Hey, how ya doin’! I hope you’re doing well. This was such a fun love letter to The Batman, to Superman, to The Batman and Superman relationship. How are we feeling about the death of the DCU, we could figure out How To Save The DC Cinematic Universe, so instead they got James Gunn to start fresh, to kill the DCEU. I love all the ideas Gunn has given us, David Corenswet Superman seems like peak casting for Superman: Legacy. My only problem, The Batman Should be The First DCU Movie, The Batman Should Have Been the First DCU Movie. This might be my favorite HiTop Films Batman Video Essay, HiTop Superman Video Essay, HackTop Films DCU Video Essay. You won’t find a a better Batman Universe, then what Matt Reeves is doing with the character. I’m worried about Andy Muschietti Batman, the Brave and The Bold. Robert Pattinson is the perfect Batman if you ask me. What do you think? Can 2 Batmen compete for that spot in the dark? Let me know down in the comments.

Beautiful video
In 1990, after finishing with the filming of Darkman, Raimi pitched, along with Marvel Comics writer Stan Lee, the concept of a Thor feature film to 20th Century Fox. However, they didn't understand Raimi's and Lee's idea and the project was abandoned.
Now it'll be a golden opportunity for James Gunn to hire Raimi for a project like Constantine to explore the dark-gritty, ethical and mythical sides of DCU ❤🔥.
Have you ever seen the DCAMU? It feels like a comic turned into animation and I would love to hear your thoughts on it
@@disneyfox5726 well now I could probably say that Fox had regretted rejecting this project and that too after the release of Raimi's Spider-Man Trilogy 💥
“I am all for a bat family, but I want to see the formation of that, not just the aftermath” This hits different. I hope we actually get to see this
The fact they are starting with Damian Robin and Batman is already proof that they arent and it really pisses me off
like start with a Dick Grayson Robin, not Damian Wayne, he should come much much later
Same.
@@SpinoSam- because they are already making the same mistake as last time.
You can’t just say “here you go”.
Even with all of us comic fans knowing the story already, you SHOW us what this world is. You don’t Tell us.
BUILD this world. EARN these stories.
And our movie-going money.
@@SpinoSam yeah
Man I wish. I respect Reeves' choice to make it a seperate thing and Robert doesn't really want to be tied down to a cinematic universe as expansive as the DCU.
But man the Batman feels like an amazing start-off point to a universe in need of heroes that are hopeful.
yeah esspecially since in the end of the movie batman realizes he can give hope to the people of gotham and not just terrify the criminals
Idk I like Batman separate from the rest, in DC as a whole a more Gotham based Batman has always felt like a different character to me than Justice League bats. Man can fight someone like Darkseid but then has trouble with a more toned down Riddler?
We already did that it didnt work
I wonder if it's up to Robert, too
@@moneykenny119Batman villains give Batman trouble because they are specifically antithetical to his nature. Wonder Woman wouldn't struggle against Poison Ivy or Riddler.
Actually there is a comic where Alfred's car broke down and he just so happened to be within vicinity of the Kent farm. Young Clark sees Bruce in the car and asks him if he wants to play ball with him, much like the story you presented. However, Alfred encourages Bruce to go play with him and the two have the time of their lives. Later in the story, it is revealed that Alfred could've fixed the car immediately, but he hadn't seen Bruce so happy that he decided to not repair his car just yet.
That was a sweet story
Batman / Superman Worlds Finest from New 52... It's actually from Earth 2, but in my headcanon it happened in every universe 😅
lol and young bruce basically immediately finds out Clark has super powers in the funniest way.
Yeah that one was super silly. Car breaks down in Kansas 1.5K miles away from NY/NJ where Gotham is located. Made no sense.
@@Kynreevez I think it's more like Oakland/San Francisco in this comic. Some have Gotham and Metropolis like across the bay, or another one was I think 3 hours away. But yeah you are right if you base it on "canon" or whatever the hell they decide in doing these days lol.
I’ve been saying this for a while now man. People forget Batman’s most grounded stories in the comics doesn’t change the fact that other heroes pre exist in that universe with him, they just don’t get involved with his separate gotham activities
Even though this isnt happening, I really hope James Gunn at least makes Batman not too much older from Superman
He will likely have 10 years over him. At this point he has a Damian Robin. My guess is Batman will be around 37-40 whereas Superman will be around 26-30
He said Superman is gonna be near David cornswet so 30-32 and Batman 36-40
@@TheRealHerbaSchmurba Thats so strange to me, because them being the same age or around the same age is a big deal for me personally
I hope Jensen Ackles becomes the DCU Batman. He would fit perfectly.
He said they will make him just a bit older😂
I’ve always thought this. What makes shared universes awesome is the ability to have many different types of tones and styles exhibiting the same shared world. Batman is versatile enough as a character to work with the justice league and then go back to Gotham city and have gritty and grounded story. Seeing Batman and Superman as equals figuring things out together would be magnificent
How about a different type of tone that doesn't SUCK?
@@SuperOmnicronsj44 which tone sucks
I don’t see why Reeves can’t oversee the Batverse within the DCU for Gunn and then whenever characters from Gotham cross over with the rest of the DCU, he can be consulted as Gunn was for the guardians in infinity war, end game and Thor
Exactly the perfect idea that we will never see.
COLLABORATION IS KEY
eh, i dont think Gunn wants to hassle himself with that after marvel forgot that starlord lost his mask and rocket boots in guardians 2 only for them to appear again in the infinity war/endgame story.
@@HiTopFilmsSo, have you changed your mind about this? I think The Batman Matt Reeves Universe will be better if it is isolated, just like the past triology. Think with me, we already have few hero films that follow this shared universe formula, like MCU and some other bizarre films, The Batman is a return to the classic style of the 2000s Movies, it's refreshing. The isolated and shared universe should not be a rule of plot quality, the MCU is connected and has many problems. I believe it is better to see a Batman "made" for the DC shared universe, different from what Snyder's Batman was, and in fact a fantasy and great Batman, exploring other facets of the character, without needing to explore the origin of. I know it's annoying not to see everything starting, like it was in the MCU, but that's it, business issues, they have to react quickly with the DCU. The focus of the DCU will not be just on Batman or Superman, but the entire narrative behind, and several other possible characters, Batman cannot be the protagonist alone in this universe, so it is necessary to see a Batman that works in this universe.
I’ve been saying this since the announcement of a new Batman. I think seeing all of these DC movies being told in different tones and scales is brilliant. The best way to separate the DCU from the MCU.
It's like the Daredevil series, which is meant to be part of the MCU officially, but fans often say it isn't because the tone is dark and mature. The darker tone actually makes the MCU seem more interesting because it diversifies it.
Exactly. DC have tried to emulate Marvels formula before and it didn't go too well. They're better off taking their own approach. Plus MCU fatigue is starting to set in, so the different approach will keep DC from feeling stale. Not to mention, people like different things. Plenty of fans want the more comic accurate fanciful depiction of Batman, but you also can't deny the popularity of the grittier version of Batman in a less fanciful world. So having 2 separately distinct depictions to fill both those roles isn't a bad thing for Batman fans.
Hey it’s my favorite pretentious superhero CZcamsr
And I watch his uploads every time
he is the one who cooks
Pretentiously poetic punk parading his prick around the platform to push his idea of what it means to be not just powerful but superpowerful.
Wouldn't have it any other way.
i mean we literally come here for it
it amazes me that to this day, we do not have a movie about Bruce and Clark's brotherly bond. I feel this is what the new dcu desperately needs. The balance between Bruce's dark world, and Clark's world of light and hope.
I know right!? Part of what makes the Justice League formation special is Batman and Superman. Two people with completely different ideologies, two different experiences who respect each other despite how different they are. Both praise one another, believing the other has qualities that the other believes they lack. It's a beautiful friendship to see.
We could of had this, but they keep choosing to make things like Black Adam or back in 2016’s Suicide Squad lol
THE BATMAN 2 is gonna shit on the DCU
Yea, you could blame that on Zack Snyder. He made his superman the same as his batman
It's because you always have to make them fight
It's an absolute shame we haven't seen the true friendship of Bruce and Clark on the big screen yet. It's one of my favorite relationships in all of comics.
well blame snyder for killing supes in his 2nd appeared movie, stupid vision no wonder DCEU failed

You’ve just said everything I’ve been thinking ever since it was announced that Pattinson wouldn’t join the ranks of the Justice League in this new DCU Gunnverse and I cannot even explain how much this low key upsets me. Granted, if Reaves and Pattinson don’t really wanna be tied down to something like that, that’s totally understandable. It’ll absolutely take a while before we even see the potential of the DC Cinematic Universe start to form, but the fact that it’s not starting with Battinson and instead we’re getting yet another Batman is, like you said, nothing but missed potential.
Been saying this too, I think it could work, all though I'm equally happy for Reeves to do his own thing as well.
I’d prefer if they waited until after The Batman 3 comes out to bring Batman into the DCU, regardless of whether or not they reboot the character. But yeah, it should be up to Reeves and Pattinson.
I'm also very happy it's separate. It's actually a breath of fresh air.
Bro u make the best fan fics I swr
I think the main thing is that James Gunn’s style, tone, and world that he’s building are COMPLETELY different from the vision that Reeves set in The Batman.
Pattinson’s Batman could fit super well next to a Superman or a JL, but I think Reeves would have to be in Gunn’s position as the architect for it to work.
Or reaves and Gunn can work together as equals so that different tones can exist simultaneously
@@wiggy009 they could do that. But I think that Gunn would have to severely alter his plans for that to work. Gunn is creating a world where superheroes have always existed and their plentiful, plus weird cartoony characters like Batmite exist. I don’t think any of that jives well with the tone or story that Reeves has set up.
@@wiggy009 Not really, compromising each other's vision sounds awful.
@@eldritchpumpkinghost2968he literally just said having two different tones which is exactly what this CZcamsr is saying. They’re different characters that’s who they are they’re not like he said marvels New York City
People seem to forget The Batman was some sort of a miracle that came out by complete accident, after Ben Affleck quit the direction, then quit the role, and then Matt Reeves decided to not use his script set in the DCEU...the reason why The Batman works so well is because is not trying to fit in a shared universe, and this was by complete accident...you can already see Warner trying to make The Batman have its own shared universe, because you know, money, and while I'm excited for The Penguin, I think this is also a mistake...the genre is in such a poor state, the few good things we get are by accident.
Agreed. It annoys me to no end that Batman is typically excluded, or the main connected universe gets a lesser Batman with no movie of his own
The DCU Batman is getting his own movie.

Bruce's very human physiology and his very inhuman personality contrasts extremely well with Clark's very inhuman physiology and his very human personality. Developing that friendship makes for sweet poetic irony.
Imagine if Robert Downey Jr's Iron-Man was taking place in a standalone universe and Tom Cruise got to play the main Iron-Man in the MCU. That's literally what they're doing with Robert Pattinson's Batman.
Robert Downey Jr's iron man also kinda felt grounded for the most part except nanotech armour, comic faithful iron man has extremis power and is putting armour in his bones.
💯
@@kitgo596The first Iron Man felt so much more grounded than anything we got later
@@Johnnysmithy24 they still made him grounded in mcu like i said tony in the comics becomes like a superhuman with extremis serum on top of having an armour and his bleeding edge armour was like magic and was stored in his bones, while mcu make all that grounded with tony putting chips in his body to call his armour pieces and a nanotech Armor which is made up of nano particles inside his arc reactor that is still very much more believable than what comics did with iron man.
@@Johnnysmithy24Yeah. That’s the point though. Start grounded, then add Norse Gods, then add aliens, then add magic. It’s like that for a reason.
Ngl ive been dreaming about this since Pattinson's Batman first came out. I had invisioned a world where we could soft reboot DC with Pattinson and Corenswet as we slowly and peaceful left the DCEU
This is an incredible take. A beautiful take and one I whole heartedly agree with, even if it is controversial.
The broken, scarred man that is Matt Reeves Batman would blend so well with a universe that has a hopeful optimistic, selfless superman.
The differences between Bruce and Clark is what makes the dynamic so incredible, two heroes juxtaposing each other, learning from each other and growing together in-spite of their differences.
Once again Hitop you have inspired me with your work, the way you put your love for these characters to words is beautiful.

I'm more upset how Joker 2019 and The Batman 2022 don't connect either. They fit each other perfectly from their gritty tones and atmospheres to their "weird" depictions of the characters.
I agree. Their worlds actually fit a lot. They could have took that Bruce Wayne scene out and saved it. I already thought the Bruce Wayne cameo was too muchz
I think they still technically could cuz the joker takes place way before and the new joker could be a copy cat or whatever but idk
That doesn't make sense. In Joker 2019, Joker is a middle aged dude with a 8 year old Bruce. The Batman has both Bruce and Joker being around the same age.
@@sup3414it’s theorized that pheonix’s joker may have just been an inspiration for the actual joker so they could still make it work
Ew no.
I’d prefer Pattinson to stay in his own universe. Though I must admit that him and Corenswet would look good together
I agree 100%. But the look of them is just perfect.
Yea I'm not sure why people think The Batman belongs in the DCU. It's way too grounded and dark and wouldn't mesh with actual flying superheroes and whatnot. I also think The Batman is overrated. The Riddler felt pretty lame to me and they changed him too much to even feel like a real Batman villain. The movie felt more like someone dressed up as batman to hunt down a random serial killer. I say dressed up because we just didn't get that many batman moments. The only one that comes to mind is him flying across buildings. None of the cool grappling hook, smoke bombs, ninja shit. I know he's supposed to be new and hasn't figured it all out yet, but it's still a batman movie at the end of the day and I feel like Matt Reeves was scared of the source material.
@@RealEllenDeGeneresI don't get what's the problem in that? In animated universe Batman is still a normal guy with normal villains but also has teamed up with supes and has fought many Super villains so it's not something unusual.
@@RealEllenDeGeneresbruh.
I’m not gonna lie, I think as Battinson’s tech and character evolve, he’ll be more like the comics for sure. In the next film I expect a functioning cape glide and Arkham reminiscent gadgets if not in progress
I absolutely agree. It’s very similar to RDJ’s iron man. In the first movie he could barely fly and could only fly up to a certain altitude. Iron man 2 he’s equipping his suits via briefcase on the fly.
@@jeyrey9835 yeah it could be like how tony stark evolved in the mcu from a clunky suit all the way to nano tech suit
Alright this is my favorite video of yours by a lot. That part at the end gave me serious chills. I want this Batman and this Superman to grow as heroes, to build a Justice League, to fight - and lose - together. From scratch. I want to see the Bat-family be formed in live action. In real time. I want that juxtaposition of just a man fighting alongside a set of very human gods for the sake of not just the world: but for himself and the ones he left behind. The ones who can still save him. The ones he wants to save even as they try evermore to hurt him. I just wish they’d take their time and start from the beginning. Yes: have a Damien Wayne! Absolutely get a Jason Todd! A live action Red Hood would be sick: especially in a world with a Superman and a Wonder Woman, and so on. It would be a shame to start with a Batman that’s already been through everything when it would be so much more impactful to live through it with him, with a Bruce that has a lot to work through: too many people to save and not enough time to help himself. It’s just too bad that we have one right there - a masterfully portrayed version of the character - but one that will surely be left alone, without a Justice League to ever grow with him.
Gunns whole vision is based on giving directors the ability to make their own movies, and having two batmen at once is a bad idea, so I definitely agree
Hey man, I just wanted to say I fucking love your videos. You've inspired me so much to make my own content. And although none is made (yet) I still aspire to make something as high quality and passion filled as your vids. You've meant a lot to me as a channel while I grew up. Keep doing what you do, you're appreciated more than you can imagine.
Thank you so much for the kind words.
Never stop believing that you can create. I promise. It’s worth it.
They could have a 31 year old Clark who has been Superman for 6-7 years and a 38 year old Bruce who has been Batman for 14 years
God did I love 2005. That was the year I learned what Star Wars was since it was when Revenge of the Sith came out.
I feel like james gunn needs to see this video cause your explanation for everything is very good and the passion oozed out while talking about this. I honestly didnt realize how much i would prefer this too. I love gunn and his movies hes done and really feel like this would be the golden ticket to having a long term world to build these chracters and have them grow. I just really want to be able to see batman grow find robins watch them become their own heroes and help with the league.
Fact we need James and Matt to see this video
On one hand you have a brilliant filmmaker who doesn’t compromise his integrity and artistic vision. On another hand you got a brilliant filmmaker who’s been hired for his prowess with the genre and one job that is creating a cohesive cinematic universe. I don’t see a world where both can coexist because the studios are expecting a certain look and a certain feel but gosh darn it I want each of them cinematographers to be able to express themselves fully with having to freaking compromise.
Word.
Why not let Reeves make his movies and in the meanwhile make other solo movies such as Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern etc. Once Reeves is done, you can convinve Patttinson to stay and make a cinematic universe. Isn't this what mcu did?
The new DC cinematic Universe Ideas:
Superman (Campy and Inspirational)
Batman (Dark and Detective)
Green Lantern (Sci-Fi and Space Adventure)
Flash (Time Travel and Fast Paced)
Martian Manhunter
(Learning about the new world aka Earth)
Teen Titans (Coming of Age)
Stephanie Brown (Drama)
Blue Beetle and Booster Gold
(Buddy Cop Comedy Movie)
Green Arrow (comedy-drama)
The New gods TV series with Mister Miracle (Romance, Tragedy, and the Mythic)
Justice League Dark (Fantasy and Horror)
Oh And finally Batman Beyond with Dylan O’Brian as Terry Mcginis and Josh Keaton as old Bruce Wayne. Which also take place as the exact same universe when Josh Keaton was Batman.
We need all of THIS in the New DC Cinematic Universe!
That you made this video in 21:9 helped so much to envision how it could look if these characters would actually share the screen in the cinema.
Just goes to show how well organized and structured MCU was when they started with Iron Man. Just so disappointing that DCU can’t even manage to do the basics of making good solo films first then putting them together.
Totally agree with your points in this video. Still hope both universes don’t bring each other down and are able to coexist.
Imagine a DC cinematic universe built by Bruce Timm and Paul Dini. The DC would of been a masterpiece!

I love hearing your film pitches, they’re really so fun to think about
Hear me out, Pattinsons Batman and Phoenix's Joker being in the same universe. Now that would be amazing.
That makes no sense. Pheonix's Joker is way too old for Pattinson's Batman. Plus Pattinson already has a young Pre-Joker.
@@sup3414 well in the movie I think the Joker is officially somewhere in his early 20s xd, so they would have like what a 13 year difference. It would have been interesting to see in any case
I would love to see this happen. Both trying hard to defeat evil and inspire their people in the power of their examples for a better tomorrow.
Pretty crazy how the thumbnail predicted James Gunn’s horrendous suit🤯
"The Batman" is a perfect emblematic shift from heroes needing that gritty dark edge to become the rays of light and hope they originally were needed to be.

We should make a petition for Reeves and Gunn to reconsider and put these two together. I know it would never work... but with hope, maybe it could.
Reeves is an old school filmmaker like Nolan, Fincher, Tarantino. He won't participate in such average summer blockbuster fest shenanigans
@@montaquimislamnoor8327 what if you could turn the summer blockuster into more than just mediocre shenanigans though? If anyone can, it's him.

I have a similar issue. They could very easily let The Batman stay canon to the Gunn universe. Through tv series they could connect dots to the eventual brave and the bold. Which if i was incharge would come after the batman 3, as a start to the next trilogy, but i also love the idea of greyson acting as batman after Bruce goes missing. I have many ideas! Like pretty much all fans. All i wish is Gunn makes a universe DC fans can call their own and love it as much as they love these characters
You make some good points initially I wasn't sure about having Pattinson as the DCU Batman but I recently saw your take on this on a stream and I agree.
I agree
I went to see THE FLASH because of Andy Muschietti
I love when horror directors make superhero movies
And despite everything that caused it to bomb, I had a really good time watching it
I think Muschietti did a great job, and I'm really looking forward to see his take on the DCU's "Brave and the Bold"
If they give it time, it’ll be good.
I really enjoyed The Flash as well (in my 2 watches!) , I think it's severely overhated
the flash was literal hot garbage
Can't lie I was expecting the second half of this post to be negative. Glad you enjoyed it too. Not a perfect film but pretty damn great imo
hiTop, as much you pour your heart out in every video dialogue, you sound happier with every video outro. very glad to see
I can only dream of putting together a video as good as this one.
Best youtuber out there by far. only guy i have the bell on for. So pumped for jason keep it up dude!
I've been thinking this exact same thing for months. The idea of a less fantastical Batman fighting aliens by the side of literal gods is an amazing idea.
As mush as I agree with you in other videos, I would love if reeves kept this batman far more grounded
100% see that perspectives and agree, but also, i don’t think that means Batman cannot play baseball with Superman.
Awesome video!
I get what you're saying man and I wish I could be as hopeful as you, but I don't trust Warner Bros. to not interfere with Reeve's vision. I trust James Gunn to leave this universe alone, but as DC's approach with Watchmen has proven, once you start messing with it you can never stop. I love the idea that a masterful, ambitious story is untouched and allowed to grow in it's own space. All love and respect bro!
I wonder if there's still enough time for Gunn to change course with the universe to allow something like Pattinson and Corenwet to meet, but it might be too late.
Well Brave and the Bold hasn’t started production yet so maybe there is time. It’s doubtful that they’d change their minds unfortunately
He'll no
It's too late
I 100 percent agree. Having a “ grounded ‘ batman in a world with superman is brilliant. Also this 2 versions of these characters seem perfect for each other. But we are never seeing them together 😭
Damn bro
Your videos always give me chills :')
I am so hopeful for the DCU and have a lot of faith in it. I think the idea of The Batman being in the DCU would be perfect and so great and a HUGE miss opportunity (and would still love if it could happen, I don't know how that would possibly happen though). But I still have really think the DCU Batman could work, and I'm very excited to see what the future of DC holds. Great video!
This video says everything that i always wanted to say, thank you for putting in words ❤️
Love your videos man!! Always excited when you upload a new video! Yeah, as pumped as I am for the Gunnverse and I honestly do think Andy can make a good Batman movie, I was overall disappointed when it wasn’t gonna be Pattinson. I think B&The Bold can be good if not studio made like the Flash, but like you said, Robert is also my favorite live action now and I really want to see a young Batman and Superman grow together, total missed opportunity.
The Missed Opportunity is neither James Gunn's fault nor is Matt Reeves's.
It's Warner Brothers who are doing the dirty work in hope of earning more 💰...
I totally agree, i always wanted the batman to be the first dcu movie, it sucks that they are going with a deferent batman for the dcu, I really hope they would change their mind and make the batman be the starting point of the dcu
I don’t think it’s possible without having Matt Reeves leave the Batman projects. Having his universe in a world with goofy characters like Superman and Wonder Woman would be spitting on his vision. Unless they somehow remove as much fantastical stuff as possible from DCU which I don’t see happening either.
I 100% want to see this Batman fight some fantastical enemies. We have a super realistic Batman already. Batman isn’t always just fighting the Mob and the same 4 criminals reimagined. This is the best looking Gotham we’ve gotten yet and I want to see some epic battles in the streets and on the rooftops
Who would you want him to fight against? I'd love Mr Freeze and Poison Ivy in the next film but I think we're getting Joker again.
Not going to happen pat is to realistic
Now you got me in my feelings with that last line. Amazing Vid bro
One of my favourite things from The Batman was seeing how pretty Gotham looked and I feel like Metropolis could look fantastic if it was a colourful fantasy land after Superman establishes himself
I would love if the first Justice League movie was about them fighting the Authority. If Battinson was in the movie, he could have an excellent fight/debate with Midnighter about how vengeance isn't the way and about how people need hope. I think it would be particularly poignant with Battinson because he himself once embodied vengeance and knows firsthand the damage it could do, not just to the world but to one's self.
After seeing The Batman my decision on whether or not it ends up being a good movie is if they manage to build on its themes with character growth in later movies. Batman needs to go from Vengeance to force for order to symbol of hope for Gotham, and much of that has to be done with exposure to other people. The Bat Family teaches that there is more to life than the mission, and Superman teaches that there is reason to have hope.
Great vid! Your voice is so relaxing 😂
This is by far the best prententious video I’ve seen by you!!
I feel like it would definitely be possible. Let Matt Reeves finish out his trilogy and have Robert Pattinson's Batman appear in team-up films similar to what RDJ's Iron Man did for the MCU!
I think that was what Gunn wanted, but Reeves was not confortable with that and he respected his decision cause he is trying to focus more on the film makers and what they want to do. I just secretly dream that it's all a big misdirect (like saying The Authority where in Superman Legacy so that the casting call for the other heroes would not leak) and the Pattinson will actually be the DCU Batman haha
I actually think it was a mutual agreement. Gunn is a huge fan of Damian Wayne and the established Batfamily which you can’t really do with Pattinson’s Batman.
@@darkfire7660 it was dumb to start with Damian tho. Why not start with the FIRST Robin at least?
@@SpinoSam
2 reasons:
1. If they started with Dick there’s no way they’d be able to get through the whole Batfamily. It would take at least 9 movies to get to Damian if they started with Dick and no actor would commit to that, especially considering the actor for Batman would have to do 4 live-action Justice League movies as well and possibly appear in projects like a Nightwing movie. RDJ and Chris Evans both did a trilogy and a few Avengers movies before leaving, the same will most likely be true of the new Batman actor. It was necessary to skip ahead to include all the Robins and get to tell stories like Under the Red Hood which wouldn’t be possible if you started with Dick.
2. Batman with Dick as Robin is still relative early in his career (year 5 possibly) and the Pattinson sequel will most likely be set around that time into Batman’s career as well. They need a slightly older Batman to differentiate between the two so they needed a Robin for when Batman was in his prime and they picked Damian.
@@darkfire7660 oh true forgot Damian in that equation 😅
@@darkfire7660
Don't need all that. 1 Batman movie with Dick Grayson as Robin, 1 Nightwing movie with Dick Grayson becoming Nightwing, 1 Batman movie with Jason Todd as Robin, 1 Red Hood movie with Jason Todd becoming Red Hood, 1 Batman movie with Tim Drake as Robin, 1 Red Robin movie with Tim Drake becoming Red Robin, and 1 Batman movie with Damian Wayne as Robin.
Damian is supposed to be that late to show how long time has passed. How Bruce has gone through so much, with Dick Grayson being a success, Jason Todd being a failure, Tim Drake being hope restored and Damian being the final challenge as his own real son, that is so young and already so corrupted by his mother and grandfather's ideology.
The new movie will literally have to go over all this in order to explain the Batfamily to the public that never even heard of any of these characters, which is way too much backstory and dark origins to put in a movie that aims to follow 'The Brave and The Bold'.
the amount of work you put into this video is amazing!
1:44 "did not break me" 😭😭
Agreed!
Thank you for someone actually thinking the batman should start the dcu becuase it's always the start I was always dreaming of
“Clark? Is this…is this Heaven?”
“It’s Kansas, Bruce. Wanna have a catch?”
Film it and they will come.
Your storytelling is .. grounded 👏👏
Been waiting for our strongest soldier to join this war. Pattinson is Batman.
Edit: Also to argue for your point, this is exactly how the modern (as in post 1980s) DC Comics works. Batman Year One takes place in the DC universe yet that doesn’t rob it of it’s connection to reality at all. The Batman is even less grounded in reality than the actual Year One book (camera contacts) but somehow we’re supposed to believe It’s just too “real” to fit in the new DCU? Matt’s vision takes first priority and I’d much rather the Reevesverse be safe from the inevitable WB self destruction of the DCU, yet that doesn’t make The Batman any less perfect as the start of a new universe.
The Video Of Robert Pattinson Meeting Grant Gustin's Flash Was Absolutely Incredible, I Would Kinda Like To See Rob Interact With Other DC Superheroes, But I'm Glad Reeves Is Keeping This A Solo Universe czcams.com/video/qoR87gLz_kc/video.html

Wait, what
Yh I saw that vid and I got goosebumps and almost cried ngl
Missed ur videos man
I feel like people forgot that for a while legacy characters weren't just temporary replacements while we waited for the "original" to come back
But for a while, Dick Grayson wasn't just a legacy character, he WAS BATMAN
Same goes for Wally West
The thing that could make this idea/theory seemless is that there's a huge chance that Superman already exists in the Reevesverse. A Superman costume during the Halloween part, a newspaper in the film & the Riddler comics show a lived in DCU already exists.
@@alexx_Q True.
HiTop Films, if you want to see how this COULD work, I suggest watching the DC pitches Super Frame made. Honestly, a combination of you and him would be just like a collaboration of Batman and Superman. You as Batman, what I suppose to be a broken, dark and depressed man with the will to keep going and Super Frame as Superman, a healthy, loveable, optimistic, passionate man with the vision.
Man, I love this channel...the passion and effort into making these videos is incredible. 👑💯🥇👟
I like the idea of Batman being absent from a justice league movie until the very end when all hope is lost. That seems in line with the comic books and that route would prevent compromises to The Batman’s Aesthetic and character arc.
Exactly how I felt, man. This is my only problem with Gunn's new plan. I mean The Batman is grounded but also very comic accurate. Probably the most accurate batman portrail ever.
Hey Alex! Are you excited for Barbenheimer?
If yes in which order you're going to watch them because both of them are just the antithesis of each other.
Yes! Probably Barbie first, then Oppie, then death.
Great video, man. Loved it! 🦇
EXACTLY!
The whole appeal of DC is how different every character’s world is.
The sun bathed Metropolis of Superman, the gothic broken Gotham of Batman, the mythical amazon isle of Wonderwoman.
That’s what’s so appealing, why not have Reeves do it’s thing and have their take on Robin evolve and years later we see Nightwing appear in Brave and the Bold.
Why not have two young Bruce and Clark meet, disagree, team up and grow.
It really shouldn’t
The way I see it, in the way that Thor is a God amongst Men, Batman is a man amongst Gods, you can have the status quo of grounded Gotham be upset by the arrival/discovery of all these metahuman/alien characters as long as Batman keeps what makes him interesting.
I agree with you on the older, seasoned Batman. It would great to see a Batman in his prime, 5-7 years of experience but still has more adventures ahead of him than behind him.
If Battinson's world was "grounded" he would've killed Penguin after flipping his car a billion times. Also, Bruce would've died after crashing and burning violently after his first flight.
Bale's batman is the most grounded he feels like a guy I could go and see in chicago or new york tbh
Wow!! Your video is superb artistic! + your dialogue,, just blow my mind! Love it🔥🔥
So happy you see the vision too! It just makes sense to me. We’re basically having multiple Batman’s running around again. David Corenswet would be a great Superman for Pattinson’s Batman. Ying Yang, day and night.
The reason I love your videos is the emotional weight they carry. The vast majority of video essays I am used to watch are very informative but they usually lack that factor. Eventhough I don't always agree with you, I am eager to discover your point of view and witness the same passion I possess
Funny enough even before Henry Cavill was supposedly brought back to play the role of Superman, I still fancasted David Corenswet as the Superman of the Reevesverse opposite to Robert Pattison Batman for the World's Finest team-up that could hypothetically happen. Now to finally see David Corenswet become Superman to lead an entirely new cinematic universe is nothing but a dream come true for me
Didn't you say you didn't like that WB casted the boy from Twilight when The Batman was first announced?
@@righteousrawb7225 No. When did I ever say that? I was always down for Pattison to play Batman and I knew hed do a superb job, which he clearly proved.
You must have me confused for someone else
Same for me, it's fucking crazy man
Appreciate the amount of time and energy that went into making this video. It was very entertaining.Thank you so much!
Oh gosh! That’s final story you shared about Bruce and Clark was so heartbreaking
Two Batmen diversify DC's tone and style. Crossovers risk confusion, fatigue, and stifled creativity. Two universes, two timelines; it's double the pleasure for discerning fans and double the opportunity for DC. It's not a bat-problem, it's a bat-solution!
I like this take on the argument for integrating Battinson into the DCU. I think my problem with integrating the two is not that one is more "grounded" than the other, though, it's the difference in tones between the filmmakers which tends to cause issues once the franchises cross over with each other. If Reeves's Batman is a very gritty, dark character and Gunn's Superman is a goofy optimist, that's fine, but they should each stay that way when they meet each other. Unfortunately, this doesn't always happen when the characters cross over. Look at the characters in BvS and the same ones in Wheedon's Justice League vs the Snyder Cut. You can make the world that the characters live in as grounded or ungrounded as you want, but you have to make them tonally consistent in their demeanor. I'm terrified of the idea of James Gunn directing a movie with Battinson and turning him into something akin to one of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
