This happened to me at Tops. I get the same thing from the deli each week, same day and time (ish, between 2 and 4 pm). After a few months of doing this, I walk in to the store and on the deli counter I see a bag with my name on it. Inside was the same thing I get every week, and the deli guy came out and said "hope I got it right, have a good one". That was hands down the best day ever
Exactly! And even then, everyone who does this to me which is like 2 people, always repeat the order for me so that I know if anything is wrong and, well they never are. It's still faster than having to repeat your order from memory every time. Never taught neither of them but they do still remember my order every time, though the other is the manager of the store and a really good friend of my mum's so that could be another reason as to why.
@@313Yuta haha lol nice one. What I ment was when you ask a Barbaro who doesn't know you "I'll have the usual" He's not gonna know what your talking about. But I know your joking so nobody dares r/woosh me.
I never asked for “the usual” but the workers did recognize me and instantly would know my order. Growing up my family went to subway a lot because my mom was always busy and didn’t have time to make dinner/go grocery shopping that often. It got to the point that the workers started to memorize my order because it’s really simple. I had a worker tell me that she loves when I come in because it’s the easiest sandwich of the day.
I actually have a kid like you who always come into my store. He always gets a footlong with meatballs and salt, sometimes he adds garlic aioli sauce to spice it up. I can sometimes convince him to get a cookie as well
"The Usual" only works if the employee knows and memorizes your order. Not the other way around. You can't expect every other food related places to know what you ordered in their other chain restaurants.

This past semester at university, my university lifted face mask restrictions. I went to the same food place on campus every day, and since the workers could see my face (same two workers every day) they recognized my name and face. I used to work at A&W years ago. I had a customer, someone who I’d never seen before in my life also, come up to me and go “The usual please.” I said politely “I’m sorry sir but I’m not sure what your usual order is. Could you please tell me what you normally order, I apologize.” His response was, and I’m not making this up, was “The A&W on main st, (not the location I was working at) they know what my usual order is, so you should know what it is too.” I said “I’m sorry sir but they are a different location with a different owner. I have no idea what your order is, I’m sorry.” He got mad and left in a huff. 🤦♀️🙄
Well thanks for teaching me that going up to the girl at a nearby coffee shop who I've got a crush on with "I'll have the usual" is not a viable tactic.
honestly another way to go about it politely is put on that thinking face and just go “I’m sorry I am having a blank…what was your order again?”….ok that’s what I do lol
I got into the same situation short after I started working in a small fast food stall. I never saw this man before and he was pissed off because I needed to ask what his usual was. After that day I memorised his order and told all the new co-workers about him and his order. It was very specific, don't use the pot, he wanted it on a plate. Never in my life was making the most common german fastfood such a hassle. Every time someone messed up (like not using the plate to seperate the friese from the rest of the order or put the mayo in the middle he started yelling and wanted a new one) Some customers are a pain.
Me going to the same bakery for the last five years. Every week, same day, same order. I just go in, grab my stuff and put money on the counter (if i have it) and leave. Got so much into that rythm, that they were worried when came a day late
There's that one woman at our local farmer's market that totally remembers all of her customers. At first I thought she was just being polite, asking "how's your daughter/husband/grandchildren doing", etc. But when she asked "how was your [very particular] party" SIX MONTHS after I last bought something from her and told her it was for the party, I'm pretty sure there are people who can remember every "as usual". However, I don't expect any random fast food worker to remember that.
So I got this dude at a subway shop and before I even said something he already know what I wanted he just made my entire sandwich and I was like “I have been here too much “ even after a 3 months of not going he still remembers
This worked with the cafeteria near our house. Me, my brother and our uncle would always go there and order 3 cups of tea after school. Eventually, they memorized our order and our uncle would just put up 3 fingers then the guy would give him a thumbs up ( we parked and ordered from the car ). We also often ordered delivery from them ( mostly my brother for breakfast ) so they memorized our address. We’d just call and they’d see the phone number and know who’s house it is. This really only worked because we frequented that place almost everyday and it was the cafeteria of the neighborhood.
It was the complete opposite for me, as the customer, I went to a small grill that was in my town, but they relocated so we didnt go very much. We went around 6 monthes ish later again, and they remembered me by name, and asked if I wanted the *my name* burger because I always had the same thing. I still havent forgotten them. It was so unexpected
Based on the fact that u told us that he was wearing sunglasses inside the store and was busy on his phone ......I think he ordered pepperoni, chicken with swiss cheese and toasted it and put onions and bell peppers with sweet onion and chipotle sauce, all of this on Italian herbs and cheese........ also how close is this to the actual order 😅😅😄
As a customer, I always get so self-conscious when I go to a fast food joint and they ask me 'the usual?' it makes me think 'how many times have I been here in the last month? I should probably eat healthier'
I used to work at Starbucks and if I was making drinks the people would have them made for them before they made it to the register because I memorized all their usuals
I used to work at subway and would have to go through a similar experience. To combat this if I didn't know what they ordered previously, I would verbal guess something popular like sweet onion teriyaki and if I guess wrong, they would tell me and I would acknowledge them, like oh, yeah.. that's right. That way they would feel special and I would remember them next time.
Is Milad just awesomely generous or does he almost always double the proportions for everything? Aren't they losing money lol. I used to get yelled at for not measuring the shredded cheddar or over scooping the tuna. Someone please enlighten me
