Take a hammer next time with you, or some kind of deodorant spray and lighter, probably better use hammer and hammer down every single spider, but in the end where was lot of them would be great to use some kind of flamethrower like spray and lighter :D
This video just reminded me of something. I remember crawling through a natural tunnel of a cave system here in Alabama; probably half the diameter of that one there in this video, just absolutely filled with spiders and cave crickets. It also had a natural 90 degree bend and for some reason I went around it after struggling for a bit. The spiders and other awful creatures got much bigger the further I went. took me about 15 minutes to find a spot that opened up enough to turn around with some yoga poses or some shit. Needless to say, I no longer like crawling through very tight tunnels. Wonderful videos though man. Been watching through all of your channel this morning. Keep up the great work.
Great videos guys, I have read in books from ww2 that some of the hidden bunkers had large pipes going into them so that messages could be dropped down to the soldiers inside to let them know what was going on.... keep up the great work.
There is nothing like the feeling of being in a tight tunnel with a bunch of spiders. We have very similar spiders here in Canada, same shape, size colour, habit of hanging from the top of a tunnel, and same sort of egg sacs. Never heard of our spiders biting though.....Thanks for the video.
+Bloeski's Wrecking Crew many thanks for the comment :) Iv heard Cave Spiders have bitten and the bite has come up quite bad :S dont know if thats just a made up story lol
You're the bravest man I ever seen. Personally I'd rather run naked across Syria with a huge cross while yelling 'Jesus is top man!' than going down into that cramp hole with spiders' nests. Simply amazing courage.
Damnit. I was just about to go to bed, and while I'm not deathly afraid of spiders the thought of a small tunnel filled with them isn't something I find appealing. I'm sure I'll have sweet dreams tonight lol.
Great little spot. I met a load of those spiders this week somewhere. When I crawled out, there was a whopper on the top of my rucksack. I took coat & hat off for a good brush down in case too. :-)
+Isle Of Wight Alternative Attractions lol my mate had the same 9 years ago from this bunker, as we walked down the road away from the bunker there was a spider slowly crawling up his rucksack towards his neck lol creepy stuff :) thanks for the comment :)
This looks very like a Zero station for an Auxiliary Unit, the so-called British Underground, actually the hard core stay-behind parties of the Home Guard. Their story is fascinating. Books such as 'The Last Ditch' and 'Churchill's Secret Defence Army' are worth reading on this subject. Also, take a look at www.auxunit.org.uk
enjoyed that , the sound of your voice in that tunnel reverberating around the barrel , i would not have known about cave spiders having a bite , how does the bite compare to a wasp sing ? thank you for sharing this with us
+I Macey someone else said about the biting of cave spiders, thats what iv heard, dont know if it fact. might be one of them explorer tales lol I will look into this :) thanks for the comment :)
Those pipes gave me an idea, I was thinking maybe they used an exhaust pipe for stale air while using it for waste water as well. Just the same could be done with fresh water and air but in this case the angle of the pipes was wrong for a gravity fed system. I think maybe because this was a very dangerous position and at the same time beneficial, they were in they may have had help with designs from the best sources of military architects.
dunno about you but, if i was crawling through that pipe and a face appeared at the other end, i would probably die of fright :| great videos btw, im recently new subscriber and used to do some urban exploring myself :)
Oh my lord your brave dude ,i went in an old Roman cave last year felt like a kid again until i shone my light and three cave spiders were ready to get me ,my daughter had to help drag me out lol, love your vids guys :) xx
It's weird how the tunnel just changed from concrete to dirt. Was the escape hatch down that part you didn't go down? It would have been pretty nice to see you climb out it haha.
there would have been a hatch (now gone) at the end of that tunnel, its now covered with a piece of tin. The entrance I accessed the bunker through had a hatch on it still (not original) thanks for the comment :)
those vents @1:05 wouldn't that be to pass ammunition powder cases through. As the navy uses these same access to pass ammunition through to prevent bulkhead compromise and gas protection.
only speculation if there was an adjacent space I'd see almost 5inch powder cases being passed through. But ventilation seems more likely. If you make it back there and clear out the spider's, I'd wonder how far it continues to go. And if it's connected to and ammunition locker. But thanks for exploring I just watched the light's still work set and I subscribed very interesting artifacts.
Hi, FYI As I've helped them with a couple of locations in Essex, I've just sent the link of this vid to the British Resistance Archive (BRA) / Coleshill Auxiliary Research Team (CART).
Also the sub Brit link you have used is not for this location. This is the Hollingbourne Zero Station. May I suggest you use our web link? www.coleshillhouse.com/specialdutiesbranch/hollingbourne-zero-station.php
Worry not of the spiders if you leave them alone they will leave you alone, only if you brush up against them, but spiders normally stay away from humans; as the old saying goes "they are more afraid of you then you are of them"
Weren't there plans at least a long the coast for pipe lines to be used to pump oil or gas to then be set fire to to stop the German forces as part of the defenses? Perhaps those pipes the smaller one were part of such a system?
It is a Zero Station used by the Special Duties Branch. Not commandos or Aux units. Read the full story here www.coleshillhouse.com/specialdutiesbranch/hollingbourne-zero-station.php
The 'Forward Units'. Men with local knowledge, of countryside and landscape, good shots, so it would be more than likely to have poacher and gamekeeper rubbing shoulders. First priority: remove anyone who might have knowledge of the 'Forward Unit' in their area, so that there was no possibility of the Germans finding out who the saboteurs were, and planning reprisals. Harsh, but sensible.
IKS Exploration - Fridays 10AM I know I joking,y recommended the use of a flamethrower but should you really do that think of bringing am extra supply of oxygen, lest you suffocate in their after cleaning out.......
In this hide out bunker did the people in ww2 that were here died cause someone killed them or they moved out p.s sorry I don't know too much about ww2
That tunnel would be awful for me. I don't light tight spaces, nor do I like spiders.

Those pipes gave me an idea, I was thinking maybe they used an exhaust pipe for stale air while using it for waste water as well. those vents @1:05 wouldn't that be to pass ammunition powder cases through. As the navy uses these same access to pass ammunition through to prevent bulkhead compromise and gas protection.
+Spider Mcgavenport (9mm) interesting thanks for sharing:)

Those spiders are not babies you have balls of steel for crawling with them I'd see one and be around the world in a second flat
Smash the spiders, how do those spiders live down there? I dont think food or water would get that far into that bunker.
+Galactic Boss Cyrus is very crazy, they are like Aliens lol
4:08 You came to the wrong neighborhood
i would have had to have brought a can of something flammable and a lighter. i cant do that many spiders lol.
Or a smoke grenade; suffocate the little buggers
when i do things like this i take an aerosol that sprays water or air to get rid of spiders
Are these in the UK, if so where abouts ?
