The majority of people who forget their children in cars are unfortunately just doing what all of us do by nature. If you’ve ever gotten in your car and driven the same route somewhere time and time again, your brain will go on a kind of autopilot. This happens to literally EVERYONE and it just how the brain functions. The times people forget their children are times when they are in this autopilot mode, doing their same old routine, but they have the rare situation of having their child in the car at that time. It’s the same reason you would run a stop sign if a new one suddenly appeared on your usual everyday route. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t drive. Some children are quiet, and therefore would be easily forgotten in a situation where a person is accustomed to doing things in the same way every day. Basically, people are not leaving their children in cars because they are careless or bad parents. That is why as a safety precaution parents are encouraged to always put their children’s items in the front seat with them as a visual cue.

You are confusing World with USA. Most of those cars wouldn't be even in Top 30 of safest cars in the World. Some even in Top 50.
I think it is mind blowing in so many of these test even the windshield survives. They all need to continue to focus on pedestrian safety as well. That is just as important
