Denmark has been dominant in Badminton since ages ago though (Peter Gade, Larsen, Frost etc.). They've been the most dominant European country, but have produced many top 10s and title winners at international level as well. It's nothing new for a Danish player to be among the best in the tour.

Very impressive shots! What is even more impressive, is, that this wasn't even his final form. The Axelsen from 2021 onwards moved much, much better because his upper body got way more strength and stability after he lost his boyish lanky form and then he had much better balance on the court.

It's quite frankly outrageous how Viktor makes the inside-out dropshot look so easy in the last rally. I find it to be one of the most difficult shots in badminton and he just plays it with perfection. Sheer talent. 👌🏻👏🏻

+Genya Arikado you should look at his win-lose record with lcw, ld and chenlong, which are 0-9, 2-2, and 1-7, respectively. Not to mention ld plays on a much higher level in Olympics than the super series.

personally, i like vittinghus better. both axelsen and vittinghus are young, yet axelsen adopted the style of much older players, going into long rallies instead of trying to create winners himself. peter gade at one point endorsed axelsen, but considering how vittinghus goes for winners himself (much like peter gade) i wonder why he did that. axelsen was much younger though at that time. i believe 21 point system made doubles much more exhilarating, and singles more boring, because everyone plays safe in singles. good, not dramatic.
I can't see how you can say that Vittinghus is still young. He's already 30, even Jorgensen is younger than him.
3x21 system has made singles badminton much better than the 3x15 system. I don't mind Axelsen's defensive/retriever game. I find it much better to watch personally.
