This was VERY helpful and easy to do! We got a new cooktop that was already set to natural gas, but we needed propane. The flames did get bigger though, which I'm not sure why that would happen, so I am adjusting the flames. Thanks for this video!

I had an unusual pressure issue, I live in the Caribbean and the Propane here is 70 % Butane, at 10” wc the range top burners were seriously yellow even with the air adjustments wide open, in this case it was a commercial range with a 1/2” regulator inlet outlet bottom and top instead of flat like this one. I flipped the adjuster back to Nat/Gas and added a 5/16 nut which gave the final pressure at 8” wc. Nice blue flames and problem solved.
With the regulator position shown I would suggest a fender washer and a 1/4” nut or just a few fender washers. You want the stacked height to be 1/8” to 1/4 “ less than the height of what the It would be flipped over for Propane.
This should also work at high altitudes to derate for Propane. The other fix of course is smaller orifices, but try to find those in the Caribbean.

Go easy with those pliers. I can see the scuff marks. But it looks pretty simple to do.

Is it set to natural gas by default? Having trouble getting ours to light. Way too many clicks.

Yeah no, my flames got too big and removing the knob to adjust it to the lowest, still made the high flame freakin big. So I had to change regulator back to natural gas.

That's because he is showing people the wrong way to put it in! He converted from propane to natural gas.

Mine was the complete opposite of what you just did. So anyone following this be careful.
