There is no bad in beautiful masjid. Jannah is more beautiful. What is bad is muslim having sect killing each other due to having different sect. Nimaz is important. It is also bad to say other as bad. We all are son of Adam. Even suliaman a.s beautiful and magnificent building.
But these are sign. Like white hair is sign of human body is reaching near death.
Definitely, instead of beautifying the masaajid, that money can be put to better use through improving the Islamic education system and community upliftment programmes, may ALLAAH reward those who contributed towards building these houses of worship.

@@herurochadi494 masjid dan surau di sumatra barat bahkan di indonesia dan malaysia seharusnya bumbungnya tajug/meru bertumpang/tingkat2 seperti masjid agung demak, masjid agung banten, masjid agung solo, masjid tengkera melaka, masjid tanah melaka, masjid kg hulu melaka, masjid sang cipta rasa cirebon, masjid2 lama di indonesia, brunei malaysia dan cocos island. tp skrng sudah byk yg tiru gaya arab-parsi timur tengah dan india-pakistan mughal berkubah2. mungkin gaya nusantara ini kuno dan tidak canggih atau malu, atau tidak cukup islam barangkali.

@@Abgcik85 coba lihat masjid tanah melaka, masid kg hulu, masid kg keling, masjid laksamana hang tuah, masjid alai melaka, masjid jamek seremban, masjid kg laut kelantan, masjid taman ilmu itu semua kan bumbung tajug. tapi skrng byk yg mau kubah, kalo yg ga ada kubah di tambah kubahnya, masjid renovasi ditambah kubah ga dikekalkan bentuk aslinya

“The Day of Qiyamah will not come as long as people desist from being proud of their Mosques (i.e. of the constructional beauty and decoration of the Mosque).” (Abu Dawood)
Ibn Abbas (R) said:
“You (Muslims) will decorate your Mosques like the Jews and the Christians decorated their places of worship.”
Ali (R) said: `4A time will come when Islam will remain only in name; the Words of the Quran will be left, and the Mosques will be outwardly prosperous but will be desolate as far as guidance is concerned.”

They can't be in top 10 list. The reason is bcoz there is no competition with Masjid Haram and Masjid Nabawi. They were, are and will be the best.

Masjid Raya Padang is unique cuz at minangkabau theres roof named gonjong and I always pray there when Friday pray or 5 time pray
You can find a lot unique mosque architecture in indonesia. Sometime it doesn't have dome, there's some mosque with hinduism architecture, Chinese architecture, and local architecture style..
