'ukbamba elentulo' is a figure of speech we use when we hold you to your initial word/promise. It's based on a popular IsiZulu fable, the fable is about 2 different messages that were given to be delivered by a chameleon and a lizard(intulo). Obviously the lizard being quicker delivered its message first, so the audience held on to the word/prediction of the lizard. (The chameleon did arrive and faithfully delivered its message but the people were not interested,it was already too late,hence they said:"sibambe elentulo'"(we will stick to what the lizard said!) Similarly with the song: the singer is reminding his departing lover of the promises and hopes they had of remaining together indefinitely; though she's changed her mind,he hasn't,he wants to stick to what the lizard said.
