  • Part 15: • Michael Jai White: Fat...
Part 1: • Michael Jai White on P...
    --------
In this clip, Michael Jai White spoke about there being a small minority of rappers who are actually gangsters as opposed to the vast majority who are performing what they take to be a gangster. Michael also discussed being around very powerful people and how interconnected his friends and associates are. He recounted training Snoop's former bodyguard that killed a man in the famous murder trial in the '90s. According to Michael, he knew the judge presiding over the case and revealed that a substantial about of evidence "vanished" in the process.

He became that character after, and especially after he got the part for juice, he became that character, became as gangster as he possibly could portray. It's like he was playing as a character of an amazing performance for a movie but he kept going with it.

Tupac didn't die for a gang and he never threw up gang signs at Orlando. Tupac died because he is LOYAL. Tupac would have popped off on anyone who he felt disrespected people he loved. Of course Pac did not know Orlando, but in his mind, Orlando was the enemy because of the chain incident in the mall. Tupac was not fake and he did not stay in character. He was a human being who had different sides to him(Funny, Angry, etc...) Fake tends to be people who always show you one side(6ix9ine always gangster). Tupac is probably the realest person ever to come into the rap game. He recorded tons of music, not one talking about his money or his cars, all real lyrics that made you feel something. Everyone taking these backwards shot at the man.

I met Tupac the writer and the poet before I met 2pac the rapper. He had a tortured soul, born from revolutionary parentage and he was actually born in jail while his mom was with the Black Panthers. We are all multidimensional people. Nobody is just one thing. Pac embraced every facet of his personality and poured his soul into his music. He did get too carried away with the thug inside of him. He allowed the beast inside of him to completely take over. Balance is the key to everything.

My thing is, Tupac never really called himself a gangster like that. He promoted that he was a thug. People have this idea of what a thug is, but Pac broke down what a thug was to him which wasn't what most people think when they think "THUG". And I liked how he broke it down personally and agree, on his definition, he was one. Not a gangster. Tupac wasn't a character to me. He wasn't fake. You never really hear any confirmed stories about him being a punk or anything to that nature. Was always stand up and in your face if there was a problem.

"Revenge of the Nerds" is the best way to phrase that era of hip hop. Most rappers back then were smart dudes who got influenced by their grim reality. They looked up to gangsters (rich ones) instead of going to college to be in a position of power. Who do you blame?

Growing up as a kid I hung around with Crips and Nortenos but I never did any gangster stuff. I did get a lot of recognition within their community and people associated me as a gangster because of the crowd I was with. It was rather dangerous when I think about it because I did have rival gangs go up to me. I would tell my homies and they would handle it.

2Pac was a solid dude.. he had the Black Panther Party background.. He had the energy of a warrior. He wasn't a gangster though, and he was indeed in character. We can honestly compare him to 6ix9ine. Let's be real... only difference is Pac wouldn't have bended.. wouldn't have told and he prolly would've only got locked for some revolutionary shit... but... he was wildin. Let's call it what it is. He still a legend. Still one the greatest. Not refuting that.

Vantum Noir that’s actually not what I’m doing and you should read before you reply... I’m only saying in terms of him wildin out, repping a gang and using it as his image, being influenced by the ppl around him.. which is the same shit they both did.. neither of them coming up in gang life. You gotta also look at how young Pac was when he died...

The impact of getting shot five times and getting incarcerated all within a couple of months is not to be underestimated... that sequence of events must have had an extremely negative effect on his life. After going through all that, I am sure some of the light inside of him was buried... Perhaps that light would have had a chance to resurface if he had not died so young
