- Cutting and welding on my replacement front fender to replace the one that was crushed in the accident. I'm definitely still learning the body work stuff maybe?

Nice job Nathan! 😎👍 Glad you could use the filler piece from the other fender. Body work looks great 🔧🔩
It looks much better than it used to.
Looks great Nathan. 👍
Definitely looks much better.
Turned out really good Nathan, 👍👍
Thanks it does look much better.
Good job
Thanks it's definitely better
Looks great! Rust freaking sucks! That repair will last forever though and will most definitely hold. That fender you found actually was in great shape too. Really great find. A tip for welding thinner material is try to keep the weld super low profile by reducing your filler input. That will help keep full penetration consistent through the sheet. Rusty sheet metal is no fun either way lol. Great work!
I was tig welding it so it was heat and dab it in one dot at a time.I still have to get 220 in the garage for my mig welder.
Progress. Lookin good
It's getting better. It does look better on camera.
Nice work man 👍
Thanks
You did great Nathan.... Next time use short strand fiberglass filler bondo makes it $20 at HFT on you welds it the only filler thats water proof and seals your welds...also I like to do the back of the weld with por15 black putty... But your repair will last a long time.... I'm overkill I hate rust lol.
I sprayed the back side with rust converter for what ever I couldn't clean with the wire wheel. It turned out fairly good. It probably looks better on camera.
Nice
Thanks
Nice. I did some welding on the 66 Coronet. Skim coated after grinding with some metallized body filler and you'd never know where the patches were.
It's always nice when it blends right in.
@@NathansMoparGarage yep. Cut pieces to fit and stitched them in. Yours came out great.
Better than I thought but don't look to closely 😂

#8👍🏼 Oihh, this is 🎉FUN
Tingling💖💋
🤔 For some reason, I thought this was a big table for a model car town you were building! 😂
Now theres an idea👍🏼💘🌅
That's another channel. I like the full size model cars
With all that work, it might have been easier to pay a little more and get a more solid piece from another car. But I get it, you have to work with what you have.
That would have been easier but then I would have had to buy another fender and pay to ship it.
@@NathansMoparGarage Sometimes you gotta pay to play.....
This worked out just fine. It just took a bit longer.
What grit was leaving all the marks?
220 was to rough I went to 320 and 400 and it looked better. Not perfect but better.
