    Thank you SO much for this. I tried the glass mug and didn't get a print at all. Turned to youtube and found this video. I'm so glad it wasn't just me. Can't wait to go through the rest of your videos. ❤

    Thanks for this Cori. I have tried a couple of these already, and some I haven't. I found that not using the suggested time/temp on the drink ware products that they sublimate better. The times/temps seem too low to really get a good result so I just follow what my tumbler presses say. I will say - that tote bag has come in very handy when I needed to bring stuff (samples/show and tell) to work, post office, craft shows, etc. It's like those bags you can get from IKEA, just fabric. 🙂

      Yeah, I assume pressing it longer would help! I just find it really hard to recommend something when the instructions on the packaging don’t work. I’m glad you found a use for that giant tote bag!

    I absolutely love your videos. I have purchased Michael's blanks myself. I have to say the glitter mug that I did was a success. Maybe you got a bad mug. Mine came out beautiful. It all depends I guess. You have to take your chances. Please keep making your videos.

    I'm glad that you are finding products for sublimation. I find my Michael's is really lacking in this department. I'm interested in sublimating t shirts and sweatshirts and tank tops.

    • @HeyLetsMakeStuff
      @HeyLetsMakeStuff  Před 7 měsíci

      They really only had t-shirts when it came to garments at my Michaels. I joke we're at the end of the line because we're the last stop before Canada, so a lot of times our inventory leaves a lot to be desired.

    Love this! I’ve been using various blanks from Michaels and oddly, I’ve never seen that large tote 😅 I’ve used their smaller totes and they sublimate really well! I’ve also had a lot of luck with their luggage tags (actually any of their tags), 22oz water bottle, 20oz tumbler, keychains and coasters. A trick for things like the travel mug; use a design with a watercolor or paint splash background and that way it doesn’t have the harsh lines/edges. I just tried one from Joann’s tonight and it’s beautiful but the fact that it doesn’t fit in the car cup holder is annoying!

      @HeyLetsMakeStuff  Před 7 měsíci

      How funny, I just gave the same watercolor design advice in a video I filmed today on something completely different. 😂 Good good to know they have smaller totes! The one I got was seriously enormous!!

    I'm actually going to try the tall metal tumbler (& a short one just like it) today. Fingers crossed! I have done the glitter mug & the clear glass mug, as well as a frosted mug. I absolutely found that they need longer times & temps. Do what you would normally do for a Cricut brand mug. When I tried them with the recommended settings & it didn't sublimate at all, I just put them back in at my regular settings, & it worked fine. ☺

    • @AliciaVanSant
      @AliciaVanSant Před 12 dny

      Not to reply to myself, but... LOL The metal ones came out just fine (although I am using a Cricut mug press, so the part of my design that was near the top - not the top of the mug, but the top of my design - on the larger mug faded a tiny bit). I also tried a frosted glass tall mug (no handle, but bamboo lid & glass straw) from Hobby Lobby. I had to put a silicone wrap around that to make it thick enough for the mug press to really press down on it. They didn't turn out great, but they're OK. Again, I just used my regular settings for these that I use with my Cricut mugs.

    Thanks for this review. I've had all these products pop up in my Michael's and not sure about the quality. I love the giant tote for groceries (we don't get bags at the grocery store where I live) but the quality felt crappy. I like the luggage tag and coaster.

    Cori George, I purchased some sublimation tumblers from Hobby Lobby. They came in several colors, and I thought the colors were light enough that the print would show nicely. The directions that came with these tumblers was horribly off on time. After the first one was a complete failure, no color transferred at all, I decided I had nothing to lose, so I sublimated it again and used the same settings I use on my PYD tumblers. Came out perfectly!! The instructions said 70 seconds (I think), and I ended with seven minutes rotating halfway through. This may be the case with the two coffee mugs you purchased from Michaels.

    • @HeyLetsMakeStuff
      @HeyLetsMakeStuff  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Oh geez! Good to know. I think they'd probably work with a longer time, but it drives me crazy when the instructions are completely wrong-makes it hard for me to recommend them!

    Was on the hunt for their tiles. Glad they worked. Did you solve the glitter mug not sublimating?

    • @HeyLetsMakeStuff
      @HeyLetsMakeStuff  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Yes! I actually sublimated one just recently for an upcoming video on glitter blanks. I ended up doing 380° for a full 480 seconds! And I got a great result :)

    • @HeyLetsMakeStuff
      @HeyLetsMakeStuff  Před 7 měsíci

      Yes they do, which is why I couldn't recommend the last two! I bet they could work with a longer time, but I don't want people to use the time and temp listed and end up disappointed.
