- It's calm after the storm in the second movement of Ludwig van Beethoven's iconic Symphony No. 5 in C Minor, op. 67. The heading "Andante con moto" literally means "at a walking pace, with motion." As rendered by Paavo Järvi, Conductor of the Year 2019, and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, this part of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony is a lyrical moment of rest with a lovely theme that sounds out at the beginning in the violas, cellos and double basses. There are actually two themes. First one is varied, then the other. Enjoy!

Everybody focuses on the first movement when the second movement is as enjoyable too, if not more.
This is just perfection. The orchestra's is playing exquisite and Jaarvi's sense and command of both tempi and sound quality does this music the greatest justice - it sounds fresher and more remarkable than ever

This conductor clearly knows the piece by heart.i dont know of any conductor who could get away with that much enthusiasm in the first few measures.
Then maybe sometimes watch Rozhdestvensky conduct...
@@BytomGirl yes I will watch that one conductor. I'm sure he is truly ingenious, unlike the other conductor an other person crudely wrote.
0:16 that stylistic license or marked on score?
@@jaybonn5973 He is funny, has amazing sense of humor, I love watching him conduct.
The real credit goes to the musicians❤
Never heard a piece that sounded so much like the embodiment of past reflection and nostalgia. Ex-lovers and the adventures you shared, the innocent summers of childhood. A tinge of sadness and regret but also a strong feeling of fondness, all within the first minute.
Thanks for sharing these impressions.
The second movement is so amazing!
They're all!
This part makes me cry since my childhood...the older, the better I understand why, but remains quit incomprehensible
3:59-4:18 the low strings absolutely killed this section! Amazing job!
Dang I thought I'd commented on this

La mejor version para mi..! Excelente Orquesta Hermanos
i can imagine that the storm was over and everything went peaceful.
I played this recording for my father at his death bed. Thank you.
Condolences :( I'm sorry for your loss
I did the same, some 10mins after my mum passed. That was 30yrs ago. Tears sometimes appear when I hear this which they did on this occasion. God's blessings to you.
wow what a testament to the power of this music, at this most emotional of times for you.
Wanderful orchestra ..good rendition... GREAT Symphony
Wunderschöne Klänge...
Sublime perfection!👏🏻👌🏼
splendida direzione. Bravo P. Järvi!
I am new to classic music but after finishing hearing the Proms 2012 Beethoven symphonies with Daniel Barenboim and reading comments and seeing him conduct without sheet music I was totally impressed

Does anyone else here feel a similarity between this movement and Mozart's Symphony 40 2nd Mvt?

everybody looking as if they know what they're doing. fascinating.

Well, thank you for really nice Mozart. When Beethoven's turn is to come?
Are you saying it was interpreted as if it was a Mozart piece, and that a Beethoven piece should not have been interpreted like this? Just trying to understand

Frigging camera man cut out the Cello and Viola solo's at the very beginning. Why so much attention to the Conductor, he's just a guy holding a stick. The Orchestra knows the Tempo, notice they don't look up.
Too fast

Just a little bit too fast.

Leider kein Vergleich zu den Berliner Philharmonikern unter Karajan.
Was gefällt Ihnen am Dirigat Karajans besser?
@@DWClassicalMusic
I am personally noob when it comes to classical music but I for one find Karajan's to be much more evocative. Järvi is a genius no doubt about that and some of the detours/changes he takes from the original are fantastic and fun to listen to but Karajan's remains a classic

Muss man immer alles vergleichen?
@@hanswurst6873 Der Tag nimmt unerwartete Wendungen, wenn man ohne Vorahnung bei Klassik-Musik landet und dennoch Hans Wurst zustimmt
Non mi entusiasma...
Ok.
