I used to live in lewes, and I would drive to teen challenge at least once a month. The store is very clean and prices are reasonable. Never left empty handed. Enjoy 😂
Love Lewes! Haven't been there in years.
The team challenge and Louis is great. I love going there 😊
I would have used the buggy seat as a riser on a shelf. I have a small Amish buggy and the cast iron family. It would have looked wonderful on that riser. Sometimes you don’t know what you’re looking for until you see it. I love to go Pearl Diving. Most of my favorite things have come from antique stores or estate sales. We don’t have many thrift stores in Dallas. Shopping has always been a sport here but mostly for new things. I think the younger generation are shopping at thrift stores. They want to keep items out of the landfills. They also want something unique and affordable. My daughter and her husband planned on decorating their house in MCM. They started but then needed a larger house. So they bought another house, haven’t sold the first one and are having the new house remodeled before they move in. They have really high paying jobs. The new house will be decorated in traditional furniture as it’s too expensive and time consuming to try for MCM. I’m glad because I have many things I can give them to decorate with. It also will help me get rid of things. I’m 69 and it’s time to lighten the load.
Yes! LOVE buying lamps.
They're the best!
You definitely should have bought the rug!!
I think so too! I was watcing the video back and I'm having buyers remorse!!
Y the rug would have been worth it
I love going thrift shopping with you 😊
Thank you! It's always fun to see what other get!
Cindy, The “handleless measuring cup” is actually a beater jar. The metal lid has an egg beater/whisk attached. They are useful. Occasionally you can find just the beater lid but note that there are different sizes!
Omgoodness, I had no idea! This is the first time I have seen one like this. I have a couple of small, 1-cup size measuring cups and a couple of them have the beater. this one is a little different with slanted sides. It's one of my fave measuring cups now!
Nice finds. Love your enthusiasm.😊
Thank you 😁 I really enjoy thrifting!
Love lamps, and I'm The Original basket lady. I love floor lamps.
Baskets are so good to have! Great for storage and decorating :)
I clean this type of rug all day
I should have gotten that rug!! Agh! Major buyers remorse!
I have found glass vases that have a large mouth and get skinnier on bottom and usually flat. I turned it over, glued a glass lid from a broken sugar bowl and used a beautiful plate for base. It really came out cute as a cloche. I find wine glasses even turned upside down still look like a wine glass, lol. That grill is not a grill. They use them in high end restaurants and usually put chateau brieand (cant spell, a delicious meat, lol) and mashed potatoes in them to keep warm and go from table to table to serve.
Thanks for the info about the 'grill.' I knew it couldn't be one! It was gorgeous to look at and wonder 😊 Thanks for the idea about the cloche. I'm going to keep looking! 😊
I really love chairs.
Me too! I'm a chair fanatic🤣
The Shirts looked Very Nice on you...
Thank you the long one was a little weird so I didn’t get it. But I love the short sleeve dark blue one.😊
I'd put my new record player in the grill cabinet. It would make it unique 😊
That would be cool! 😊
It’s a shame they didn’t have another wicker chair! Loved it! Also you could’ve had the carpet cleaned, it was gorgeous!
I agree about the chair. It was so pretty! And the rug - I should have grabbed it!
Yes nice toapariry
It would have been a good makeover project!
Re: rug in bridgeville For that price I would have taken it to brasures to be professionally cleaned. Nice rug
That’s a great idea. Thanks for sharing 😊
Yes, you should’ve got the rug I watched a couple find them on the side of the road. They took them to the car. wash the scrubbed with the brush and rinse them out and used to board beautiful beautiful, beautiful rugs.
Thanks for the tip! Next time I will grab the rug so I don't have regrets like I do now!
I like the rug too, Think it had a good price!
Agh! I’m having regrets about not getting the rug!😆
This is the first video I’ve come across and am impressed. You have a new subscriber ❤
Wow, thank you! I'm so glad to have you subscribe and I hope to continue to bring more thrift hauls and makeovers!
Yes, the good will in my town in Tennessee is very expensive.
I’m sorry to hear that prices are getting so high 😔
I saw another CZcamsr take the rugs to a car wash and clean them that way. 😊
Omgoodness, what a great idea!! I need to get the next rug I find and try that method. Keep watching and hopefully I will find one to take to the car wash!😊
New to your channel. Loved watching you thrift. We live in Lancaster but vacation in Delaware. Been to most of the thrift stores you showed except teen challenge. I’ll have to try that one in June. Looking forward to your next video
Delaware is a great place to vacation! We love it here! You will enjoy Teen Challenge Thrift Store!
The green wood thing would’ve made a good stand for like small plants or maybe glass jars with pens and stationery supplies.
That’s a great idea to use it as a plant stand. Thanks for sharing 😊
Rugs can be cleaned.
Yes! I should have grabbed it!
I have a neighbor who took his area rug outside hung it over a ladder and actually pressure washed it. They may have worked for that rug, but I think I’d try a regular carpet cleaner on it first.
Pressure washing is a great idea! I regret that I didn't get that rug!
I have used a pressure washer and washed things on the driveway. Better than nothing.
Omg, love the child’s rocker, adorable.
Wasn't it so sweet?? I loved it!
Our Salvation Army store closed. We have Goodwill (with high prices) and St. Vincent DePaul (very good prices). I have a corner chair sitting in the garage. Thinking about using it in the garden.
Love the idea of using your corner chair in the garden! I’m going to look for one and do the same😊
The wooden bench looks perfect for small plants or perhaps to put condiments on when you and your hubby eat outside!
Omgoodness, it would have been perfect for our outdoor dining!🥰
I have a similar little bench…. I use it for a small bookshelf. It looks darling with seasonal books on my cabinet ❤️
That's a great idea!😊
Wonderful video! Totally unrelated but you look so much like the actress Melissa McBride it’s wild!
Wow, thank you!😊
Beautiful plate set my style ! Also the Salvation Army here in Bakersfield CA also have been bare a& prices to even the Goodwillls ridiculous! I been going to the Goodwill Outlet Bins just love it so much fun!
And BELIVE me I buy a lot and pay very little my new Happy Place but only problem is we have to drive 2 hrs away to Ventura CA, & to San Luis Obispo CA 3 hrs away 😢 ! But when we do go I do shop until I drop lol 😅❤
You are dedicated! That's a long drive. Our Goodwill bins is about one hour away. I need to go again - they are so much fun!
Lots of fun finds! Thank you!
You are so welcome!🤗
You are so welcome!🤗
Cool finds!! Good values too.
Thanks 👍
Please do a thrifted bathroom upgrade.I live in a older remodeled mobile home and would love some help styling it
That’s a great idea! I will try to work that in!
Prices are up in all the thrift stores I go too. Goodwill, Salvation Army, St Vincent De Paul. I only buy on discount days. Crazy prices.
I might have to do the same - our Goodwill discount days (for senior citizens like me!) are Wednesdays. I have an alarm set! 🤣
What a haul you got with such great deals! Looking forward to how the stool comes out. Love the handleless measuring glass cup! I saw one years ago at an auction, but I didn’t get it-ugh! The salad plates are beautiful!
Thanks Patti! The stool is going to come in handy with my newish craft table. It's the perfect height!
You could have gotten that small bench and then cut down the seat to use in your silver holder for a riser, unless it was too thick. Check out the scrap/damaged wood sections at your local lowes or home depot for wood for your risers; you'll never know what you might find. Sorry it's been a while since I've watched or commented. I've not been well, butvam on the mend.
That’s a great idea about finding damaged wood at Home Depot or Lowe’s. I’ll keep that in mind. I hope you feel better Karen 🥰
Wow Cindy, you hit the jackpot on this shopping excursion (+ your visit to Virginia)! To start with the things you didn't buy....I loved the wicker chair and child's rocker, but like you said, how many chairs can one possibly have! Now on to your purchases.....I have Ironstone envy! It's next to impossible to find Ironstone in my area, even at the Antique stores, and for you to find all of those amazing pieces is incredible! And what a score on all those wooden hangers! They are the best for hanging your clothes! Lastly, the shelf brackets are beautiful! It always pays to keep an eye out in the restroom 'cause you never know what's laying around in there that the store wants to get rid of! 🙂♥
Thanks Lori! It was a great day to go thrifting. That's too bad about your ironstone problem. I'm not sure why I see it so often and for such a good price. But I'm glad I do! Sorry you can't get your hands on some! Have a great day and thanks for watching!🥰
Rugs can be washed. Lay it out on a patio or driveway and use Dawn or a rug cleaning soap. Spray off with a hose. It's worth the effort.
I’m going to try this the next time I see a rug I want! 😊 Thanks!
Same in Lauren’s, SC. Also no organization and dirty.
That's terrible! Our Goodwill is organized so I am glad for that!
Wish we had one like yours.
Enjoyed your video. Just had a hard time with the in and out blurring throughout. 😊
Sorry about the blurring throughout the video! I’m glad you enjoyed the video 😊
I love the floor lamps. I only have one, I think I’ll go to the Good Will and check it out.
I hope you find some good deals!😊
You would fit in so well with me and my girlfriend we hit all the 2nd hand store every week so much fun, n.c doesn't have as many as washintin and idaho did but still fun we find lots of both things you were looking for here.
Thrifting with friends or a sister is the best!! 🥰 Enjoy your time with her!
That wicker woven chair would’ve went home with me. It’s perfect for a bare corner. 9:49 we have a store called Safe Harbor that helps women through recovery. Love it. ❤ 18:52 I’ve been seeing pears lately too.
I loved the chair too! Safe Harbor sounds like a great organization 😊
Yes I think I would have gotten the wooden riser
I’m regretting that I didn’t get it. Everyone here has so many good ideas!
Que bien te queda esa blusita, yo si me la llevaba, te queda super.
So much I love it 😊
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Hi Cindy I'm your new subscriber I enjoy your video of going to different Goodwills and thrift shops that little wooden bench that you saw it would have been good to put your computer and your keyboard underneath or just use it in your kitchen to give you more space on your counter the possibilities are endless
Great idea! Thanks so much for sharing and watching 😊
I love the teen challenge thrift store, they have tons of stuff, and it's a nice large location. (I live in DE)
I would have made a bird feeder out lf that bench.
I love your idea for that little bench! Thanks for sharing 😊
I’ve been to Teen Challenge many times♥️
It’s an awesome store!
Wow your Goodwill has great prices. My local one is about three times those amounts. We are in a rural area. In other towns 30 minutes away the prices are less. I'm not sure why ours charges so much. Used to love shopping there for deals. Great haul.
It was a good day of Thrifting!
I came upon your thrift store video for the first time. It was enjoyable and all your lovely finds. Nice to hear how you will use these items.
Do you ever shop for necklaces or earings?
Thank you so much! I don’t wear a lot of jewelry so I’m not usually looking for it. Although I have seen many up cyclers using jewelry on their projects. Do you shop for jewelry when you are Thrifting?
@@ReinventedDelaware
Yes, I especially look for dangling clip-on earings. I am a senior citizen and I go to thrift stores on buses as I don't have a car. I sometimes buy clothes for myself too. I am not a reseller, I just buy small items for myself or for a gift for a friend. Sometimes I will buy a few CD'S or a DVD and a book but can't carry too much with me on the buses and then walk home from bus stop. I have no one to drive me to the thrift stores but I do enjoy going to these stores.
I also noticed that the prices at Goodwill have been going up and not finding too many items
It’s terrible! 😞
Both those ironstone platters would have come home with me.
I loved the larger iron stone platter for $5.99 but I have so many of them. That’s why I passed it by 😊
@@ReinventedDelaware I hang them on the wall, stack them and stand them in vignettes.
Just cleared put my kids old toys, and found some lovely stuff that is almost new and is worth money (legos, robots, remote control dinosaur....). Which of these stores is best for quality kids stuff? Some places in Rehobeth told me they don't take some of these. Guess they don't sell. I'm thinking great for a bored kid for a family on vacation.
One of my daughters shops for kids toys at her Goodwill and also her disabled American veterans thrift store. She lives in Virginia. I don’t know if we have a DAV in Delaware but you could try Goodwill. Hope that helps.
Oh you found beautiful items. I’d love to find a linen sq table cloth. I have one for my bathroom window, that she had done blue cross stitch on, for a curtain.
I love that idea! I washed it today so I could get it ready for a makeover, but I might have changed my mind about how I planned on using it. It is in such good shape - no stains!
@@ReinventedDelaware that’s fantastic. I did mine in kinda triangle shape with a corner coming to a point bottom center did a pleat at the top in the middle to take material. So there’s a corner that comes around the curve of the rod on each side. It’s card table size so it works well on my small window and it hangs over the rod with a few straight pins in the back. I’m sure you will do a much better way of doing it. Sweet dreams.
@@margaretdillinger5090 Thanks for the idea!
Think the container with measurements on the inside and without a handle had a beater with a metal lid attached
I think you might be right😊
Syroco (sp) was sold by Home Interiors
Thanks so much for the info! I had no idea😊
I thought you were in Bridgeville. Ive been to that Goodwill. I’m from South Carolina but my best friend lives Delmar and when I go visit we always go to Teen Challenge. I have found some amazing things there.
That's awesome! They really have some unique items at Teen Challenge!
Foot warmer
Definiyely not a grill. I agree its an old warmer.
Possibly a Bain Marie type food warmer….???
My thrift stores are very high in prices. Can buy new cheaper some times.
Very true! It's so sad that the prices have gotten so high!
Will the bamboo cutting board from Dollar Tree work on the silver piece?
I will have to go look at one! I never thought of that😊 Thanks!
Buy the rug.
I should’ve bought that rug!Agh!
For $12 ? Yes, you should have. Cleaning cost verses buying brand new......
Agreed! I regret I didn't get it!
Just found your channel. I live in Dover. I haven't made it to the Teen Challenge yet. I'll have to check it out the next time I'm Bridgeville way.
I help my friend out in her store, Granny's Attic in Felton (closer to Woodside)
I haven't been to that Salvation Army for a couple years. I used to leave with quite a bit. But it looks like the prices have really gone up.
I've found God's Way to be expensive.
God's Way has gotten expensive over the years but I still try to check them out when I can. Thanks for the tip about Granny's Attic! I will try to make it over there on my next thrift shopping day!
I agree with you about MCM. It is very pricey because it is trendy. I'm sure you are excited about giving your pieces to your daughter! You will still be able to enjoy them but in someone elses home! 😊 Thanks for watching!
