Probably the most underrated song in musical theatre
One of the best songs ever written 💜
When I saw this show in June, it was a 19th birthday present from my partner. The first partner I've ever had who truly cares about me and doesn't abuse me.
I had a really tough start in my life with rough, irresponsible father figures drifting, dying, destroying my mother and I; these experiences carried through my life to this very day. Seeing this show -- B A W L I N G my heart out during Not My Father's Son -- was the only cathartic release I've had in my life of this ache I've held.
Putting myself in thigh high red boots every morning mentally is *hard*, it takes everything I have to mask my insecurity and show the world that I'm thriving, not just surviving. Yet, I do it. I find the energy somehow to make it through. This show put such a good perspective in my mind that I use to get me through this shit life, and I am so grateful to Kinky Boots.
Anyway, in no more words, this song is... excellent.

Love the new video, I got to hear the song yesterday but I couldn't guess what the video was going to be. Cindy did a great job directing, I love hearing these guys sing together. I have been wishing for them to sing something that wasn't Lola and Charlie and was a real duet. It's beautifully done, Bravo Billy and Stark, you did an amazing job.

Veronika Janotová this version was not Charlie and Lola its Billy and Stark so some of the lines that are specific to the show are gone. The line I missed was the last one, " We're the same Charlie boy you and me "

I just wish that they left the Trump political stance out of it. Hillary was against gay marriage until 2013, she changed her stance for votes, she's not a true ally
People's views can evolve. If it is a step in the right direction, who are we to judge what brought about the change? At least she changed her stance and attempted put it to work. Trump just held the rainbow flag upside-down one time during his campaign and then went on to give national stage on several occasions to anti-gay figures, attempted to ban trans individuals from the military, and threw support to employers who want to fire people based on their sexual orientation. Your speculation that Hillary's change of heart was "for votes" is moot.
Jadugara Hillary only changed her stance a few years ago in the lead up to an election. Bernie Sanders has been discussing it since the 80s. That's what happens when you have a moral backbone.
Hillary claims she's in favour of gay rights yet accepted millions of dollars from the elities of Saudi Arabia who support the murder of gays.
I'm not a Trump supporter. How does bringing up Trump refute tge fact that Hillary flip flopped for political gain? Of course it matters why someone supports a cause. You want a candidate you can trust. I view them both as calculated clowns
If you're not a Trump supporter, why do you have a problem with an anti-trump poster in the background of a music video? Even though it was used by democrats during the campaign (for both Hillary and Bernie, btw), "Love Trumps Hate" has become more than that, and is now just a generalized anti-trump/pro-love slogan meaning love will always win over hate.

Hollywood is saturated with bitter, tribal Trump opposers who hypocritically ignore Hillary's shady history with gay rights due to identity politics. They'll tear down Trump and brusj all of Hillary's problems under the rug. If they fairly judged both, I wouldn't have a problem. But they dont. I've been a fan of Lauper's music for years and still enjoy listening to much of her work. However, she like much of the regressive left, has become deluded. I'm free to comment on any video I like, this isn't North Korea
