So I cut my 4 cords that we used to start with at 2 meters, 78-79 inches- and I actually gave them each a few extra inches so they were more like 83/85 inches, and somehow the one cord we used for each half hitch knot at the start, is extremely short and I’m looking at yours and yours are not as short as mine. Are your cords to start with really 2 meters? Because I used the same exact size cording and same knots, I’m confused how mine ended up so short. Now I have to unknot the entire thing and cut new cord even longer.

I had to adjust mine initially because when I pulled the initial "loop" tight after attaching the 3 other cords, I pulled one side more than the other. So I ended up with one cord being shorter while another cord was much longer. That could be what happened on your first try.
