🌲 Hello and welcome to Holmåkra 22! 🌲
A new series that mainly will be focused around forestry and logging! With different setups, mods, etc.
In this episode, we'll be loading and transporting all the log piles we gathered back in episodes 4 and 5. to clear the area for the future construction of our very own sawmill. We will be using the Volvo EC250DL to load the bunch of trucks coming. Once done, we deliver it to the northern sawmill, where we will be using the Volvo L200H High Lift to unload it all.

- What’s your deciding factor for log lenght? I’ve seen you’ve used at least 5m and 6m, why? 🙂
Thanks! 😁 It's depending on which forwarder or machine I'm gonna use to gather with. - The Komatsu forwarder is short so i prefer 5m.
Love the content of your videos but would love to see some at real speed occasionally, struggle to watch them when they’re so sped up and changing playback speed isn’t quite the same - thanks!
Tyvm! I keep that in mind, though i fear the gameplay might be a bit too slow without drastic changes. 😄 I typically speed up my videos 5x so in real speed i wouldn't be able to get much done i fear.😅

Do you use a forestry mod? Because in base game I don't think you can pick up trees from the ground with a harvester?
I use the mod Wood Harvester Controls, which gives you a bunch of new controls.
But if script mods is out of the question, then Platinum DLC comes with a processor config for the Volvo EC250DL so you can pick up trees from the ground and cut them to length. 😀
I didn’t know only certain trees can be harvested with the harvesters, it’s like a 10/1 ratio of what gets just a chainsaw to what you can use the heavy machines for, is there any kind of map that’s just pine or the other one?
Yea, if I'm not completely wrong, then you can only use a harvester for Spruce and Pine (with platinum DLC Ponderosa and Lodgepole as well). But each harvester has a different diameter, so watch out for that!
For giant maps, Silverrun Forest is overgrown with lots of trees that you can harvest.
Modded maps, Holmåkra 22 - Deer Lands - Green mountains, are mostly filled with spruce and pine trees, to name a few.😁

i wonder if you use som mods for the logs, bc i se you have mutch timber on the ground and i have problems when it get mutch on the ground they want to start jumping etc.
I know what you mean. I did overdo it, when i unloaded all the logs at the sawmill - The 4 big piles in the middle are moving and shifting unfortunately. (A problem for another time)
But the trick is to just make a few smaller piles, like the stacks in the beginning of the video. 😀

how do you maintain that good of performance with such big stacks? is a 3060ti good enough?
Yea, I figure. I have always enjoyed making big piles, even when I had a 1070ti. 😁
how can you hold that many logs at once? When I try to hold more than two logs, they just glitch out. Any tips, or mods?
No mod, and the only tip I have is to use the controls steadily to prevent the logs from jacking around. Having said that, as you can also see in the video, the Volvo from the Platinum DLC appears to almost clue the logs to the grapple. None of the other equipment does that. 😁😅

The trailers are the ''Timber trailer semi'' also from the Platinum DLC. With the 4x3m configuration. 😄

How are u able to grab so many logs with tht grapple mine maxed out at like 3-4
Sometimes the logs just float with the grapple for some reason. When that happens and if your are steady enough they won't drop. :D

Hori wheel working in all games?
I'm not too familiar with Hori accessories. I know they just released the Farming system to PC, but how well or if it even works in other games is hard to say without knowledge. ☺️

How come your machines actually move the wood around properly but mine act like to trees are the most unmovable objects
You need to cut them first. 😎 Jokes aside. I have no clue, the trees do bug out now and then for me as well, but it's fairly manageable. 😄

I'm not gonna lie, it did stress my pc a little when i used helpers for all 19 trucks to drive to the sawmill 😁

Yea, it can be a rough map fps-wise. But overall for me it's quite good, i sat around 120-140 fps when i was loading the trucks. =)
