  • Quick vid showing how I built my home-made plane CoG balancing machine. 1/2 inch PVC.
I got the idea from Ron RC "rcjoseb".

I made your CG rack. Works perfectly. Your instructions were right on. I only made one addition. I dipped the heads of the carriage bolts into plastic Dip to cover them with rubber so the plane won’t slide off. Great Grip. Thanks again for sharing.

I made one of these after watching this video. Works perfect! thank you much.
A tip for anybody making one... I put a piece of electrical tape on the top of the bolts for grip so the plane wont slide off. you have to use the good electrical tape though, like the $5 per roll stuff. The cheap plastic like stuff is not gripy enough.

Thanks so much. I was looking for a tool to balance planes and was going to buy one from China for $26 and about 3 weeks shipping time. After watching the video I built one from parts I had on stock and saved money.

great balancer!! I'm going to build one...put the bolts in the other way and get some rubber vacuum caps from an auto store...no damage, reduced slippage

I was thinking the exact same thing and so glad you brought the rubber vacuum caps into the conversation. Haven't made this yet, being new to the hobby after retiring, and wondering if it works well for you or anyone else out there that has tried it.

Just completed one and works great. My cost for all parts was just over $10 and 1/2 hour to build. Thanks for taking the time to make the videos you've done. I also finished the Backlight mod for my DX6i. Flawless build on that one too...Thanks

I fly BIG airplanes. I'm going to build one of your balancers and make it a bit larger so when the airplane is upside down the vertical stab doesn't touch the ground. Finally, I'm going to glue some felt on top of the carriage bolt heads because I'm going to be balancing 15-30 lb airplanes and don't want any dents! ;-)
    Thanks for the idea!

Seen the other vid but like the way your base is all upvc. U could use a balloon over the bolts for grip!?

how about foam on the bolts so it don't puncture skins?
