unlike a Giannis.
That's not true man. Forwards have skill. Hell lot's of Centers have more skill than guards. Look up Hakeem Olajuwon that guy was one of the most skilled players of all time at Center.
Abdul Jabbar very cerebral
"We bout to get to get a top pick"😂
This dude, Earl Watson, is a mastermind. He needs to be coaching somewhere.
Honestly one of my favorite episodes!
Luka is the literal example of a gamer, if you watch his practice, he misses tons of shots, but in game he transform into different kind of beast
Luka also just isn’t the best shooter, but yes in game you can tell he has that switch
If everybody is a boss, then there is nobody working. Pattern players are needed to win championships. For every Kobe there's a Derek Fisher.
A role player is valuable in his own right next to the star!!!
Turn the player twice, do ballers (old or young) even know what he means? So refreshing that real ballers respect the 94 feet.
What does it mean? I'm young and european and english isn't my first language:D

@@jokenword614 I honestly felt like that at first, but as it went on I just kept hearing "I" too much. As if Booker wouldn't have flourished with any other coach that was put in his position. It's not like Book was a 2nd round pick.
@@FuherJoeBeezy - lots of lottery picks don’t end up good, never mind great. Earl obviously feels like Dev having a coach who believed in him helped. DB still had to put in the work though
As a Suns fan, this was a one of the best interview I've seen. Earl was dropping straight knowledge. He was dealt a bad team and was put in an impossible situation in Phoenix. That whole bit about analytics and being forced to do what he didn't wanna do was the proof that management was to blame, not much him being a horrible coach. Analytics is to blame for today's horrible basketball product. Before analytics, players just played ball and the best players truly shined.
Today's Devin Booker won't be as good without Earl getting him started on the path to greatness. Respect this man so much. Don't listen to the experts on the ESPNs, they don't know shit!
That’s amazing to hear that part about Jamal Murray and meditation. It’s a good example of the potential for it and how effective it can be for athletes of all ages.
Earl has to be one of those guys who remembers every play and can name the day and date too.
